Custom designed to fit your Ford Bronco so it can be safely towed behind your RV, this base plate has easily removable arms that offer a seamless look when you're not flat towing. Base plate bolts directly to your chassis, so no welding is required.

This base plate's hidden design creates a clean and seamless look. The bracket arms are easily removable, creating a slick appearance when you're not flat towing. Because the arms can be removed, you also won't have to worry about banging your leg into any protruding arms when you walk by.
Attaching and removing the bracket arms is a breeze. To attach the arms to the base plate, simply insert them into the receivers and rotate them until they lock into place. Once you're finished towing and want to remove the arms, pull the pin to disengage the lock, rotate the arms, and remove them from the receivers. Finally, plug up the now empty receivers with the included receiver covers to help keep dirt and debris out of the base plate and provide a finished look.
Flat towing your vehicle is much more convenient than using a trailer or a tow dolly. These other options take up much more storage space, leaving you less room both at home and at the campsite. In addition, securing your vehicle to a trailer or tow dolly can be a hassle and more time consuming than hooking up with a tow bar.
There are 5 basic components needed when flat towing a vehicle: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a supplemental braking system.
The tow bar links your towed car to your motorhome. It attaches to the custom-fit base plates that install on the frame of your towed car. Safety cables ensure that your towed car does not separate from your motorhome in the event that your tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring allows your towed vehicle's signal lights to sync up with your motorhome's tail lights, which is required by law in most states. Finally, the supplemental braking system - also required in most states - brakes your towed car when the brakes in your motorhome are activated, preventing wear on the motorhome and decreasing braking distance for your entire setup.

Custom designed to fit your vehicle so it can be safely towed behind your RV, this base plate has easily removable arms that offer a seamless look when you're not flat towing. Base plate bolts directly to your chassis, so no welding is required.Everything installed and fit as portrayed in the installation instructions. I did find that the original "U" hook brackets that were removed held the cooling core about 3/4" higher than the brackets on the side of these base plates. The core slipped downward and the rubber grommets went properly into place at these brackets. Installer should change one side at a time to prevent core slipping too far down. I'm assuming that the core (radiator) is cushion mounted and that this lowering doesn't affect its fit security or function. Better explanation of where/how to trim the plastic skid plate could have been given. I inserted the front two bolts a few threads to align it side to side and marked just enough to clear the base plates (photo). I cut it with a hole saw in the corners and a multitool saw. I'm disappointed in the protrusion of the safety hook tabs (photo). Could these not have been welded on the underneath side somehow to be less obtrusive? At this writing, I have yet to tow this vehicle, but I'm sure it will be fine.
There are 3 different front bumpers for the Bronco. etrailer originally sent me the wrong baseplate. After a few calls to etrailer and one of their agents admitted that it was not clear on their site and I called Blue Ox to find the right part number - (not good) Installing the base plate was a 3 on a 5 scale for me but the biggest issue was where to install the plug in from the RV and the breakaway box. Not a good place on the plug in.Photos from Blue Ox are not the best and I called and had them send a PDF with color photos which was a little better. Wiring was not the best either especially if trying to tie in with trailer harness that was installed at at same time. Pulling the the colored plastic below the tail light is pretty scary hoping that you don't break the plastic or any of the tabs - Good Luck!
Installation was relatively easy. Fit was very good. Slight trimming of skid plate was necessary. Was able to find locations to mount brake pull and electrical connection so that they integrated well with the bumper. Only item left to finish is wrapping the wires behind the electrical connection in wire loom to improve cosmetic appearance and protect the wires better. Installed the 6 diode kit to retain the full function taillights with separate motorhome and separate Bronco taillight functions.
I don't have my Bronco yet, but i can tell you these things are stout. Massive. Held on with four 12mm to 1/2' bolts, loctited, each side. They are not going anywhere. It looks like they accounted for everything, intercooler, skidplate mount etc.. Backordered for a couple weeks, but shipped fast when etrailer got them

Ive been using the Blue Ox baseplates on my Bronco for about 9 months now and the are great. As stated before they are heavy duty and secure. I have removed and remounted to mount a hidden winch mount...all good. The only negative is that factory tow hooks on the standard bumper are removed.
This fit perfectly on my 2022 Ford Bronco and is functionally good. But after being installed less than 1 year the powder coating has already "peeled" and they are rusting and do not look good. We will have to have them refinished. Would be 5 stars if the finish lasted
with out a video, reading the directions a couple times, it is a easy installation. just remove skid pan, do not mess with bumper, i installed at home on the driveway, but went to a shop to use a host.to finish fighting the bolts. iam too old too lay on the ground. if i would have started with auto host under 2 hour job..

Installed on my 22 Bronco with standard bumper. Fit fine. For cosmetic purposes I shortened the safety cable tabs about an inch and a quarter so they dont protrude so far. Looks much better and much less noticeable when not in use. I traded that Bronco for a 23 and transferred them over with no issues. Vehicle tows great with them. They dont interfere with ground clearance when on trails off road. I want to invent a winch mounting system that uses these to mount a removable winch when driving off road. Permanent mounted winch interferes with the front facing camera andor radar.
