Trifecta 2.0 Tonneau Cover

The Trifecta 2.0 combines a soft cover look, a hard cover folding design, and an easy-on/easy-off mounting system for a truck bed cover that is both simple and stylish. The 2.0 features clamps that lock and are easy to install and remove, a strong frame and rugged hinges to support the cover, and snap-on rubber seals for better weather protection. This custom-fit tonneau looks sporty, shields your bed and cargo from the elements, and boosts fuel efficiency. It folds up two-thirds of the way or removes easily for those times when you need to haul bulky cargo or tow with your fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch.

Self-Contained, Rail-Less Tonneau Cover

Simple is definitely better with the Trifecta. This tonneau is completely self-contained, meaning no assembly is required. You don't have to mount separate rails and clamps to your truck bed side rails. And there is absolutely no drilling required. No tools, no hardware, no hassle. And when you remove the cover, there is no indication that it was ever there. You can use your truck for work during the day and get a clean, sporty look for your night out. And you can quickly and easily remove the cover to transport large cargo in a pinch.

Trifecta 2.0 Tonneau Cover clamp demo

The secret behind the Trifecta's simplicity and versatility is the built-in clamps. These T-style clamps fold up and store inside the bows of the front and rear panels of the cover. Just pop out the clamps, pull them down, and hook them under the bottom lip of your truck bed's side rails. With all 4 clamps attached, the tonneau cover will remain securely in place.

Convenient Folding Design

Trifecta 2.0 Tonneau Cover closed-opened

The Trifecta's tri-fold design lets you easily access the rear of your truck bed. Just open the tailgate, reach under the cover, and undo the spring-loaded EZ-Lock clamps to release the rear panel. Fold the clamps back into the panel's bow. Then just lift the panel up to access the rear of your bed. The middle panel doesn't latch down, so it too can be easily lifted up.

When it comes time to haul larger cargo and you need to travel with your truck bed open, the Trifecta is versatile enough to let you do so without your having to remove the tonneau. Fold up the cover from back to front and secure it at the cab with the integrated buckles to free up two-thirds of your bed. For full bed access, just undo the Jaw-Grip clamps at the cab and lift the cover off completely. Then store it until next time. Note: You cannot drive around with only the rear panel open.

If the need suddenly arises to transport large cargo and you need full use of your truck bed, the Trifecta can easily be folded up, removed, and laid in your bed, giving you the ability to transport both your cargo and your tonneau cover at the same time.

To close the cover, simply fold down the panels front to back and reattach the EZ-Lock clamps on the rear panel. When your tailgate is closed and locked, no one will be able to get in to open the cover, thus helping to safeguard your truck bed and its contents.

Sturdy, All-Weather Construction

Trifecta 2.0 Cover Construction

The Trifecta 2.0 is built to last and comes with a lifetime warranty. The strong, lightweight frame is constructed of aircraft grade aluminum. The frame and bows have a black powder coat finish to protect against rust. The rugged hinges are made of glass-filled nylon with protective padding.

The black vinyl skin comes permanently attached to the frame so you don't have to worry about any snaps coming undone or the fabric becoming untucked and blowing in the wind. The cover is sewn into the perimeter frame and corners instead of using the hook-and-loop strips found on other tonneaus. This integrated tuck system improves the appearance of the cover at the hinges and corners.

The skin is constructed of heavy-duty, leather-grain fabric that has been tested to withstand extreme heat and cold. The 4 clamps are made of sturdy, fiberglass-reinforced nylon. And rubber seals run around the perimeter of the cover to help keep water out of your truck bed. These seals snap on for a more secure fit when compared with seals that attach with adhesives.

Easy, No-Drill Installation

Trifecta 2.0 track system install

The Trifecta comes fully assembled and couldn't be easier to install. Included brackets allow you to install the cover using your truck's factory rail system. Simply insert threaded aluminum blocks into the rail system and use 2 bolts per block to attach the brackets. Lay the folded cover across your truck bed behind the cab, and then secure the front panel to your truck bed rail system using the built-in Jaw-Grip clamps. These clamps come pre-installed in the front bow of the tonneau and attach directly to the brackets in your truck rail system. Align the T-clamps with the brackets and hand-tighten the wing nuts until the cover is snug.

Trifecta 2.0 track system install rear

Once you've attached the front panel to your truck, fold the rest of the cover out and secure the rear panel using the built-in EZ-Lock clamps. Just pop the clamps out of the rear panel's bow so that they hang down near the brackets in the rail system of your truck. Pull down each spring-loaded clamp individually and hook it under the upper lip of the bracket. The EZ-Lock clamp automatically locks the cover to the truck when you release it and is easy to use. To release the clamps, just tug on each one and detatch it. Then you can fold up the cover. That's it - no drilling, no hardware, no hassle.

