Specs:
This hybrid-style cover combines the benefits of a hard tonneau and a soft tonneau into one. It opens faster and removes easier than a hard tonneau. The premium, 5-layer woven polyester and vinyl fabric over aluminum slats provides better protection for your cargo when compared with a standard soft cover. The tonneau rails have 15-degree angles for an ultra-low-profile look, and safely latches at the tailgate and the midway point of your truck bed provide enhanced security for your gear.
Strong, Convenient Hybrid Design
This hybrid-style cover blends the durability and security of a hard cover with the flexibility and convenience of a soft cover. The 3/4" thick, hinged aluminum slats are strong enough to protect your cargo yet offer the flexibility to enable you to roll the cover up for full bed access in seconds. The fabric top over the slats provides a seamless look and helps to protect your bed and cargo from the elements.
Ultra-Low-Profile Design
The side rails are angled at 15 degrees so the cover sits just 1/2" above your truck bed to create a streamlined look. This aerodynamic design - when paired with a covered truck bed - also reduces wind noise and drag and helps to improve fuel economy.
Quick Truck Bed Access
To access your truck bed, simply pull one of the release cables at the tailgate to release the latches. There are cables on the driver's and passenger's side so you can open the tailgate from either side of your vehicle. The cover can then be rolled up in seconds to store at the cab. This allows you to haul large or tall cargo without the need to completely remove the cover.
To store the cover, roll it tight and secure it with the attached safety straps. Then, secure the ends of the safety straps to the retaining loops on the side of the rails.
You can remove the cover completely in seconds without tools. Simply slide the quick-release guides on the underside of the header away from the side rails to release the cover.
Durable and Stylish Construction
The premium, 5-layer polyester and vinyl fabric layer of the cover is resistant to UV rays and inclement weather. This state-of-the-art material has been tested to withstand extreme temperatures from -40 degrees to 120 degrees F. The material is highly resistant to dirt, and it will maintain a clean appearance more easily than a standard vinyl cover.
The black fabric top layer and all-black aluminum slats offer a "blacked out" look when the cover is rolled up. The strong, woven material keeps the slats perfectly aligned to ensure that the cover will roll up evenly every time. Standard soft covers can get lopsided as you roll them up.
The hybrid cover's weight capacity also matches many hard covers that do not conveniently roll up. It is strong enough to hold up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight when it's rolled out. The aluminum slats also protect your cargo from being damaged by hail and falling objects.
Enhanced Security
The hard aluminum slats of this cover provide better protection against theft when compared with a soft cover that can be cut open with a knife. There are slam latches and additional security latches to provide maximum security.
To secure your truck bed, press down on the corner ends of the cover to fasten the 2 slam latches at the tailgate. The latches will lock the cover to the vehicle when used in conjunction with a closed and locked tailgate.
There are additional security latches located at the mid-point of the bed. These latches lock automatically with the slam latches, so you won't have to crawl to the middle of the bed to lock them. These side rail latches prevent thieves from pulling up the cover and sticking their hands underneath to get into your truck bed.
Easy, Clamp-On Installation
The Sentry side rails mount to your truck bed rails with bolt-on clamps for an effortless, no-drill installation. These in-bed rails do not overlap your truck bed stake pockets, so you can still use the stake pockets to mount accessories such as tie-down anchors.
The side rails have built-in lips to make sure that they stay square with the bed rails as you tighten the clamps. This self-leveling design makes it easy to install the rails, and it ensures the cover rolls evenly every time.
Installing the cover assembly to the side rails is simple. Place the rolled-up cover on the rails near the bulkhead of your truck. Insert the screws on the leading edge of the cover into the screw holes on the rails. Then slide the quick-release guides on the cover assembly until they lock in place under the rails.
Unroll the cover completely, and close the tailgate. Push down on the end of the cover to make sure both slam latches lock. To prevent wind from lifting the cover, press down along the length of both rails before driving. This will secure the hook-and-loop fasteners to the rails.

