Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Video Transcript for Taskmaster Tires and Wheels - Tire Only - TTWTRTM2057515C Review

Today we're going to review part # TTWTRTM2057515C. This is the Task Master ST20575R15 radial trailer tire in a load range C. This radial tire is ideal for boat trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers and campers. It is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for long life. It is great for highway use. It also does have the tread wear indicator markings on the side like on a passenger car and truck tire. Actually if you look real close, it will say TWI like right here and then about every 12 inches along the tire it will have it.

Right where it says TWI, for tread wear indicator, if you go up to the tread right here you will see there is a little ridge, like a speed bump that goes across. That's actually the tread depth bars. Those bars are at 2/32nds tread depth. So once this tire wears down and that bar goes straight across, that means the tire is worn out at 2/32nd's. It gives you a good visual indicator of the tread wear of the tire. This tire does meet the Department of Transportation's specifications and the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Specs on this again: the size, which is on the side wall, is ST 20575R, for radial, 15 inches.

Now the section width on this tire is going to be 8 inches. Overall diameter, from the very bottom to the top when it is inflated, is 27.1 inches. This is a load range C tire, which means it is a 6-ply rated tire. It has a maximum load capacity of 1,820 pounds at 50 PSI. The tread depth on this tire is 10/32 nd's, and this tire has a speed rating of M, which means 81 miles per hour. That should do it for the review on part # TTWTRTM2057515C, Task Master ST20575R15 radial trailer tire in a load range C.

I chose the Taskmaster ST radial tire for its speed rating, ride quality and highway handling. The ratings I read placed it a close second to the Maxxis ST radial which I consider the best ST radial. The Taskmaster is priced so attractively I couldn't pass it up. Along with the tires I purchased new Dexstar wheels which were a direct replacement for the wheels on my trailer. The old wheels had weathered from the Az sun and had many miles on them. The great price e-trailer offers these wheels for made my decision an easy one. I chose the Provider tire and silver mod wheel combination for my spare setup. The provider tire is nearly identical to the Taskmaster and the mod wheel it came mounted on is also very similar to the Dexstar wheel I purchased. This is a quality setup at a great price. My overall experience at e-trailer was exceptional. Great prices, rapid, properly packaged shipping with outstanding follow up and customer service. I highly recommend this company! 172335

The Taskmaster tires are the best trailer tires Ive ever used. The ride quality as far better than any bias ply trailer tire and the traction is better due to tire design. I also feel a lot better about running 65 MPH on these tires. Ill buy them again!

i haven't traveled with these yet, but expectations are totally positive. These are among only a couple of models with a speed rating (M- 81MPH) that will give me peace making use of the 75 MPH limits here. I am surprised these are not available locally, but dealing with etrailer was so straightforward it doesn't really matter. etrailer promptly shipped all 5 tires as a group of individual boxes, and the parcel service's processes didn't keep them all together. I received three tires on Friday, and due to the holiday weekend, didn't see the other two until the following Tuesday! The carrier's tracking system statused them as 'Delivered' on Friday. I don't know how frequently that happens. Anyway, etrailer answered all my questions in detail prior to purchase. I'm pleased with the responsiveness and efficient business operation, and I will be back. 270964

Ordered two tires, one of them was the wrong size. Because of this my business was halted until I had to pay more to get a new tire from a local business. E-trailer sent me a new tire with instructions to send back the new one that went to my spam folder and I didn't see until it was too late. They charged my credit card for the replacement tire because I had not returned the bad one. So essentially I had to buy 3 tires total to get the 1 that I needed. If it were my business, I would have just written off the mistake in the first place and kept business going. 419736

The 205/75R15 tires I recommend checking out are the Provider # TTWTRTM2057515C. • When to Replace Trailer Tires Due to Age and Deterioration
Trailer tires should be replaced no less than every 6 years no matter how little mileage they have on them. Tires will deteriorate at a faster rate if they are exposed to the elements, especially UV radiation from the sun. Temperature extremes also speed up deterioration. You can refer to the two linked articles for more information on trailer tires. You can inspect your tires for any signs of cracks or rot, especially at the sidewalls which carry the trailer weight. The Taskmaster ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWTRTM2057515C would work well for you. It is the same size as your f78-15st and is a radial. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear. A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially when the tire is under a load. A tire that runs cooler will last longer.

An ST205/75-15 trailer tire will fit on 15 x 5 to 15 x 6-1/2 inch wheels but will not fit a 15 x 7 inch wheel. Wheel width is not the overall width. It is the width where the tire sits, bead seat to bead seat. So if you are measuring the overall width at 7 inches outside to outside then you likely have closer to a 15 x 6 inch wheel. But if you are measuring bead seat to bead seat then you would need to use an ST225/75-15 tire such as # TR225LRE.

  • Recommended ST Trailer Tires for 1968 Monitor Trailer
For your 1968 12 foot Monitor trailer, I recommend the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TTWTRTM2057515C. This replacement tire is rated for up to 1820 lbs at 50 psi and speeds up to 81 mph. That load rating is for each tire, so you double that for your weight rating. These tires will fit on your current wheels. You always want to run trailer tires at the max psi when inflated cold. So in the case of these tires you will always want to run them at the 50...

  • Recommendation for Best Tire For A Covered Trailer
The best tire for your covered trailer is one that fits your wheels, handles your weight capacity, and functions at the best speed possible. Heat is the worst enemy of a trailer tire. The 3 most common causes for excess heat are incorrect...

  • What is the Difference Between Load Range C and Load Range D Tires
The difference between load ranges varies based on the tire size and brand. When comparing two tires of the same size and brand, a load range D tire will always have a greater weight capacity and psi rating than a load range C. However, when comparing two dissimilar tires, such as a size 145/80-12 tire and a size 185/80-13 tire, the load ranges will not correlate with one another. For example, a load range D tire in size 145/80-12 has an average capacity of 1,220 lbs, while a load range...
