Ordered new wheel and tire for my tow dolly to use as spare. Retrieved info from Etrailer web site, placed the order, received confirmation and later same day got shipping info and confirmation. Next day got tracking and delivery info from UPS on delivery date and 4 days later package was on my door step. Thanks Etrailer for the for the great pricing, quick handling and free shipping, Not the first time I’ve used your site and won’t be the last. Thanks for the follow up, 100% satisfied. 524832

I own a camp trailer that was manufactured with the above listed tire, yet I was unable to find this same replacement tire at a reasonable price locally. I called every tire dealer that I knew in the local Albany N.Y. area, starting with local camper suppliers. Either they didn't have the tire or were charging what I considered to be an exorbitant amount. Some suppliers suggested I either buy tires with the rims or buy radial tires, of course I would have to buy a match set of two rather than one. As a last resort, I went on line searching for trailer tires and found etrailer.com. I called and Debora H. answered and handled my every question, completed my order and assured me all was right with the world. She promptly gave me an order number and an estimated delivery date. This employee treated me like I was her only customer for the day and I give her much thanks for her assistance. The delivery arrived a full day ahead of her estimated arrival and I had the ability to follow my shipment from their door to mine...how comforting to know their is a company of this caliber! I will continue to support this outfit whenever I can. As soon as I signed for the delivery with the UPS driver, I received an email from Patrick B. to ascertain if all went well with the shipment and if I was satisfied...once again, how can you not like to deal with folks like this? I have not used the trailer on the road, but I assure you, based on the original tires, I see no reason why I wouldn't be happy. I will agree with others that have commented on these tires...Keep the tires inflated to the camper and tire specs and check them regularly to obtain maximum wear. Thank to all at etrailer.com! 86691

Comments

This tire has operated exactly as expected with no maintenance except checking tire pressure before every use. I would buy another set of these tires when or if these wear out! Thanks again Etrailer and those employees associated with my purchase.

Service from Etrailer is excellent: courteous, efficient, and shipping was immediate. I use the Loadstar ST205/75D14 tire on a tandem axle open trailer. I think the tire performs well and is very reliable, but these tires do seem to wear quickly. 73400

Comments

ST or Special Trailer tires are built differently than tires for cars or trucks. If they are not kept at their full inflation pressure, their weight capacity s as pressure s and they will wear more quickly.Check the total weight of your trailer and make sure you are not over the weight capacity of the tires, or even really close to it. If so, you may want to look at going up to a load range D tire or keeping a closer eye on tire pressures.

I needed 2 new trailer tires since mine were 13 years old with dry rot. etrailer website made it easy to order the new tires. Their prices were fair and they offered free shipping! That was a big plus because big items cost a lot to ship. The tires arrived at my door in less than a week. I would definitely buy from etrailer again. 442153

The cheapest price that I found. Easy web page to navigate thru and find what I needed. The first two tires that I purchased came in the same box and were out of shape from possibly having items being stacked upon them. The garage had a little difficulty mounting them on the rims. Ordered two more tires a week later and they both arrived in separate boxes. Going to have them mounted today on the rims. 619993

Review from a similar Kenda Loadstar Bias in Tires and Wheels

I love, love, love this trailer tire. I have purchased and installed six of these tires, on vintage Cushman 24volt Industrial Electric vehicles (3 wheelers) and they are a GREAT addition. Classic tread design, Art Deco, Saw-Tooth side-wall styling, and rugged tire design - a perfect tough tire that adds a great finishing touch to your vintage restoration project. 505189

Order the tires of March 2019 and the date on the tires are from mid year of 2017 so by that theory they're already about 2 years old going on the theory you should replace your tires every 5 years I'll only have 3 years to use these tires when they were shipped to me they were collapsed into themselves so the beads and inside walls were touching it was really hard to get them two seat on the Wheel not really amused that I bought brand new tires that are 2 years old 613314

Comments

Its not unheard of for tires to arrive at our location that were manufactured a year or more before we received them. These tires are manufactured overseas. After they are manufactured, they can sit in a warehouse for months until they are packed in a shipping container and ultimately loaded on a container ship and shipped to the US. The trip here and entry through US Customs can take a month or more. The tires then sit in a warehouse in the US until we order and receive them. Tires that are stored in a warehouse under controlled conditions dont age or dry rot like tires that are exposed to the elements and UV radiation do. The fact that your tires were older than a year when you received them will not have any effect on their lifespan or durability. They should be good for up to 6-7 years, assuming they are not stored in direct sunlight, not overloaded, are kept properly inflated and their speed rating isnt being exceeded on a constant basis. The product warranty begins at the date of purchase, not the date of manufacture.

