Hello, neighbor. This is Curt with etrailer and today, we're gonna take a look at the Lomax Stance Hard Tonneau cover. Now, if you've had any experience with this tonneau cover or have questions about it, go ahead and leave those in the comments below. We love to take those and use them to help our other neighbors make the best decision for themselves. Now, if you have a truck that you're using quite a bit and you really want to be able to protect any of your gear or cargo in the back, a hard tonneau cover is a really good way to go. It's going to be a great anti-theft measure, especially as opposed to a soft tonneau cover, which while it'll protect from the elements, can be slashed open with a knife and somebody could get in and take your stuff outta the back if they really wanted to.
A hard tonneau cover like this is gonna eliminate that. It's made of aluminum. It's got a nice diamond pattern on the top. It really gives it a nice look, especially on a truck like this and it is gonna have a capacity on the top of around 400 pounds. Now, it is also a tri-fold cover and we'll show ya how that works and it also has the ability to fold completely open and anchor to points that we have installed up here on the roof.
So, before I get into the tailgate and show ya how it operates, I also wanted to point out that it is ladder rack compatible. It's gonna sit above your bed rails and it is gonna be outta the way enough that these stake pockets are gonna be accessible. Now, as we drop our tailgate here, we're gonna find a latch on the side right here. It's gonna drop this string down. We're gonna be able to pull that and remove our first section.
The second section has no latch. We'll be able to lift that right outta place. And this is generally what you're gonna do for bed access. This'll be enough to reach, ya know, your fifth wheel or anything like that if ya have one and give you a really good amount of space to get most of your stuff in and outta the vehicle. However, there are gonna be times where you're gonna need use of the entire bed.
And for that, we're gonna go ahead and put it in its complete upright position. It's easiest to do it from the bed. First, we're gonna go ahead and unlatch using the string right here. We'll pull that down, unlatch it, bring it into an upright position and once we're here, there are these little braces here that we could put down on this installed piece that we have here and what that's gonna do is keep it in an upright position while also not letting it rest against the back of the cab and the light that we have back there. So, once I have that deployed, while it's not recommended to drive in this position, if you needed full bed access, this would be the way to get it done. So, as we're gonna lower this back down, we're just gonna drop it into place. We'll make sure it latches completely on both sides, unfold the next section and as I'm unfolding, you notice that the entire tonneau cover is gonna be lined with this rubber seal. That's gonna do a great job of keeping out the elements and keeping your cargo dry. So now that we're gonna be here at the final section, all you're gonna need to do is get it dropped right down into place. (cover clicks) Make sure it latches here on both sides. And close our tailgate. It's really just that simple. This is an excellent choice for any truck. If you really are serious about protecting your cargo and keeping it outta the elements and keeping it safe from any of the uh, worse elements of society, criminals and thieves and such. After watching an installation video it was relatively easy to install in a short time. However, the instruction booklet need clearer pictures, and the side rails did not have indicators of which side they each needed to be installed.

I just installed my cover today. It looks really good on the truck. So sleek....not like the canvas ones. It was super easy to install. All you have to do is clamp (they give you the clamps) rails to the sides of your truck bed and drop the cover into the rails and tighten it down. I can not say enough about Etrailer's customer service. Originally they sent me the wrong cover and they took responsibility for the error. I had several emails and calls from Marti in customer service...even on the weekend. She did incredible work to make it right. In the end, although it took a long time, I am a satisfied customer.

The tonneau cover fits tight and the installation was pretty straight forward. My only complaint is the tailgate will not open remotely because the seals are very tight between the tailgate and the cover..Hyundai Santa Cruz
Excellent cover. Easy to install and use. No drain tubing needs to be installed for the Lomax Stance cover. I would recommend this cover over other trifold covers, especially if you have the Ford bed liner.
I like the look and the convenience provided by the tonneau cover on my Maverick Lobo. However it took a lot longer to install and I had to call the company to get clarification on the front seal, the instructions were not clear.
I suggested that it would be easier to install the clamps if you taped the bottom of the clamp to create a hinge and prevent miss-alignment of the "teeth". This made it much easier to position the clamp and tighten the nut.
