Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

GOOD PRODUCT AND QUALITY SERVICE ALSO.A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IN THE GALVANIZED RIMS,AS THE GALVANIZATION IS AN UNEVEN FINISH COMPARED TO THE SPARE THAT I ALREADY HAD,WHICH IS SMOOTH AND EVEN.BUT GOOD VALUE. 564811

My tire showed up very quick in time for a weekend trip even though I didn't order it until Tuesday. It is exactly as you would expect, properly aired up and ready to go on my trailer. The load range d is worth the extra money if you plan on loading your trailer with more than just 2 snowmobiles. The galvanized rim is also worth the extra money as they never rust like a steel rim so you could just mount a tire without buying another rim. I once bought these tires from a local shop for $100 a piece only to find a hole the very 1st time I used them and the shop wouldn't even patch it unless I paid an additional $20. These tires are well worth the convenience and knowing that they're brand new and will last for years 348385

Good quality wheels with nice galvanized finish. Tires look great, all inflated and everything, just bolt them on and go! Nice to have the Load Range D option available for extra safety factor, etrailer was the only place that had a good price on Load Range D with galvanized wheels. Highly recommend etrailer, great selection, good price, great customer service throughout the transaction. Even if I could get it a couple bucks cheaper on an auction site, I feel better about quality, after-sale support, and buying from a US-based company. Super fast shipping, too. 520268

Put 2 new rims and tires on my Thule Triton snowmobile trailer. Aluminum rims on 215/60-8 tires. Shipment was fast and order was correct. The price was best I could find on a set of wheels. Will know how they handle when the snow flies here in Maine. Would recommend etrailer to all. 425739

Great tires, great value. Made many trips to Canada for snowmobiling and had no problems. Will use etrailer again when needed.

They came properly inflated, A+! I like the construction, and they are the same brand as the OEM the replaced on my Triton. I like the weight rating not only for the tires but also the rims. Some folks forget that the weight rating of the tires can be quite high but if your rims don't match you really cant load them to the full potential. I own 2 of the larger garden tractors from John Deere. I haul one at a time but can top out at 1600 pounds with attachments and cabs for each one. 1165 pound rating on each tire and rim, I am golden. The 900 pound OEM rims were a bit too close for comfort especially at highway speeds. Shipping was a bit slow but hey it was free! 418261

These tires are what I wanted. They still have a weight rating that I needed and will work great with deck over design I am working on. Great price too. Tractor supply wanted 128 per tire in store. I paid like 65 here 447550

This was the very best price for the tire/wheel combination anywhere. Free shipping to boot. The tires were even inflated to 62 psi with a 70 psi max. The tires came with a 2517 DOT code so they were made around 06/2017 so they are not old tires we are being sold. I will order from etrailer again for sure. 443530

Bought size smaller first for my homemade trailer, but these fit great, and give me the weight rating I was looking for. Haven't had the chance to haul anything with these yet, but if they are anything like the smaller size I am going to be very happy; especially off road. The tread and wide profile help keep trailer from wondering unlike the skinny tires. 381659

Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Recommended Tires And Wheels To Replace 18.5/8.5-8 Tires On Triton Trailer
  • The tire size you can use as a replacement for your triton trailer is a 215/60-8. If you want just the tire, I recommend part # AM1HP28 which is a Load Range D tire. This 8-ply tire has a load capacity of 1,165 lbs at 70 psi. For a Load Range C tire only I recommend part # AM1HP26. This is a 6-ply tire and has a maximum load rating of 935 lbs at 50 psi. Both of these tires are bias-ply tires and will work on the rims you have for your tires. If you are looking for a wheel/tire...

  • Speed Rating of Special Trailer Tires in Size ST215/60-8
  • With all of our trailer tires and wheel/tire items the speed rating is J (65-mph) unless we specifically call out a different rating in the specs. This is the case for # AM3H325. In this 215/60-8 tire size and 5-on-4-1/2 wheel bolt pattern we offer several wheel/tire options, shown on the linked page. All have this same speed rating. We offer no tires in this size that are rated for faster speeds.

  • Wheel and Tire Recommendation for Replacing Size 18.5 x 8.5 - 8
  • The modern tire size equivalent to the size 18.5x8.5-8 is the size 215/60-8 like the # AM3H325 which has the same bolt pattern you have too of 5 on 4-1/2 inch. This is a Load Range D tire as well. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.