Review from a similar Kenda Loadstar Bias in Tires and Wheels

I ordered a pair of LOADSTAR K399 205/65 -10 Load Range E bias tires late on Friday evening and they arrived before noon the following Tuesday , a day quicker than expected. The tires arrived well packaged and in great shape. I haven't had a chance to have the tires mount yet, but I don't anticipate any problems at this point. Although it can be a challenge to locate a vendor that carries these size tires, they are exact OEM replacement tires to fit my Acme EZE-Tow car dolly. A job well done etrailer! 473574

Comments

I mounted them, with balance beads, and they have driven and worn wonderfully on my car dolly, both loaded and unloaded. I would definitely purchase them again and recommend them to all.

We put these tires on our 23 ft. camp trailer. They have been one of our best investments! Even after sitting all winter, we did not have to add any air when getting the camper ready for summer camping season! Definitely an improvement over the D rated tires that came with the camper originally! 416955

Great product. Upgraded from B to D's. Wish these came with rims because they're impossible to mount yourself. Tire shop cost $10 per mount though. Already put 300 miles on them and no longer have the worry of overloaded tires. So far so good and arrived on time in perfect condition. Thanks! 219903

I searched a number of local tire shows for two replacement tires from my trailer; unfortunately, I could not find anything in my local area. During my internet search I found etrailer.com. • Comparing Special Trailer Tires in Size ST205/75-14 with Differing Load Range Ratings
  • The only actual differences between two special trailer tires in the same size but with different weight load range letter codes, C and D in this case, are their weight carrying limits in pounds and their required inflation pressures in psi. For reference, the linked page displays all of our special trailer (ST type) tires in size ST205/75-14. These tire options include items with either radial or bias ply construction and tires in either Load Range B, C or D. As examples, Kenda tire...

As long as the wheels you have now are 5 to 6-1/2 inches wide (measured on the inside where the tire sits) then you could use this size. It will be 8.1 inches wide and 26.3 inches tall. This size is available in different load ranges (capacities) B, C, or D. The load range B, # AM1ST84, is rated for 1,430 pounds at 35 psi. The load range C, # AM1ST86, is rated for 1,760 pounds at 50 psi. And the load range D,...

The only Load Range D option we have in the ST205/75R14 size is a tire by itself like part # AM10235. For a wheel to go with it you would want the part # AM20354. Or for a wheel and tire combo with a white wheel part # AM32161.

  • Can ST205/75R14 Load Range C Trailer Tires be Replaced with ST205/65R14 Load Range D Trailer Tires
  • Yes, you can replace ST205/75R14 LRC tires with ST205/65R14 LRD tires. The difference is that LRC stands for load range C and has a capacity of 1,760 lbs at 50 psi. The LRD stands for load range D and has a capacity of 2,100 lbs at 65 psi. Please note that going to a higher capacity tire does not allow the trailer to carry more weight.

  • Comparing Trailer Tires that Have R and D in the Size, Radial vs. Bias-Ply
  • The R and the D in a trailer tire size stand for radial and bias-ply. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear. A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially when the tire is under a load. A tire that runs cooler will last longer. For those reasons I would recommend an R tire over a D tire. The part # AM10235 should work very well for you.

  • Can a Wheel that Fit a 205/75/15 Trailer Tire also fit a 225/75/15
  • In most cases a 225/75-15 tire will fit the same rim as a 205/75-15 but it really depends on the rim size. The 225 is designed to fit rim widths of 6, 6-1/2, and 7 inches and the 205 is designed to fit 5, 5-1/2, 6, and 6-1/2 inches. There is some overlap between the two sizes so if you have a 6 or 6-1/2 inch wide rim the 225 would fit. For a 225 the part # TTWTRTM2257515D would be a great option as it has an 81 mph speed rating whereas most trailer tires are only limited to 65 mph.