Held up so far after 1 year of ownership and 1 Maine winter.

Pros: Fit and ease of install. Completely removable in 2 minutes with no tools. Bed stays almost completely dry. Material has stayed in good condition no rips tears waves or fading.

Cons: Air gets under it no matter how good the seal is.

I have tried a few other brands in the past and am very impressed with the ease of installation and how secure this cover is. Compared to Velcro models I feel this cover has a huge advantage when traveling in high wind conditions.

This is the second time I have bought from etrailer and have been very impressed with their follow up and service. Their prices are as competitive as anyone too. I’m sure I will buy again from etrailer in the future!

Cover looks great and works well

by:

I ordered the Extang Trifecta 2.0 Tonneau Cover due to the fact I had an Extang Trifold cover on my former vehicle. I received 10 years of service with this cover no tears or issues. No the truck was not a garage Queen. Spent its entire life exposed to the Northern Ohio weather. After placing my order I received a phone call from Marti at Etrailer informing me that there was a 20 day lead time for manufacture of cover. She wanted me to be informed in case I would like to change order. I went ahead an OK'd the order. The cover arrived within a week of order from the manufacturer. Another good job completed by Etrailer! By the way the cover looks great! Fits as expected!
Thanks Again

by:

I've had this extang trifecta tonneau cover on my Dakota for over a year now and absolutely love it. It fits perfect and doesn't leak. It's still in great condition, even after the crazy hot summer and frigid winter here in new england. It still functions perfectly as well.

My previous cover was a snap button type and there were over 40 buttons to snap or unsnap to put the cover on and take it off. This trifold cover makes life so much easier.

I definitely recommend lubricating the threaded rod that's on the slide handle to make sure you can easily pull to lock or unlock the last portion of the cover.

Great cover!

by:

The product arrived ahead of schedule and after having watched your install videos I was able to install it without needing the written instructions. It looks great.
The instructions that came with the cover did not show how the bracket mounted on the Ridgeline, but the video you guys produced covered it well. The only issue I had was that the Honda bed upper front hold down point brackets did not fit over the Tonneau Cover brackets, so I left them off. This may be because they strengthened the cover bracket by putting a notch in it. My plan is to grind the Honda bracket to allow space for the obstruction.
Thanks again I am thrilled with how easy it was!

by:

The installation is as easy as it said it was and it fit perfect. It is a great looking tonneau cover and reduced the in cab noise which is a benefit I had not even considered. The shipping and tracking while in route was outstanding, it arrived way before I expected it this time of year. I would recommend it to anyone.

by:

Very happy with the cover; good quality and has held up well after a year. Installation was very frustrating as the brackets that came with the cover did not match the instructions and it looked like the brackets wouldn't work at all. I Contacted Extang and they sent me the correct instructions. A picture is worth a thousand words and the install went smoothly after that. But why not just put the correct instructions in the box?

I have owned this cover for a year. It rides on my 2014 Tacoma. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase, but I do have a few minor gripes.

1. The metal brackets that ship with the cover are clearly "universal" as in "they fit universally badly on all makes of pickup." I had a machinist friend cut the unnecessary edges off of them and round the corners to spare my knuckles when I was tightening the cover screws in place (near the cab) to install/remove the cover. This was a worthwhile improvement (if you have a bench grinder and/or a machinist friend).

2. After about 6 months of use, the cover seems to not want to sit in the center of the bed anymore. It rides to one side, which doesn't render it useless, but is annoying and doesn't look great. I loosened the front screws, reseated it in the center and it ended up on one side again after a couple of weeks. As it is mostly an aesthetic issue, I just gave up.

3. The foam cushions under the hinges are starting to tear where they rub on the edge of the bed. Not a big deal, but not a great sign for quality and longevity.

Things I like:

1. Compared to the roll-up kind (owned two in the past), this is very easy to open and close.

2. In hot and cold weather, the vinyl remains taught, and it held up fine under significant snow last winter.

3. It's really not a lot of work to fully remove the cover--you'll just want to make sure you leave it behind before you go, because it's still large when fully folded.

4. It keeps things pretty dry (at least as dry as other tonneaus I have owned).

5. Despite my gripes about the included mounting brackets, I do really like that the cover mounts to the Tacoma's bed-mounted channel system without totally compromising the adjustable Toyota attachment points. With the cover brackets installed, you can't slide the attachment points all the way forward and back, but you can slide them forward and back between the cover's mounting brackets, which provides a few useful positions.

