Video Transcript for Review of Kenda Tires and Wheels - Tire Only - AM1HP28

Today we're going to take a look at the Loadstar 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire in a Load Range D. Now, this tire's great for off-road and agricultural use. It does provide superior stability and it does reduce rolling resistance for a nice smooth ride. It will exceed the DOT, Department of Transportation requirements. It is designed to fit on an eight-inch by seven-inch wide wheel. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, 215/60-8.

This will replace the older size of 18.5 by 8 1/2 by 8. Section width on this tire is 8.9 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's going to be 18.3 inches. This tire is a Load Range D, which means it's an eight ply rated tire, so it does have a maximum load capacity of 1,165 pounds at 70 PSI.And the last thing I do want to mention to you is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with speed ratings now, and that'll be stamped on the tire. If you look right here, you'll see two numbers are 86, which is the load index, and then the letter M right after it.

The speed rating M is what will dictate the speed rating. And an M means 81 miles per hour. So this tire is an 81 mile per hour speed rating, but that should do it for the review on the Loadstar 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire in a Load Range D.

After 1year, these show very little wear. They track well, and take abuse associated with OHV and snowmobile towing. The D load rating gives me some peace of mind when pushing trailer load limits, and are quiet to boot. 455186

I bought these tires to mount on hubs i had bought from etrailer and they were high quality and fit the hubs perfectly. The company site made it easy to order with its info on a recommended match between the hub and tire. Also i wanted a heavy more substantial tire crossed over from and old tire to a new heavier tire number. the crossover worked perfectly. I'm totally satisfied with this company and its products and will buy parts here again. 428148

Review from a similar Kenda Loadstar Bias in Tires and Wheels

I recently received my order from e-trailer. I ordered a Dexstar wheel, a pair of Kenda tires, a chrome when center cap, lug nuts and screw in studs. I read all the pertinent info supplied as well as check exactly the brands, sizes etc of the parts I was replacing. I was notified by email (from Phyllis) the day following the order placement that their was a shipment delay of the tires, I was supplied with equivalent tire replacements which could have been supplied to keep the order on time or wait a week and get exactly what I originally ordered. I waited and received everything faster then I thought it would have taken. Phyllis kept me updated every couple days on the order progress- so nice! I was a little unsure if the screw in studs would fit but ordered what seemed to be the best match (had to start somewhere & figured I could return if no fit) and studs and lugs fit as stock- exact matches. This was my 2nd order in two years and have had great customer service and better then stock replacement parts, certainly all for a cheaper price then I could ever find in NW Montana! Thank You all at e-trailer! 707543

Since i can not review product yet, all i can say is service and delivery was excellent. I still need to put some miles on the tires to answer to quality. I can say i am happy that the date codes on the tires was very recent as i have gotten tires that were already years old from other sources. Scott. 291438

I'm Soo pleased with how good these tires perform. For years I just used old LT (light truck) tires on my trailer, assuming they were sufficient. These trailer tires give a much more confident and stable feel with towing. They were very affordable and , through some form of sourcery, etrailer fit them in a box to be delivered to my doorstep. 720568

I purchased Kenda 6 ply tires for a couple of trailers about a year ago and I've been happy with both sets. I've put plenty of miles on one trailer since I use it to haul my fishing boat. No problems at all. No flats, no rotting - tires look like new. I recommend these tires to all my fishing buddies. Any time spent on fixing a flat means less time fishing! 273070

The 4.80-8 tire size that you are interested in is designed to fit 3-3/4 inch wide rims, whereas the 215-60-8 that is close to what you have currently is designed to fit 7 inch wide rims so I do not think a 4.80-8 would install on your rim. • Trailer Has Loud and Excessive Vibrations Loaded or Not Loaded
  • Trailer tires typically do not get balanced because manufacturers tend to match the heavy spot on the tire with the light spot on the wheel. It takes a special rig to balance trailer tires, equipment that not many tire shops have anymore. The other issue is that the trailer tires we carry are rated for 65 miles per hour at most and a lot of other trailer tires are rated lower. I recommend checking the tire sidewalls to see if they have a speed rating. Staying under 70 miles per hour...

  • Will an ST215/60-8 Trailer Tire Replace a 5.70 x 8 Tire
  • Most trailer wheels have a zero offset but backspacing is going to be different amongst different rim sizes and widths. a 215/60-8 tire will have an overall diameter of 18.3 inches. a 5.70-8 has an overall diameter of 18.1 inches so there is not much difference there. The rim width is the big difference. a 5.70-8 fits on a 3-3/4 inch wide rim while a 215/60-8 fits a 7 inch. That 3-3/14 inch difference is quite a bit. When the tire is on the rim the larger size will be nearly 8.5 inches...

  • Availability of 215/60-8 Tire in Load Range D on 4 Bolt Rim
  • What you will have to do is get the # AM1HP28 and then have it mounted locally on the rim # AM20023 which has 4 bolt pattern and the correct diameter and width for the tire to fit. We don't have the combo already pre-mounted but a local tire shop wouldn't have a problem mounting the tire.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Tires that Blow Out
  • There are a few reasons trailer tires fail. The most common is that they are overloaded. You need to check the capacity of your tires (and trailer) and be sure you are not exceeding their capacities. The highest rated tire we have the in the size you need is the part # AM1HP28 as it has a 1,165 capacity when inflated to 70 psi. Ply rating is another way of stating the capacity for a tire. As long as the tire has the capacity needed you won't need to worry about the ply rating. Another...

  • Rim and Tire Recommendation to Replace a 215/60-8 That is Too Wide on a 2k Capacity Trailer
  • A 4.80-8 trailer tire size is going to have a max capacity of 760 lbs when inflated to 90 psi per tire. So not only would it not have enough capacity it would be too skinny to fit the wider rim you have for your 215/60-8 tires. Another option you have that would provide you with a skinnier tire that would also be 3 inches taller would be to go with a 5.30-12 rim and tire like the part # AM30859. This rim has a 5 on 4 inch bolt pattern. If you have a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern you would...

  • What is the Best Pressure to Run in Trailer Tires
  • For trailer tires you have to keep them all inflated to their max pressure rating. Trailer tires are designed for having the max psi in them at all times. Failure to do this will reduce the weight capacity of the tire and will potentially cause heat failure.