  • The Kenda/Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1ST86 is rated for 65 miles per hour. You would not want to exceed the speed rating on a trailer tire because of heat. Trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall to handle more vertical load. The thicker sidewall generates more heat compared to passenger vehicle tires, especially if under inflated. That is also why trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. Radial tires run cooler and track...

Using different sizes can cause tracking problems and lead to premature and/or uneven tire wear. Ideally you would replace all of the tires at the same time. A bias ply tire has a stiffer sidewall than a radial, a feature that might be useful for off-road applications, but for highway operation a radial tire will flex more, and provide better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear. • Can Passenger Vehicle Hubs Be Used On Mobile Home Axles
  • Mobile Home axles are meant for one time use only so replacement parts, like wheels and tires are very limited. The one tire we offer that is designed specifically as a mobile home tire is part # AM10321 which is an 8-14.5 tires. It fits a 14-1/2 x 6 inch wheel. The only wheel we have in this size is # AM20308. It has a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern and features a 1/2 inch negative offset. I would not recommend replacing the hubs on a mobile home axle or using tires or wheels designed...

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation for ST205/75R14 Load Range D
  • For a Load Range D tire in the size ST205/75R14 the best option we have is the Westlake tire part # 274-000012 which is the correct size and Load Range. It has a capacity of 2,040 lbs at 65 psi, a speed rating of 75 mph and comes with a 2 year roadside assistance program. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada,...

  • Black Steel Wheel and Baby Moon Hub Cap Recommendation for a 1966 Serro Scotty Canned Ham Trailer
  • I will start out with your original tire. I did some calculations and the overall diameter of your original 640/15 tire would be approximately 25.48 inches and the width would be 6.4 inches. The diameter of the older tire is most likely why, when the wheels and tires were replaced, someone went with a 13 inch wheel and tire assembly. Newer 15 inch trailer tires all start out at around 27 inches diameter which may pose a contact problem with your trailers fender wells. In addition 15...

  • Meaning of F78-14 Designation on Kenda Loadstar ST205/75-14 # AM1ST86 Tire
  • The F78-14 shown on the ST205/75-14 # AM1ST86 tire you referenced designates the old tire size for that tire. The alpha numeric tire sizing was common in the 1960s and early to mid 1970s. A few of the tire companies still show the older tire sizes to help folks cross-reference when they are replacing old tires.

  • Should Light Truck or Trailer Tires be Used on a Boat Trailer
  • You definitely want to stick with trailer tires on your boat trailer. Light truck tires are a type of passenger vehicle tire and as such they are not built with as thick of a sidewall as trailer tires. A thicker sidewall allows a trailer tire to handle more vertical load. I recommend going with ST trailer tires. The ST stands for special trailer. The difference between a bias ply and a radial tire is the way the rubber is layered. A bias ply is layered around the tire, and a radial tire...

  • Can 215/75-14 Tires Be Used To Replace 205/75-14 Tires On Boat Trailer
  • When changing tire size, the most important thing you need to know is the size of the wheel and if it designed to handle the different tire. A 205/75-14 tire like part # AM1ST86 will work on 14 inch wheels that are 5, 5-1/2, 6, or 6-1/2 inches wide. If you decide to change to a tire that is 215/75-14 like part # AM10229, this tire will fit wheels that are 5-1/2, 6, 6-1/2, and 7 inches wide. This is a load range C radial tire with a load capacity of 1,870 lbs at 50 psi. I have attached...

  • ST205/75r14 Trailer Tire Vs. a ST205/75D14
  • Long story short, yes you can. But going with the ST205/75R14 would be a better replacement than a ST205/75D14 because the R in the first size means it is a radial tire whereas the D in the second size means it is a bias ply. The main difference between a radial ply and a bias ply tire is how the tire is constructed. The cords inside a bias ply tire run at a 32 degree angle to the direction of travel, and the cords on a radial tire run at a 90 degree angle to the direction of travel,...

  • Are Trailer Wheel and Tires Balanced
  • The tire and wheel combos we carry are not machined balanced. You can have the tire and wheel combos balanced at a local tire shop if you wanted to. What some manufacturers will do is line up the light spot on the tire with the heavy spot on the wheel. This is a type of balancing but not like how car tires are balanced (with weights on a balancing machine). For a steel valve stem we have the part # AM20906 which fits all trailer rims with hole diameters: 0.453" and 0.625".