  • What is the Backspacing of Trailer Tire and Wheel Combo AM3H325
  • The overall width of the wheel in tire and wheel combo # AM3H325 is 8 inches. The inner width where the tire sits is actually 7 inches. Since this wheel has a zero offset the backspacing is going to be 4 inches. The tire width is 8-7/8 inches overall making half of that 4.43 inches or 4-7/16. I made a video for you as well explaining these measurements.

  • What Size Hub will Work with the 215/60-8 Trailer Tire with 8 Inch Galvanized Wheel Load Range D
  • The proper size hub for the 215/60-8 bias trailer tire and wheel, # AM3H325, is going to depend on the weight capacity of the trailer you are designing. This wheel and tire combination is capable of 1,165 lbs at 70 psi, so each axle in your design would need to be rated for 2,330 lbs or less. Most likely if this is the proper capacity for your design you will be using a 2,000 lb axle and the Trailer Hub Assembly, # 34822545BX, would be the proper choice if the spindle on the axle you...

  • Trailer Tire/Wheel Combo for a Karavan Snowmobile Trailer with 8 Inch Wheels and Hydraulic Brakes
  • There are currently no brake assemblies that are going to fit an 8 inch wheel because of the exact problem you have encountered: the hubs are too large to fit. The smallest we can go is for 10 inch wheels. You might be able to go to a 205/65-10 tire which would be about 2 inches taller than the 215/60-8 tire and wheel # AM3H325 that you have referenced. You would need at least 1 inch of clearance above the existing tire for the larger size. If you have the space on the trailer for the...

  • Does the 215/60-8 Metric Trailer Tire Replace the Older 18.5/8.5-8 Trailer Tire
  • Yes, the Kenda 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8 inch Galvanized Wheel, # AM3H320, will replace a wheel and tire combination with tire size 18.5 x 8.5 - 8, as long as the bolt pattern of your original wheel is 5 on 4-1/2 inches and the weight capacity of your trailer axle is 1,870 pounds or less. • The current 175/80-13 size tires on your boat trailer have an overall diameter/height of 24.1 inches and a width of 6.9 inches. The smaller 215/60-8 tires that you mentioned will certainly be smaller in height with a diameter of 18.3 inches, but will actually have a larger width of 8.5 inches. Going to this smaller size will definitely help lower the trailer, but you will just want to make sure you have the necessary clearance on the trailer for the wider tire. Another factor you will...

  • What Size Tire and Wheel will Replace a 18.5-8.5-8 Tire on a Yacht Club Trailer
  • The 18.5-8.5-8 tire has an overall diameter of 18.5 inches, an overall width of 8.5 inches and fits an 8 inch diameter wheel. The closest size tire I would have is the 215/60-8 bias tire. It will have an overall diameter of 18.1 inches and an overall width of 8.9 inches. You will want to check to make sure you will have the clearance for the extra width. In the 215/60-8 tire and wheel I have the Kenda 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire with White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D, part # AM3H323....

  • 8 Inch Wheel Compatibility with Pontoon Trailer Currently with 10 Inch Wheels
  • I went out to the warehouse to measure one of the wheels for you. The Steel Trailer Wheel - 8" x 3-3/4" Rim # AM20006 will only fit hubs that are up to 5-3/4 inches diameter. Your 10 inch wheels will be the smallest wheels that will fit on your hubs. To get into your garage you be able to remove air from your tires and then re-inflate once inside. I recommend being careful if you go that route simply because the sidewall of your tire can be damaged if there is not proper inflation...

  • What is the Actual Load Capacity of Kenda 215/60-8 Trailer Tire/8-Inch Wheel # AM3H325
  • Thank you for the photo of your utility trailer. You are correct that if a tire itself and a wheel itself each carry different load ratings the combined wheel-with-tire will have a rating equal to the lower-rated of the two parts. As it happens in the case of the Kenda 215/60-8 Trailer Tire/8-Inch Wheel # AM3H325, both the tire and the wheel share a common maximum load rating of 1165-lbs, so this is the load rating of the combination, part # AM3H325. Please note that any trailer tire...