Hard, roll-up cover with premium, 5-layer fabric and thick aluminum slats is stylish and durable. Low-profile, self-leveling rails ensure easy install. Latches at tailgate and mid-bed offer enhanced security. Cover removes in seconds without tools. The cover is great,no leaks, looks new after 1 year, etc. It's a great cover and I will always have one on every truck moving forward.
Side note, I experienced terrible customer service when I bought this. Also, etrailer is no longer a local store and have entered the online market with numerous quality competitors.
Overall this has been a great hard tonneau cover. Installation wasn't too difficult, it's not 100% water/dust proof, but I don't think any tonneau cover ever is. It stood up to several heavy snowfalls over the winter without any issues and it still looks good with no noticeable fading of the vinyl covering. The roll-up convenience is great when you need the whole bed compared to a fold-up tonneau that can block the rear window when folded all the way up. The only issue I have run into is occasionally the rear most clips that lock the tonneau down can slide out slightly from their fully seated position and it can make it difficult to close. It's easy to push the clip back into place, but the first time it happened it was a little frustrating.
The cover is great and looks good too. It’s very easy to install and hit low to the bed rails of the truck. The interlocking aluminum strips make the cover heavier. But the fact that the lock together and the is locking mechanism in a couple places along the rail add to the security of the cover. There are two quick releases at the end by the cab allowing me the ability to remove and install the cover quickly. Clicking the rear end in place is quick and easy.
Installing was easy and instructions were very helpful. Product looks great! And more secure than the other products offered by Truxedo
If it was practical to return it, I probably would. I am a farmer and a mechanic, so I can live with it, but not very good. Install was complex and baffling as I have a Ridgeline which is not standard. The worst feature is the back latch or uses a cable pull and two sliding latches which are just trash. Poor design, bad functionality and breaks easily. Mine jammed up and would not unlock, and ended up breaking the cheap plastic lock assembly to get in, result of poor design. Still jams and easier to just leave it unlatched and unlocked. Small rubber seal at endgate fell off and lost. Looks good, secure when it works. Expected more.
Originally ordered a Bakflip G2 from another retailer which had huge gaps, barely latched and I could stick my hand in and open when the tailgate was closed. After finally getting a return authorization I ended up ordering the Sentry CT and it was an easy install and perfect fit for my 2017 Ram 1500 w/ Rambox.
I love my truck bed cover! I was a little hesitant to buy something online but the reviews were good and the description was exactly what I wanted so I took the chance. Everything went well. The directions for installation were explicit and easy to follow. Everything lined up perfectly and operated as expected, especially the waterproof part as only a few drops of water have ever made it inside the bed and only in extreme downpours with excessive wind. It has been a year and the only thing I wish I had done differently was get it earlier! I bought it before a trip and ended up installing it in freezing temperatures . . .
Very sharp look and still looks and operates great after a year.
This is a well made bed cover. Easy to use, solid and secure, but not in the way when open. I love that it does not block my back window when driving with it open. The fabric on top of the aluminum is high quality and looks good. Highly recommend, I'm actually happy there was not a back flip for my truck, as I wanted to ordered one, but this is a better solution.
Easy to install and happy with the look and feel of the quality
shipping was very fast as ususal, it arrived and the box had damage but a close inspection verified no issues with product. installed by myself a little akward but do-able after reading the instructions and watching the install video it took about 45 minutes to install. There were some fitment issues as the tonneau cover would not stay closed and the tailgate was very hard to open so I shimmed the back corners of the rails with large washers just inside by the tailgate 2 on the right side 1 on the left, I also had to move the rails back about 1/4 inch to ease the opening of the tailgate. So all installation issues are resolved but only 4 stars because the locking mechanism is less than robust. I got the material finish instead of the vinyl it looks very nice. It has rained several time since installed and it keeps most of the water out, what water there was came in by the tailgate I installed this on a 2015 F350 with 8 foot box, it is much easier to open and close than a bak hard folding top.
The only minor annoyance is that you have to open the cover a few inches every time you close the tailgate or it pinches the rubber gasket and puts undue pressure on the cover.
I really like the design of this tonneau cover. The roll-up design allows me to see out my back window when hauling items higher than the truck bed. Also, it was able to keep my truck bed dry during a significant rainstorm. I would suggest holding the tonneau by the fabric on the sides when rolling closed opposed to placing your hand on the ribbing to reduce the chances of pinching your fingers.
