Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

The tires and wheels came very quickly and the customer service was excellent. These products are very high quality for the low price I paid. I have commented about the website before but it still deserves mention. I buy most things thru the websites from many different companies. I just do not have the time to buzz around town trying to find things I need. This website is by far the best one I have ever seen. Keep up the good work ETrailer.com! 52380

Free ground shipping on 2 tires! Received in less than a week. Price was easily the lowest I could find on a comparable tire. Nice looking painted wheels. Very pleased. Purchased these to replace the wheels/tires on a lightweight boat trailer I converted to a kayak hauler. Original wheels were 5.70 x 8. Decided to go with these to reduce the RPM of the original smaller wheels which I was afraid might wear out the axle bearings from pulling the trailer long distances. Haven't installed yet but I'm sure the Kenda's will be great. 452676

Great experience! I was amazed how quickly I received my tire order with standard freight included, and I have installed them on my pop up trailer already! They look great and I can't wait to see how the trailer tows with the larger tires. They make the trailer look more level with my tow vehicle and look good on the trailer. Going camping next weekend. Can't wait! 370811

This review would have been significantly lower had it not been for Mark in customer service. I'd ordered a set of wheels and tires for my pop up trailer online, and the following week when I attempted to track the shipment, there was no updated information. I called in and spoke to Rose, who informed me that the wheels and tires were on backorder and wouldn't be received until the middle of the next month, which was way too much time to have my trailer blocking my garage. Rose sent me an email with alternatives to the specific wheels and tires I ordered, but for some reason, I wasn't able to speak to her again, despite leaving a voicemail and an email. I ended up calling back into the call center, where I spoke to Mark. Within minutes, we'd determined that paying a little extra for the Kenda tires would be my only option (not one that I minded, BTW), and that he could have them to me in three days. This was on a Monday afternoon, and by Wednesday morning the wheels were sitting in my garage. Problem solved, and I'm very happy with my purchase. The wheels and tires appear to be of good quality, and the trailer tracks nicely with them. I would like to commend Mark on his excellent customer service, and getting to the bottom of my issue and having a solution immediately. It's people like him that will make me come back for more of my trailer needs. 224339

I was running 4.80x12 tires on my homemade camping trailer but they were worn out. I decided to upgrade to these 5.30x12 tires because of the increased weight capacity. They were a great fit for the trailer and the price couldn't be beat. 401887

Hello, I purchased 3 of these (one for a spare) tire/wheel combinations from etrailer.com for my utility trailer. The price was great & the shipping was fast. My trailer originally had 4.80-8 tires and rims. I wanted something a little taller. The trailer also had quite a bit of tire/fender clearance. To lower the trailer deck back down, I flipped the axle over and ran the leaf springs under the axle. I then re-drilled the fender mounting locations to regain the clearance that I had lost. All of this was quite simple. I will use etrailer.com again in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend them for all of your trailer needs. 177756

Just wanted to thank E trailer for the very quick service on the replacement tires and rims for my recently purchased pop up camper. This the second purchase I have made from E trailer and it goes without saying that the quality and price of the items I purchased this time were of the highest quality and below any price I could find locally here in Milwaukee or on the internet. I had previously purchased a trailer hitch and trailer light hook up kit from E trailer , and with the help of their great install videos , installation was a snap for my 2006 Ford escape. I think 3 day service ground delivery is unheard of these days. Kudos to the shipping and receiving and order entry people at E trailer . I will be back that is for sure. 58790

Just got back from a 400 mile trip. I installed these 12" tires on my Haulin utility trailer to replace the 8" tires on them, so I was safer on the freeway. I looked around town first for tires & rims, no one had a class C rated 4 on 4 rim & tire, so I have bought my hitches from etrailer. I checked their web site and they had it for a great price and I was very impressed with the quality of them. 52495

Needed to upgrade some 8" wheels and tires on my discount hardware store-purchased DIY trailer. Doing more and more highway travelling and wanted something that would roll easier and handle higher speeds. I placed the order on Tuesday afternoon and hoped that I would have on Friday before a beach vacation next week. Spoke with CS and they were very helpful. Called back once there was a tracking number and Phyllis (?) went so far as to call UPS and call me back!!! Almost unheard of these days. To my surprise, both wheels/tires shipped in 1 box and arrived today (Friday). Trailer looks like a rockstar now instead a danky karaoke bar singer. 5 outta 5 will be recommending. 661148

Kenda tires were the OEM tires on my single axle Viking Pop Up. The original tires were weather cracked from 6 years of outside storage, so I decided to replace them even though they had plenty of tread left. The wheels were still like new, so I thought I'd save some $$ and I buy replacement tires only from my local RV store (not Kenda brand). I had a difficult time finding a tire shop that would mount 12 inch wheels. I bargained with used tire shop and paid $25 to mount and balance two tires. The money I saved on the tires, I spent mounting them. With less than 2 years on those generic tires I had a blowout on the highway, fortunately no damage done to camper, but the wheel was destroyed. I learned my lesson. I should have bought the Kenda tires. I have probably 3 to 4000 miles on these new tires, and they look like new. 647254

