Video Transcript for Kenda Tires and Wheels AM10414 Review

Today we'll be reviewing part number AM10414. This is the Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M with a load range of E. The tire size is 7.00-15LT. Because the "LT" is after the tire size, that means that this can be used for trailer use as well. If the "LT" is before the tire size, then we would just be limited for a light truck use. This is designed to fit 15-inch by 5-inch, 15-inch by 5 1/2-inch and 15-inch by 6-inch wheels. It's going to give us a section width from outer edge to outer edge of 7.8 inches and an outer diameter, when fully inflated, from edge to edge of 29.4 inches. It's going to offer a load range of E with a 10-ply rating.

The maximum load is 2,403 pounds at 70 psi. You can see here with the unique tread design that it's going to offer good performance in wet or dry conditions. This also meets Department of Transportation requirements. It's also got all the indicators listed here on the outer wall of the tire. That way you can always use that as a quick reference guide if you ever need any of that information. That's going to complete today's review of part number AM10414.

This is the Kenda Light Truck Tire. .

Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M - 7.00-15 LT - Load Range E

7.00 x 15" is a tire size getting harder to find. etrailer had them in stock and shipped them quickly. Can't ask for much more than great pricing and fast shipping. Oh, and these tires are fresh (less than a year old), not tires that have been sitting in a wharehouse somewhere for the past 5 years. 225489

Great tires. I like them very much. They are smooth riding and quiet on the road.

These are great tires. My Airstream only has one axle so each tire has to hold a ton. I was running Load Range D which was adequate but these are Load Range E so I now have a lot of margin of safety. The tires showed up on my front porch, I jacked up the trailer, pulled the wheels, took the whole project to the local tire shop where they mounted them for me. I came home, put them on the hubs, lowered the trailer to the ground, put away all my tools, and poured a beer. I'll be hauling this trailer on several trips this year that will total a couple thousand miles. I'm glad to have good rubber and thick cord. 341026

These tires are the best! I used them to drive to Madras, Oreg., for the great solar eclipse. I used them when I drove to LA to move my daughter after she finished grad school it was 104 degrees down there.

I couldn't find these vintage bias ply trailer tires locally and found them at I found two that matched my original Kenda 7.00 16 s but were even a stronger tire than what I already had. Wish I hadn't previously bought two radials locally and could have bought all four from etrailer. Their price was fair, good quality tire, quick and free shipping. Very, Very happy with this purchase, Thank you. 450359

Unpackaged, at local tire dealer having put on rim now. A difficult tire size and load rating to find at the larger tire dealers and nice to have it easily shipped to the house. Replacing a tire on a cattle trailer and needed the E Load rating in 7.00-15 size. Happy so far. 224986

Loved the look of the tire, on my 71 trailer, much like original. I did have a problem, with the tires. After 7,000 miles they both devoleped an inverted dent in the tread, the tire manufacturer replaced them no problems, I have not been traveling on my new tires yet. 497975

Ask the Experts about this Kenda Tires and Wheels
Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation for a 15 Inch Tire Size 7.00 x 15
  • The only 7.00 x 15 tire we carry is a light truck tire, # AM10414, that you referenced. The closest size to a 7.00x15 tire would be a 225/75-15. These tires can fit on a 6 to 7 inch wide rim. But they are a little taller at 28.1 inches versus 27.88 for a 7.00x15. Make sure to use ST trailer tires. The ST in front of the tire sizes indicates Special Trailer. Trailer tires are designed with a thicker side wall to handle more vertical load. An LT is a light truck tire and light truck tires...

  • Will Tire Size 225/75-15 Replace a Size 7.00-15 Tire
  • Based on my research, 7.00-15 tires typically fit a 15 x 5-1/2 inch wheel. The ST225/75R15 tire size will fit on 15 inch diameter rims that are 6, 6-1/2, or 7 inches wide. They will not fit on rims narrower than 6 inches. I recommend checking the width of your rims to determine if the new tires will fit. Another thing to note when moving to a different tire size is fender and frame clearance. The 225/75-15 tires are going to be slightly shorter and wider than your current tires. A 7.00-15...

  • Replacement Trailer Tires for 15 Inch Wheels to replace 7.00-15 Tire Size On A 15X5.5 Wheel
  • The Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire, # AM10244, will fit on a 15x5.5 inch wheel. It has a maximum load rating of 1,820 lbs. at 50 psi and an overall diameter of 27.3 inches. The overall width is 8.1 inches. I would not recommend installing the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire, # AM10256, on a rim width of 5.5 inches. The minimum rim width for that size tire is 6 inches. If you try to squeeze that size tire on a narrower wheel than what is recommended, it will cause the...