Overall, given its value and general utility, I would probably buy this cover again.

by:

Had it installed for almost a year and do like it. Two complaints: (1) even with the cover installed correctly as I'm driving at highway speeds I can see the cover rippling (like ocean waves) from the air leaking past the rubber seal, and (2) when I open lid to the built in storage box in the bed of my Honda Ridgeline the left side of the lid rubs up against the tonneau cover metal bar somewhat rubbing off the black paint.

by:

The tonneau cover is simple and fast to remove and put back on and that was an important consideration in deciding which one to buy. The slowest part of installing it is positioning it evenly on both sides. It is necessary to remove when mounting my racks for hauling kayaks. I also remove it when hauling firewood to keep from possibly damaging it. I have noticed some water drops in the truck bed after raining between the second and third sections on the truck bed rail. Tightening the rear clamps up might fix the leak but I haven't tried it yet. The rear section does not fit snug against the bed rail. Over all I am pleased with the product.

by:

Excellent product and fast shipping.

by:

Nice cover, but it should be slightly longer to be a perfect fit on my 2021 Silverado. It’s always been just a little short for a perfect fit, only 1-2 inches in overall length would be better in my opinion. My last truck (2016 Silverado)had a Trifecta cover that fit much better.

by:

I have previously owned two Trifecta bed covers. They fit and performed great. The new 2.0 version is not up to par. First, I had to move the forward bar about 4" back to get it to fit. The original position was in line with the bed liner and metal bed structure. The new improved metal forward clamps when tigntened fully, do not pull the front of the cover tightly against the bed top. This may or may not explain why there is a gap in the forward corners between the cover and bed top. It's raining now or I would have an answer. I plan to shorten the aluminum front clamp, add a spacer bushing to shorten the travel of the forward clamp and replace the thumb knobs with some with metal thread inserts as those supplied have plastic threads which are very hard to operate. Other than having to re engineer the forward mounting system it is a great bed cover.

by:

Product fits well. The rear spring loaded latches work but feel flimsy. I am concerned about how well they will last. The forward tiedown latches fit, but in my opinion should have a rubber/plastic lining in the part that hooks onto the truck bed lip. I am putting in plastic to product truck paint.

by:

This cover has served its purpose very well. Was easy to install and operate. Shows no signs of deterioration even thou it has been in the sun for most of the year. It does not seem to ever leak as everything stays dry. The downside for this cover is that the forward third of the bed is always covered. That has not been a problem but it is a limitation. This has been a good cover and I could recommend it for general use.

by:

I was not happy with the cover. It flopped in the wind like a tarp. I did enjoy the easy installation and the quick delivery from etrailer. I sent it back and 're ordered the solid fold cover and am very happy with it. Thank you!

This is my fourth tonneau cover, but my first Extang. Also, this was the first tonneau cover that required any kind of assembly; the assembly was the rail system that the cover attaches to. Extang provided pictures of the assembly, but very little in real instruction. I had a little difficulty assembling and attaching the first rail, but only took about 5 minutes on the second one. The covers is extremely lightweight, and looks very good. I really like the rear spring loaded clamps; other brands are much harder to operate. I would give Extang a 5 star rating.

Before a week or two ago, I'd never heard of etrailer.com. I happened to find this site, just before ordering from Amazon.com. Amazon had the same exact price, with free shipping, but was going to charge sales tax that I didn't have to pay with etrailer.com. Also, other sites had no mention of the $40 rebate that was on etrailer.com's website. The total savings on this item from etrailer.com was $72.48. I now have etrailer.com saved as a favorite on my computer. I would also give etrailer.com a 5 star rating.

Thanks, etrailer.com

Camper tie down install. Simple. Be that much better if you included star washer for back bumper tie downs. Would make it 30% faster and easier on install.

by:

Excellent cover. Fit my F-250 perfectly. After one year of use in Northeastern Indiana weather (2 winters) it still looks & works great! Truck was hit in left rear corner while parked but no damage to cover. It simply moved a little bit allowing it to survive intact. Love my cover!

by:

Easy to install. Has held up to the weather. Easy to roll back cover. Would buy again.

by:

Great product. Easy bolt on installation front hitch receiver. makes it easier to get my trailers in the back yard in such tight spaces.

by:

The tonneau cover is great! A perfect fit and a quality product. It was drop shipped directly from the manufacturer and I still got it very quickly. Thanks for another great experience trailer!

by:

Works as advertised, easy to unlock or relock

by:

No problems whatsoever. No leaks from rain or car wash. Folds back easily.
On installation just be very careful to get full even square coverage before tightening.