Product is just fine, packaging is a little ridiculous. One long box, all three tires end for end flopping in the breeze, no stuffing to keep from moving. One small square box with all three stacked would make much more sense, no room for play that way. 551554

Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Comparison of Kenda and Taskmaster 5.30-12 Sized Trailer Tire on White Spoke Wheel
  • The specs between the Kenda # AM30780 and Taskmaster # TTWAS53012WS4HP are basically the same. One difference is the Taskmaster has a speed rating of 81 mph which is higher than many trailer tires. The Kenda doesn't list an actual speed rating just that it's a high speed tire. Also the Taskmaster uses a higher quality, metal valve stem over the rubber.

For a combo that covers all of that aside from being a radial we have the # AM30780 for a white wheel or part # AM30790 for a galvanized wheel. None of the combos we offer in this setup have a radial option For just the tire we have the part # TT53012C which will work well and is a radial. Then for a wheel to match this we have the part...

  • Modern Tire Size Replacement for 6.9 - 9 Size

This tire size there are only bias ply tires available like the part # AM30780 for if you have a 4 on 4 inch bolt patter or the # AM30859 if you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch hitch. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear. A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially...

The tire is rated for 1,045 pounds at 80 psi. A tire blowout can be caused by not inflating the tire to the correct psi. If your current tires are also rated for 80 psi, then that would be correct. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum PSI stated on the tire, and should be inflated when they are cold. Special Trailer (ST) tires are designed to handle higher air pressure and have stronger sidewalls than passenger vehicle tires. These ST tires are expressly designed...

  • Can Tire Size 5.30-12 Easily Replace 4.80-12 on Trailer
  • As long as you have the clearance needed to fit a tire that's slightly taller and wider than what you currently have a 5.30-12 would work well. Your current tire size is 20.5 inches in diameter and the 5.30-12 is 21.9 inches in diameter. So this would eat up about 3/4 of an inch of your current fender clearance. Assuming that's not an issue the # AM30780 would work fine since the bolt pattern matches.

  • Recommended 12 Inch Tire/Wheel Combos To Replace 8 Inch Tire/Wheels On Trailer
  • An 8 inch tire/wheel combo like part # AM30000, will have a diameter of 16.1 inches. If you are changing over to a 12 inch tire/wheel combo with a load range C and a 4 on 4 bolt pattern like part # AM30620, the diameter if 20.7 inches. You will want to make sure you clear your fender if you decide to go this route. You will also want to check to make sure you have the room on the inside tire wall when adding bigger tires. For a little bigger and wider tire, like part # AM30780,...

  • Spare Wheel and Tire Combo with 5.30-12 Tire
  • We have options for you that should work well. We sell rim and tire combos that have a 5.30-12 tire mounted on them. You will just need to know what your wheels bolt pattern is so that you can pick out the correct one. See the FAQ article I attached to the right for that. If you have a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern you would want the # AM30780, if you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern you would want the # AM30820. I attached review videos for both wheel and tires.

  • Replacement Tires and Wheels Needed for 1962 Boat Trailer with 6.00-9 Wheels 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern
  • The 4 on 4 is a very common bolt pattern but just to make sure that this is what you have on your 1962 boat trailer, I went out to our warehouse to get a measurement. The side to side, or center a to center b, measurement is going to be 2-7/8 inches on the 4 on 4 rim so we have a match. As for not measuring the center hole, as long as you have lug centric wheels, which means they slide onto studs on the hub and are secured with lug nuts, this measurement won't be as crucial. Since the wheel...

  • Trailer Tire Inflation Pressure and Speed Ratings and How Do They Affect Tire Performance
  • All trailer tires, regardless of brand, size or construction, should ALWAYS have a cold tire pressure as is listed on the tire sidewall. This maximum cold psi pressure is required for the tire to meet its weight rating. It is never appropriate to under- or over-inflate a trailer tire for any reason. There is no benefit to doing so and the incorrect pressure can lead to uneven tread wear, reduced capacity, excess heat and tire failure. Always start your travel day with your tires inflated...

  • What Tire Pressure To Use In The Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire On A Pop Up Camper Of 1,200 Lbs.
  • You should use the tire pressure that is recommended by the manufacturer of the camper. If they do not have a recommended tire pressure then I would recommend to use the maximum psi that is listed on the Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire, # AM30780, which is 80 psi. Trailer tires are designed differently than passenger car tires and truck tires. Trailer tires are made to be able to carry a heavy load at all times, so you will want the maximum pressure in the tire. On passenger and...
