Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

A good alternative to 20.5 x 8-10 tires

Good price for these! After shopping around, these turned out to be the best priced tires/wheels. Very happy with them. It's nice to just take off the old wheels and bolt these on. I can't speak to longevity, but they look great and made the boat trailer look good, too. 364569

After a year, all is working well. I balanced these wheels after I noticed an older existing tire was wearing unevenly. I only needed load range C tires as the trailer is limited to two snowmobiles and little gear. Again, the galvanized wheels a plus.

Tire and rim look like good quality especially for the price. Just replaced both tires and the spare on my snowmobile trailer because they were dryrotted. Turned out to be better off getting new rim and tire vs remounting tires on old rims. Shipped super fast and on time. 471464

Ordered two wheels and tires mid-morning February 4th. They were delivered about 3PM on the 6th. That quickness amazes me! I installed the wheels/tires yesterday. They fit fine. I was a little concerned because the 205/65 is a little wider than the 205/8 which I was replacing...no problem. The finish appears to be galvanized color paint and a little rough. Not my idea of galvanized, but it will work. The tires arrived with 60PSI although the rating is set at 50 PSI. Could be my gage. The online video of the wheel and tire was very helpful to me. Like many folks, tire lingo is not a daily thing so even specifying lug spacing can be a minor problem. Your video helped. Couple pictures attached. Thanks. 603356

Poor Galvanized Plating on Wheels, Surface is Rough, Scaling, Dirt, Runs, and Air Bubbles Incorporated During Plating Process. They look like they were spray painted silver by some amateur with a 99 cent spray can, outside, in the dirt, in a hurry, on a windy day. Very Poor Prep and Quality Control Before, During, and After The Plating Process! Also! There are Grinder Marks on the Outside of one wheel where they removed an imperfection and ground through the Plating to Bare Metal, After the Plating Process, and never Refinished it or Touched it up. Unprofessional and Disappointing. I was hoping for better. 442905

Put these on a boat trailer, only put 100 miles tires then boat motor went. Tires still inflated and parked for the last year.

I switched out narrow 8" tires (800lbs rating) for these (1100lbs rating) and I'm very pleased. My rig (boat and trailer) weigh about 1600 lbs so I wanted some margin of safety over the little 8" tires. These tires are a full 8" wide and 20" tall, so are much wider than the 8" tires but only a little taller. The key to fitment is the backspace on the tire, which is 4". So you have 4" between the face of the hub and the back of the tire. Since a little free space is also advisable, I actually have 6" between the face of the hub and the frame, so no rubbing during uneven axle movement or when the frame shifts a little on an outside corner. These tires track better down the road than any I've had so far, and the wide contact patch is nice on gravel launch ramps. All the tires this size range with higher ratings require 90+ lbs of air pressure, but these only require 50 lbs which I can handle. I keep them at 50 lbs. The quality of the galvanizing seems good and I haven't had to balance them. Overall, I'm happy with them. 151509

Thanks for coming back to check in with us. We appreciate it and are glad to know that the tires and wheels are holding up. Make sure to keep the tires out of the sun so they won't dry rot as fast.

You can use the help article I've linked to determine what bolt pattern is right for you. Once you have the right bolt pattern, the next step will be to decide what load range you need. • Spare Tire Recommendation for a Dual Jet Ski Trailer with 205 x 65 x 10 Load Range E Tires
  • My recommendation is to stay with the load range that your trailers axle is rated for and that matches the tires on your trailer. In this case a load range E trailer tire, like item # AM3H490, is rated for 1,650 lbs, which would be good for a single axle trailer with a 3,000 to 3,300 lb axle. If the Axle on your trailer is rated lower, 2,200 pounds or less then going with a load range C tire for a spare would be just fine, but having a load range E tire on the opposite side could cause...
