Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Taskmaster Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - TTWAS53012WS4HP Review

Today, we're going to review part number TTWAS53012WS4HP, and this is the Taskmaster 5.30 by 12 bias trailer tire in a load range C on a 12-inch white spoke steel trailer wheel with the 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is ideal for boat trailers, stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. It has the steel wheel with the 8-spoke design, which is very sturdy and corrosion resistant. The wheel, they use a 3-step finishing process on it. They start with a phosphate zinc bath, then an eco primer over that, and then the white powder-coat finish on the outside of the wheel. On the inside of the wheel, they basically do a light e-coating to help reduce friction, provide rust resistance with less flaking.

This wheel does use the ITR technology, which is improved torque retention. This helps keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer. They use an uncoated stud hole, which is bevel. It gives you better clamp force retention. The tire is a bias-ply tire, which is constructed with strong nylon cords.

It is great for off-road and agricultural use. Now, this tire also uses the tread wear indicators. You'll see on the shoulder "TWI," and if you go every so often, basically what that's telling you, "tread wear indicator" means that right where that marking is, if you go to the tread groove of the tire, right where that indicator is, right across there you'll see a . In each tread groove, you'll see a raised portion. That raised portion of rubber almost looks like a speed bump. That is at 2/32 tread depth, and that's when a tire is officially worn out, at 2/32, so basically that tread wear indicator gives you a nice visual indicator of how the tread wear is wearing.

If you notice, it also comes with the high-pressure valve stem, which is all-included. This assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications, and it does exceed your federal motor vehicle safety standards. A few specs on this item, starting with the rim. The diameter on this rim is measured inside to inside, so this is a 12-inch diameter. The width is 4 inches wide. The bolt pattern on this is a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern, and if you go to measure a bolt pattern on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, all you have to do is measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to center of the hole right across from it, so center to center on this wheel would be 4 inches, so 4 on 4 inches.

It does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20. The weight capacity on just the wheel itself is 1,250 pounds. The pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole in the center of the wheel . it goes over the hub on your trailer . the diameter of that opening is 2.82. The tire, which is stamped on the side, "5.30-12." It's a bias tire. The section width is 5.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when this is inflated is 21.5. This tire is a load range C, which means it's a 6-ply rated tire, and it does have a maximum load capacity of 1,050 pounds at 80 PSI, and it does have a maximum speed rating of 81 miles per hour. That should do it for the review on part number TTWAS53012WS4HP, and this is the Taskmaster 5.30 by 12 Bias Trailer Tire in the load range C on the 12-inch white spoke steel trailer wheel, with the 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern.

The wheel and tire is for a spare so, thankfully, I have not had to use it...but it looks great. More importantly, however, I ordered it Friday, it was shipped Friday (with upgraded shipping even though, not being in a hurry, I chose UPS ground wagon train shipping)), and it arrived the following Wednesday. That's how it should work! 644985

after purchasing... put them on my 4x8 yard trailer and took it for a 3300 mile trip from Minneapolis to Seattle and back at 80 mph. No issues, tires worked great! 628834

Great product, great service. Couldn’t be happier. 527938

So far, so good. 527645

The product was just as described and a great price. Very fast&free shipping. 522355

Delivered on time as promised. Perfect fit and with the sturdy metal valve stems. Fits perfect on my pop up camper. Glad I did some research before buying at local place that was more money. Two thumbs up for ETRAILER. GREAT SITE AS WELL 506679

nice tires and wheels and a great price way better than shopping locally 500755

Great service and product 476036

Tire descriptions were clear and helpful (especially about the weight ratings and speed/load limits) and it made deciding which trailer tire to buy much easier than on most sites I tried. I can't believe how fast my two trailer tires were delivered and in a box (strong enough to make the trip) that was sized perfectly for the two tires. The price was right as well with free shipping for my order. Nice job! It's interesting that it is cheaper to buy complete tire/wheel combos for trailers, rather than buying and installing a new tire on an old rim. Though it does contribute to the waste stream in this busy consumable society. 471837