  • Replacement Trailer Tire for Size 7.00-15LT Load Range D 8 Ply Rated
  • We currently have the Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M, part # AM10414, which is the same 7.00-15 tire size that you have. It is a load range E (10 ply rated) tire which has a maximum load capacity of 2,376 pounds at 70 psi. You will want to check that this tire will have a load capacity that will meet the requirement for your boat trailer. There should be sticker or plate on the trailer frame somewhere that lists the capacity. You want the combined capacity of all the tires to match or exceed...

  • Compatible Modern Tire Size for 8.25-15 and 7.75-15 Size Tires
  • The tire sizes you mention are considered to be obsolete sizes. The 8.25-15 tire would have an 8-1/4 inch width and a diameter around 28-1/2 inches. The 7.75-15 tire would be around 7-3/4 inches wide with an approximate diameter of 27-3/4 inches. The closest modern tire size to the 8.25-15 would be a ST225/75-15, available in bias ply load range D as part # AM1ST96, or in radial load range D as part # AM10256 or load range C as part # AM10251. A ST225/75-15 would be about the same diameter...

Since the LT on this tire is after the tire size, it indicates that the tire can be used as a light truck or trailer tire. The overall diameter of part # AM10414 is 29.3 inches and is a load range E tire which is rated at 2,376 lbs at tire maximum PSI. • LT Tires for a Travel Trailer that Uses ST Tires on 15 Inch Wheels
  • Nearly all tires are made overseas now. But be that as it may, they still have to meet DOT requirements. Passenger vehicle tires should not be used on trailers because they are constructed differently. Trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall to handle more vertical load. What happens is if a trailer tire is under inflated, because of the thicker sidewall and the under inflation the tire builds up excessive heat and that is what leads to failure. Trailer tires should always be...

  • Availability of Trailer Tire that Can go Faster than 65 Miles Per Hour
  • There are a few trailer tires that have a higher than 65 speed rating. For example the LT tire part # AM10414 has a 70 miles per hour speed rating. This is a tire designed for a 14 inch rim though so it would require a new wheel and tire. Tire failure is usually caused by a few things. It can be from overloading the trailer, improper tire inflation, and/or exceeding the speed rating for the tire. You should verify that the tire capacity you have for you trailer is adequate for how...

  • Recommended Tire Size for Upgrading Tires From 7.00-15LT on My Horse Trailer
  • Good news, I can help you find a tire for your Sundown Horse Trailer. The 205/90-15 is a close tire size to the 7.00-15. The closest size to a 7.00x15 tire that we offer would be a 225/75-15. One 225/75-15 tire that could work for you is the Kenda # AM10303, this tire would be slightly shorter and a little wider than your 7.00-15 tire. Something to keep in mind is that a 7.00-15 tire typically fits 15 x 5-1/2 inch wheel. The ST225/75R15 tire size will fit on 15 inch diameter rims...

The 7.75 is the section width of the tire and our 7.00-15 has a section width of 7.8 inches and is 29.4 inches tall so it would potentially be a good match. It is rated for 2,403 pounds at 70 psi. Another option is to go with a 205/75-15 tire which will have a section width of about 8 inches and outer diameter of 27.13 inches. A load range B in this size,...

  • You are going to need to know a few things before you will be able to know if you can go to a bigger wheel/tire combination. • ST Rated Tire Recommendation for a 6x12 Enclosed Trailer
  • For a trailer you will want to use tires that are ST rated. P rated,or passenger rated, tires are not designed to carry weight like a trailer does and should not be used on a trailer at all. The sidewalls are constructed differently and will be more prone to blowing out than an ST tire due to excess heat build up. • Wheel and Tire Recommendations for a Livestock Trailer with 5 Lug Wheels and 7.00x15LT Tires
  • I have a solution for you, but the 7.00x 15 LT tire size you have is a light truck tire size. LT tires should not be used on trailers although some do without issue. Trailer tires are designed with a thicker sidewall that can accommodate higher air pressures and the weight of the trailer load. Trailer tires should also be inflated to their maximum pressure that is stamped on the sidewall. The trailer tires that we carry are not intended to be used at speeds over 65 miles per hour, unless...

  • Best/Recommended Tire Pressure for Trailer Tires
  • Trailer tires should also be inflated to their maximum pressure that is stamped on the sidewall. At the maximum air pressure, the tires will perform and wear best, and get the best gas mileage. If a trailer tire is inflated to a lower air pressure than the maximum, the amount of weight that the tire can carry will be reduced. If a heavier load is put on the trailer tire than what is recommended for that air pressure, the sidewall of the tire could heat up and cause the tire to fail. You...
