I ordered a trailer hitch and several other items that I needed for the install from etrailer. I will not get a chance to do the install for a week or so; but I have to comment on the delivery. My package arrived in just a few days. I get lots of items shipped to me; but just the care that was taken in the packaging really impressed me. The smaller items all came neatly packaged in a separate box within the shipping container. All items were securely packaged so there was no shifting or rattling. The outside box was heavy cardboard with a perfectly placed lifting handle. I've checked all the items out and everything is there, and the quality of all the products is excellent. I have no doubt that I will be pleased with the outcome of the install itself. Very impressive so far. I will likely be ordering more products from this company in the future.

Product fit perfectly. The video was excellent and I would not have purchased the product without seeing how simple the install was. I also bought 12 Mm X 1.25 Tap And Drill Bit and was glad I did. It made cleaning out accumulates rust in bolt holes easy. Bolts lined up perfectly without adjustment some others needed. Only issue I ran into was that the plastic housing on the drivers side would not go back on once hitch was installed. 15 minutes worth of cutting out a small section of that with tin snips did the trick.

The reviews for etrailer are all 5 stars for a reason. Between the customer service, quick shipping, and helpful videos, this beats that other website hands down. Brush worked well, but wasn’t enough. I ordered the tap kit and ran it through the threads. Note: use 1/4” ratchet to carefully tap threads slowly. I used a drill on one of the threads and it seemed like the bolt is lose in the threads now. Maybe the drill was too aggressive. Long story short, if I EVER need anything trailer related, I’m coming HERE!!

The tap is fine but you're better off buying local.Reason being you dont need the drill bit.If they included a T handle to turn the tap or an adapter so you could use the tap with a ratchet drive instead it would make far more sense.I bought it anyway since the local hardware stores are all closed due to the virus and buying online elsewhere would have cost more with the shipping charges.

  • Bolts Won't Thread After Cleaning With Brush for Installing Trailer Hitch on 2007 Honda Odyssey
If you weren't able to get the 12M x 1.25 bolts for the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # E98862 started even after applying WD40 and cleaning out the weld nuts with a wire brush # 814092 on your 2007 Honda Odyssey the next step is to use the 12 mm x 1.25 Tap and Drill Bit # PTW8662 to use drill power to clean out the threads. Typically cleaning the threads with the brush will do the trick but since that isn't working for your application the tap is what you need. Let me know what...

  • What Size Thread Tap for Installing etrailer Hitch on 2008 Honda Odyssey
Weldnuts on vehicles as old as yours are going to be pretty dirty. Your plan of ordering a thread tap at same time as hitch is smart and will save you time as it's the most efficient way to clean dirty weld nuts. The thread tap size you'd need to install the etrailer hitch # E98862 is M12-1.25 which is a pretty standard size but not always same size as every vehicle. The thread tap kit part # PTW8662 is the right size though and would be exactly what you need.

  • Trouble Installing Trailer Hitch Bolts Into Weld Nuts on a 2011 Honda Odyssey
When trying to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75270 on your 2011 Honda Odyssey did you spray the WD40 and let it sit for 15 minutes or did you spray it and then scrub it with a wire brush for 15 minutes? If you haven't already try spraying the WD40 and letting it sit for about 15 minutes before cleaning it. If that doesn't work then the next option is to use the 12 mm x 1.25 Tap and Drill Bit # PTW8662 to clear out the weld nuts.

  • Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver for Carrying Bike Rack on 2007 Toyota Rav4
We do have hitches that are a fit for a 2007 Toyota Rav4, but the # 76134 you'd asked about is a fit for a later generation of the vehicle, and wouldn't be compatible with your 2007 model. For your 2007 model, I'd actually recommend the Curt Class III, part # C13149. The hitch is reasonably priced, and in my experience, I've seen that the quality of the powder coat finish used by Curt is a tiny bit better than Draw-Tite. The hitch is assembled in the USA, which is also a good thing. I've...

  • How to Clean Weld Nuts to Install Draw-Tite Class III 75235 Hitch on 2017 Toyota Rav4
This isn't an uncommon occurrence. You'll just need to remove the corrosion and the road crud from the threads of the nuts that are welded up in the frame member. Spray a generous amount of lubricant like PB Blaster up in each bolt hole, and give each one a through scrubbing with a wire brush like what's used on a battery terminal cleaner like # DW00254. You may need to do this several times. If this fails, you can use an M12x1.25 thread tap like # PTW8662 to chase the threads and remove...

The weld nuts in the frame on a 2010 Nissan Frontier are indeed M12 x 1.25 x 35mm which is what the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75282 will use. I'd simply pick up 12 mm x 1.25 Tap and Drill Bit part # PTW8662 with the hitch so you'd be covered. The drill bit won't be needed but the tap will help you out no matter how rusted the holes are.

If so then the method I recommend to clean the weld nuts is with a wire brush part # 814092 and spray lube. Before trying to chase the threads, you'll likely have success just giving the threads a good scrub with a spray lubricant like WD-40 and a battery terminal brush like # DW00254, as the vehicle isn't very old at this point and likely won't have a ton of road crud and corrosion built up in the threads. The trailer hitch for a 2016 Nissan Murano like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98907 installs using five M12-1.25" bolts. That said, the weld nuts that these bolts will thread into are located on the bottom of the frame and subjected to the elements. Therefore, even when cleaned with a wire brush they can still be too gummed up to thread. It is critical that you thread the bolts in correctly so I recommend using a thread tap part # PTW8662 and cleaning the threads further before...

The installation bolts should be M12 x 1.25 x 30, a hardware store should be able to confirm that the bolts you were provided are that size for you, but it's probably not necessary. In the almost 14 years I've worked here, I've heard of less than a handful of cases where the incorrect hardware was included in a hitch kit, so it's incredibly likely that there's still some rust and debris up in the frame nuts that are preventing your from getting those bolts to thread.