Both tires had severe cracks after less than 300 miles and 4 months sitting outside during a harsh winter. Etrailer offered to replace free of charge, but I would have to pay return shipping - which would be 1/2 the cost of the tires. Felt like I would be throwing good money after bad for an inferior product, so did not return. Replaced with the Kenya (not 70mph rated and for slightly less $) and they have been awesome. 461819

Very reasonable price and fast delivery for replacement wheels & tires for my 4' X 6' utility trailer. Red and Blue pinstripe around the rim of the white wheel is a nice touch. 437970

Pulls smooth and a huge improvement over the 13 year old tires on our camper - no issues with this tire, plus free, fast shipping and a great price made this an all around great buy. 432889

Items were great. Even better then that was the customer service. Some of the items I purchased turned out to be on back order from the manufacturer and when I contacted etrailer, they immediately responded and got the rest of my order overnighted to me for no extra charge. That's going above and beyond. I will definitely be ordering from these guys again. 427687

Application is 2000 Fleetwood popup camper. Very impressed with the quality (powder coated outboard, inboard side is e-coated, metal valve stems, and the tires seem to be built a lot better than what you'd get through some of the large discount importers. Since installing these we've taken the camper out 7 times with absolutely no issues or complaints at all. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone. Plus the price is the same as what it would cost just to buy and install new tires on your old rims. 424490

Great for those who need to go more than the 55mph limit to get home after a long day. FAST Shipping and ordering (don't have to go to numerous stores to find). Best 12" tire I have seen. 423851

Product I received was excellent. The support that I received was also excellent. The communication that I received was very good also. I would recommend doing business with etrailer. 416989

Would give 5 stars except that one of the four wheels I received had 20 lbs pressure while the remaining three had 60psi. I found that one of the metal valve stems was leaking from around the rim. Metal stems need to be checked for leakage after installation! I'm hoping that loosing the stem and reinstalling after a 1/4 rotation will solve the problem. Other than that, the rims and tires looked great. Etrailers service and delivery is something they should be very proud of. 414409

Fast shipping ,exactly what the picture shows is what you get. Excellent customer service answered all my question over the phone. I would defiantly order from this company again. 409044

They were the wrong size, the one I ordered was on back order so they called to substitute another tire that was the wrong size and it's too expensive to pay the return shipping so I still have them. I won't order tires online again, go to the store! 400759

The tire got here on time and as expected. Service was great, and John from etrailer followed up via email. 394378

Replaced my "ready pop" tires with these new wheels. Dresses up the trailer due to the new paint on wheels. Good price, free shipping. Easy to use web site. 391783

etrailer had everything I needed in one stop. 391757

Great product and web site. I was very happy to find on your site how to measure the wheel holes for the lug nuts and the center hole. They can be different, depending on their use. I was also happy to find a tire with load range C. Your ordering, delivery, and promptness were all great and easy. Thanks, they look great on my boat trailer. 379556

Tires arrived in good condition and sooner than expected. Looks like original tires and wheels that were on unit when purchased 22 years ago. If I can get 20 years plus out of them it will make a great deal even better. Thanks. 368858

This company is without a doubt the the best service and fastest shipping on the net. 362501

  • Recommendation Replacement Tire for ST155/80-R13
A 5.30 X 12C tire is going to be your best replacement. If you need the 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern # TTWAS53012WS4HP is a good option, or # TTWAS53012WS45HP for the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. These both have the wheel and tire included, which you'll need, since you will be decreasing the size of your rim. The reason I suggest going with the 12 inch rims is because smallest 13 inch tires available, such as # C17513C, are 175/80R13 which is quite a bit larger. Your current tires are...

  • Trailer Tire Inflation Pressure and Speed Ratings and How Do They Affect Tire Performance
All trailer tires, regardless of brand, size or construction, should ALWAYS have a cold tire pressure as is listed on the tire sidewall. This maximum cold psi pressure is required for the tire to meet its weight rating. It is never appropriate to under- or over-inflate a trailer tire for any reason. There is no benefit to doing so and the incorrect pressure can lead to uneven tread wear, reduced capacity, excess heat and tire failure. Always start your travel day with your tires inflated...

As long as you have the fender clearance for a taller wheel and tire you certainly can go from a 8 inch wheel setup to a 12 inch setup.
