Lionshead Roadside Assistance Program

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

1-Year No Excuses Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.

The Nitrogen Advantage

Nitro Fill Logo

The NitroFill inflation process filters out oxygen to ensure that this tire-and-wheel assembly is filled with 95 to 99.9 percent pure nitrogen. Nitrogen-inflated tires maintain pressure better than tires inflated with standard air. This makes them ideal for RVs and trailers that are driven infrequently or sit in storage for long periods of time. Other benefits of consistent tire pressure are better fuel economy, improved braking and handling, decreased chance of tire failure, and longer tire life.

A tire inflated with standard air, which contains oxygen, is prone to fluctuations in pressure due to loss of air over time and ambient temperature changes. Nitrogen-inflated tires don't experience these fluctuations for a couple reasons. First, nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, so they are less likely to permeate a rubber tire. Second, nitrogen is a dry gas, so it won't allow condensation to build inside the tire. A tire inflated with standard air may have moisture in it, which means it is more likely to be affected by ambient temperature.

In addition, the moisture that can collect in a tire inflated with standard air will contribute to corrosion of the wheel and deterioration of the rubber tire from the inside out. A nitrogen-inflated tire-and-wheel assembly is less likely to experience this type of decay. Less moisture in the tire also means reduced running temperatures.

If necessary, you can top off the tire with standard compressed air. But to maintain the benefits of nitrogen, the tire must be refilled with nitrogen.

Beveled Stud Holes

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Product was exactly what was shown. It matched what i have on my trailer and was what i wanted as i travel twice a year to bring my daughter to college. I wanted the same tire and rim so all tires wear and travel the same as it is 1000 miles each way. The tires get a lot of long distance use. 615973

The trailer is coming out of storage from the winter. I have 4000 miles on them so far so good.Getting ready soon to travel again to get my daughter. Hopefully the trip will be uneventful and all will be good in the world when i travel. Great tires and rims will definitely buy more when i need them.

Excellent tire and rim, Excellent transaction from start to finish. Great e mails along the way. Bought as a spare but its' a 10 ply so swapped out it out with an 8 ply on my dump trailer. Next paycheck going to pick up another for fulltime use on my single axle dump trailer, guess I'll have two spare now,, but well worth the extra level of insurance with heavy loads. 665287

The boat trailer that I recently purchased came with one bad tire and no spare so before I hit the road for some summer fun I bought two of these tires and rims so I would have an extra for a spare. I mounted the tires and hit the road. They are heavy duty and have a great ride, would recommend to family and friends, great product. 793534

  • Does the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with Wheel Need To Be Balanced
The Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" Silver Mod Wheel part # LHAW124 does come balanced via matching the heavy spot on the wheel with the light spot on the tire. They do not come machine balanced. However, machine balancing is not needed for trailer tires as this is only really needed for steer axles on a motor vehicle. The heavy and light spot balancing will be sufficient for use on a trailer so you don't have to worry about taking them to a shop to have them balanced.

  • Mod Wheel and Trailer Tire Size 225/75-15 Recommendation
The tire and wheel combos we carry are not machined balanced. You can have the tire and wheel combos balanced at a local tire shop if you wanted to. What some tire manufacturers will do is line up the light spot on the tire with the heavy spot on the wheel. This is a type of balancing but not like how car tires are balanced (with weights on a balancing machine). This is the norm for nearly all trailers on the road. • Recommended 15 Inch Trailer Tires and Wheels for Long Life
We like to keep our prices pretty competitive. We recommend that trailer tires be replaced every 6 or 7 years regardless of how worn they are. Since trailer tires are often not used everyday, like vehicle tires, a lot of times they get old before they wear out. Tires break down over time just from being exposed to the elements like sunlight and saltwater. A trailer wheel will last much longer than the tires, often for many years, depending on how the trailer is used and the construction...

  • Trailer Rim and Tire Recommendation for Tire Size 225/75-15
We have quite a few 15 inch trailer wheels that would work for the tire size 225/75-15 that you have. What you'll need to know is the bolt pattern of the wheels you currently have so that you can find a wheel that will bolt right up. Most likely it's a 6 lug pattern as that is the most common for that size. For that the part # LHAW124 would be a great solution. It's a tire in the size you needed mounted to a wheel with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. What makes this tire stand out is...

  • Choosing Correct Trailer Tire Load Range and Speed Rating
Given the same weight load on them, tires of Load Range E will tend to run cooler than tires of Load Range D. The same is true between a LR D tire and a LR C, etc. Since heat is a trailer tire's worst enemy and the root cause for most failures, using a tire with a higher-rated Load Range is a good idea when you have the option. Tires that are operated right at their maximum load capacity will run hotter than ones that are working at only 75% of their capacity. Your total trailer weight...

You would either need to get new 16 inch wheels with the proper bolt pattern to match what the hubs require or to get your existing wheels you would need to go with 16.5 inch tires. You mentioned you have 215/60-16 tires which is not a trailer tire size. You should only use trailer tires on a trailer (they will have ST in front of the size). • Replacement Tire and Wheel for Old H78-15 Tire With 6 Lug Wheel on Horse Trailer
The modern tire size for the H78-15 tires is 225/75-15, so you'll want to use something with that size as the replacement. Because you're using them on a horse trailer I recommend going with a Load Range E tire, which will give you the highest capacity at this size of tire at 2850-lbs. Since you've got 6 lug wheels I recommend using the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" Silver Mod Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Load Range E # LHAW124 if you're looking to replace both the tires and...

In 15 inch trailer tires the common sizes are the ST205/75R15 and the ST225/75R15. They usually recommend to put the narrower 205mm width tire on the 5 inch wide wheel and the...

  • Timbren Axle Less System, Hubs, Assemblies and Wheels for Camper Trailer
The Timbren Axle Less system part # ASR35HDS05 that you referenced would be the way to go for what you are looking for. It's the appropriate capacity, will be smoother than what you have, and since it doesn't have a beam that runs across and has a 4 inch lift built into it would work great in an off-road setup. You would need the 6 on 5-1/2 Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # 8-201-9UC3-EZ to use this particular system. For brake assemblies part # AKEBRK-6, and for wheels you'd...

  • What Are the Yellow and Red Markings on Tires
Tires have a heavy spot and a light spot, so the markings on the tires applied in the manufacturing process, are intended to be a guide for tire technicians so they have an idea of where to mount the tire on the wheel. It's important to point out that trailer tire and wheel combos, like # LHAW124, come assembled this way, which offers sufficient balancing for most trailer applications. Although not required, you can choose to have the tire/wheel dynamically balanced at a shop, however,...