I have been on a couple of trips where I've needed to open and close the cover repeatedly. It seems to be quite durable and the locking mechanisms work as designed.
Installation was a little more difficult than anticipated since my drop-in bedliner reduced the width of the truck bed between the side-rails at the front of the truck bed where the tonneau attaches. After finding a wider area between the bed-rails, I was able to wedge the the top of the tonneau into the side-rails and push the tonneau through the side-rail track towards the front of the truck bed. It allowed we to wedge the bedliner wider increasing the width between the side rails. I was able to install this by myself in about 90 minutes even with the complications.
Installation was pretty straight forward, around 30-45 minutes total. Once installed, the look of the cover is fantastic. Very low profile and the matte black finish on the cover material looks great.
There was a factory quality defect with the installation of the side latches that run up both sides of the cover. Each latch has a cable that connects from the cover to the side latch. As the cover is rolled up, tension gets applied to that cable and it releases the latch allowing you to seamlessly roll-up the cover. On my cover, two of the cables were too loose and would never get enough tension to release the side latches. I could only roll-up the cover about two feet before it would stick. The cables are not adjustable so you cannot fix this issue without new parts.
I contacted Truxedo and they sent out a repair kit for the side latches. I was able to install the new cables and the cover functioned as it should. It was a total of 24 days from the time of ordering my cover until it was fully functional.
I am happy with the look of the cover. I have not had a chance to see how weather tight it is. Hopefully the issue with the side latches is a one-off defect and not representative of the overall quality of this product. I have made several purchases from etrailer and this is the only hiccup I have ever had.
Loving this cover. It's super-simple to use - just roll it closed and run your hand down the sides to press the hook & loop fasteners down. I wanted a retractable cover, but didn't want the big box taking up space in the bed of my truck. This cover is easily-removed so I have the full bed available for use. The only downside I've found is that it can't be left in any partially-open positions (like my old retractable could).
Very nice cover and installed very easy. Was installing with a Tracrac SR and etrailer said it would fit in my truck with the Tractac. What they failed to tell me was that I may have to remove and adjust the rails for the Tracrac. Basically had to do a new install on the Tracrac.
I had one of these on my last truck and loved it! When I got a truck with a longer bed, I didn’t hesitate to purchase the same thing in the new size.
Build quality is great. Install instructions were accurate and clear. It looks fantastic. I'd recommend it. Also, etrailer was great to work with.
E-trailer has been fantastic to work with on this purchase. The 3rd party vendor took an extremely long time to fill the order. However, the staff at E-trailer was always able to answer my questions and work with me every step of the way. Surprisingly enough (actually, not really), they provided much better customer support then the vendor of the product I was buying. They will always be my first choice when purchasing products for my truck.
Very easy to install. Awesome product. Slightly loose back towards the tailgate in the middle where there aren’t any latches. Haven’t been able to test the water resistance yet but seems 100 times better than my previous tri-fold.
Purchased about 6 months ago and have been using it since. Once you install it correctly and the left and right sides are balanced, it closes with the flick of the wrist. We are definitely pleased and would purchase it again. My wife who can barely reach the cover of our 2022 gmc sierra 2500 standard bed has no problem rolling this up. Just make sure to close the tailgate before closing the top, otherwise you'll crunch the molding on the top. Enjoy!
Excellent product...easy install...keeps equipment covered and out of elements...keeps everything dry, even when going through truck wash....More secure than the non-backed covers.
Very high quality product. When rolled out, the cover rubber gears did not stay in the track near the tail gate. Had to do some improvising (i.e. little cutting and filing) to get the cover to snap closed easily.
Easy to install and looks great!
Easy to install, perfect fit for the new Tundra 22 6.5ft bed, looks awesome and it's super slim. Seems like it will also last a while.
Initially I thought I could have the rear seal flap on top of the tailgate, but it's much easer to open and close the gate without lifting the cover if it's 90deg folded won.
Rides nice when stored as well, though it does take a bit of space (bike tires do fit nice under the folded/rolled cover).
