Comments
At the top of the grease gun, next to the spout is the bleeder screw. Make sure that screw is tight. If it isnt snugged up, itll allow air in the cylinder, which will prevent the grease from being drawn up into the grease gun.

  • Recommended Grease for Hub and Drum
The grease I highly recommend for you is the LubriMatic Wheel Bearing Grease for Disc and Drum Brake Applications # L11465. This is the highest-rated grease and will do a fantastic job; I also recommend using the LubriMatic Standard-Duty, Lever Action Grease Gun # L30200. I have added links to video reviews of both the grease and grease gun for you to check out.

  • Do I Really Need To Repack Bearings Every 12 Months If I Have Low Mileage On Trailer
The bearings should really be repacked every 12,000 miles or 12 months whichever comes first even if you are not putting 12,000 miles on the trailer. It still a good idea to routinely repack the bearings every 12 months because the grease breaks down over time regardless of the mileage which can lead to bearing failure. I have attached a couple of helpful articles for your reference.

  • How Often Should Trailer Hub Bearings be Greased with EZ Lube Spindles
Standard tapered trailer wheel bearings are recommended to be re-packed with fresh bearing grease about every year or every 12,000 miles under normal use. In certain conditions this interval could be shorter, such as if you routinely tow the trailer under conditions of extreme heat or near its maximum load capacity. This and other recommended trailer maintenance procedures are outlined in the linked article, which may interest you. With the EZ lube zerk fitting you'll want to pump grease...

  • Will Outer Bearing Push Out If Grease Is Installed and the Spindle Nut Isn't On
Bearings fit pretty tightly to the spindle as the clearances are very tight. Combined with that and the vertical pressure of the hub on the spindle/bearing it's held in place well and the grease would not push it out. "With the EZ lube zerk fitting you'll want to pump grease until you begin to see the outer bearing move or you see grease seeping through the outer bearing. If you pump the grease slowly and rotate the hub, you should not blow the grease seal. Once you see the grease seeping...

  • How Much Grease is Needed in an EZ Lube Axle
I can help you with greasing up your EZ Lube Axle. First thing I would check would be that the grease is not coming out of the back of the axle through the seal. If this is the case you will need to replace the seal. Our tubes like # L11390 have 14 ounces which should be more than enough to fill your axle. You will want to continue to pump grease until you begin to see the outer bearing move or you see grease seeping through the outer bearing. Make sure you pump the grease slowly...

  • Oil Bath or Grease for HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers
In regards to the bearings, trailer bearings nowadays are generally made overseas; there may be some exceptions here and there, but they generally aren't standard trailer bearings. The bearings and seals that come with the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers # HSE7K-T1 are of the highest quality and you won't have any issues. As far as changing from grease to oil bath, that is not recommended for trailer hubs. Oil bath hubs can be problematic because they...

  • Grease Fitting Locations for Curt A20 Fifth Wheel Hitch
The zerk fittings for the Curt A20 hitch part # C16140 are located on the front of each jaw.The jaws must be in the closed and locked position for the zerks to be accessible. • What is the Best Grease for Trailer Bearings
Even though I cannot comment specifically on the grease you used because I am not familiar with it, I can tell you the best grease for trailer bearings is a a grease with a rating of GC-LB, which just means it is made to withstand very high temperatures (like what occur on a trailer hub that has massive RPMs when travelling, even at slower speeds) so it will continue to lubricate instead of quickly dissipating like you see with lower rated greases. The best grease for trailer bearings...

  • How Often to Add Grease to Hub with Bearing Buddy
Some Bearing Buddies have an Auto Check feature that uses a blue ring that will be flush with the top of the cylinder when full of grease. If it is not at the top you would add grease until the blue ring is pushed outward. If your Bearing Buddies do not have this feature you would just need to insert grease using the fitting at the end until grease starts to ooze out from the front of the hub. If grease leaks out of the back then that indicates that the seal is likely blown and will...

For the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16536, Curt does recommend that black graphite grease be used for the jaw before each individual use and every 1,000 miles thereafter. Black graphite grease can usually be obtained at a local auto parts or hardware store and will probably just be labeled as "graphite grease". The brake assemblies that I recommend to replace your AL-KO brakes are # AKEBRK-35R and # AKEBRK-35L. Theses are the brake assemblies for both the left and right sides of the axle. I like these brake assemblies over the others we carry for two reasons, the shoe pads are machined rather than clipped and the magnets on theses brakes are thicker. The machined shoe pad will wear better and are sturdier than the clipped end shoe pad. The thicker magnet will wear better and in turn last longer...
