Video Transcript for Kenda Tires and Wheels - Tire Only - AM10414 Review

Today we'll be reviewing part number AM10414. This is the Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M with a load range of E. The tire size is 7.00-15LT. Because the "LT" is after the tire size, that means that this can be used for trailer use as well. If the "LT" is before the tire size, then we would just be limited for a light truck use. This is designed to fit 15-inch by 5-inch, 15-inch by 5 1/2-inch and 15-inch by 6-inch wheels. It's going to give us a section width from outer edge to outer edge of 7.8 inches and an outer diameter, when fully inflated, from edge to edge of 29.4 inches. It's going to offer a load range of E with a 10-ply rating.

The maximum load is 2,403 pounds at 70 psi. You can see here with the unique tread design that it's going to offer good performance in wet or dry conditions. This also meets Department of Transportation requirements. It's also got all the indicators listed here on the outer wall of the tire. That way you can always use that as a quick reference guide if you ever need any of that information. That's going to complete today's review of part number AM10414.

This is the Kenda Light Truck Tire. .

I couldn't find these vintage bias ply trailer tires locally and found them at etrailer.com. I found two that matched my original Kenda 7.00 16 s but were even a stronger tire than what I already had. Wish I hadn't previously bought two radials locally and could have bought all four from etrailer. Their price was fair, good quality tire, quick and free shipping. Very, Very happy with this purchase, Thank you. 450359

Speedy delivery of an excellent product. This was a replacement for an accident-damaged one of a set of four tires purchased two years ago and that are giving vg service.. 156666

These are great tires. My Airstream only has one axle so each tire has to hold a ton. I was running Load Range D which was adequate but these are Load Range E so I now have a lot of margin of safety. The tires showed up on my front porch, I jacked up the trailer, pulled the wheels, took the whole project to the local tire shop where they mounted them for me. I came home, put them on the hubs, lowered the trailer to the ground, put away all my tools, and poured a beer. I'll be hauling this trailer on several trips this year that will total a couple thousand miles. I'm glad to have good rubber and thick cord. 341026

These tires are the best! I used them to drive to Madras, Oreg., for the great solar eclipse. I used them when I drove to LA to move my daughter after she finished grad school it was 104 degrees down there.

Loved the look of the tire, on my 71 trailer, much like original. I did have a problem, with the tires. After 7,000 miles they both devoleped an inverted dent in the tread, the tire manufacturer replaced them no problems, I have not been traveling on my new tires yet. 497975

Well, so far so good on my vintage single axle Airstream trailer! Have about 6K total on them with 5.5K north to Canada's Maritime Provinces, where the roads were less than optimal! I have a TPMS system on them and no loss of air and temps remained well within parameters going down the road. I like a tire that keeps on rolling! 598201

7.00 x 15" is a tire size getting harder to find. etrailer had them in stock and shipped them quickly. Can't ask for much more than great pricing and fast shipping. Oh, and these tires are fresh (less than a year old), not tires that have been sitting in a wharehouse somewhere for the past 5 years. 225489

Unpackaged, at local tire dealer having put on rim now. A difficult tire size and load rating to find at the larger tire dealers and nice to have it easily shipped to the house. Replacing a tire on a cattle trailer and needed the E Load rating in 7.00-15 size. Happy so far. 224986

Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Recommended Replacement 7.00x15LT Tire on Camper
  • We do have the 7.00 x 15LT replacement tires. We have the Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M - 7.00-15 LT - Load Range E # AM10414 rated for 2,403 lbs at 70 psi. We alternatively have the Kenda 7.00-15LT Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10412 rated for 2,156 lbs at 60 psi. Both of these are rated for 65 mph max speed. The previous has a 2 year warranty and is made for road use primarily and is a slightly better option for a camper. The latter has a 5 year warranty and is made for...

  • How To Determine Correct Tire and Wheel for Single Axle Trailer
  • You are definitely smart to switch to trailer tires from truck tires on your single axle trailer because they made with a stronger sidewall than passenger tires in order to prevent blowouts. In order to find the correct tire and wheel combo you will need to start by knowing the bolt hole pattern so you can fit the correct wheel on. For example, the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" White Spoke Wheel # A15R645WSD has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. I have added a link to a...

The Taskmaster # A16RTK6SM with silver mod wheel or the Taskmaster # TTWA16RTK6WS with steel white spoke wheel will be a great 10 ply rated tire and wheel for you horse trailer. Both of these tire and wheel combinations are rated for 3,520lbs max load at 80 psi and are speed rated for 81mph (speed rating M) and have a 2-year limited warranty. • The Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M - 7.00-15 LT # AM10414 has a load rating of 2,403 lbs at 70 psi and is the only 7x15 tire we carry. It however is not the best or only option for your current wheels. For the best tire for your wheels, I recommend the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # LHWL304. This tire is rated for 2,830 lbs at 80 psi. This tire has a 5 year warranty. For a wheel and tire combination for your spare, I recommend the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer...

  • Replacement 7.00 x 15 Tires for 1971 Frolic Camper Trailer
  • Though I would not be able to speak to an entire era, I can tell you that the tires we carry are tubeless and you would not want to use a tubeless tire on a wheel designed for tube tires. If you are using a tubeless rim I recommend replacing your current 7.00 x 15 LT tires with new ones, part # AM10414. If you need a new rim the only option we carry that is 4 lugs and has a 15" diameter is the Dexstar Vintage Steel Wheel # AM20501 or # AM20395 and they have a 4 on 9.44 bolt pattern. I...

  • Best Tire for a Tandem Axle Car Trailer with 7.00x15 Tires
  • I do have options for you but I can tell you now that your car trailer is not rated for anywhere near 15,000 lbs or 16,000 lbs so I highly recommend adjusting your load or purchasing a different trailer. The highest rated 7.00x15 trailer tire we offer is the Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M part # AM10414 which will give you a maximum weight capacity 9,612 lbs (2,403 x 4). • We actually have 7.00-15 tires if would like to just replace the ones you have now with the same size, part # AM10412 for load range d or part # AM10414 for load range e. However, the next closest metric tire we have is going to be a 225/75-15 which is going to be 1" smaller in diameter and 1.2" larger in width. For this, I recommend the Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer part # 724857519 for a premium replacement option or the Contender ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire part #...

  • The only direct replacement tire that is size 7.00-15 is Kenda Light Truck Tire # AM10414, which fits wheels that are 5", 5-1/2" or 6". You might be able to use 225/75-15 tires, which fit on 6" to 7" wheels, such as the Kenda # AM10251 or Contender # C22515D, though they are going to be around an inch wider and slightly shorter than your current tires, so you would need to measure to make sure you have the proper clearance. • Recommended 7.00-15 LT and 225/75-15 ST Tires for 28-ft, 8,500-lb Loaded Boat Trailer
  • The capacity of your tires is determined by their load range. The exact capacity should be listed on the tire itself. For instance, our Kenda Light Truck Tire K391M - 7.00-15 LT - Load Range E, Item # AM10414 has a maximum load of 2,403 lbs per tire and would be more than capable of towing your boat trailer with four tires. If you wanted to convert to a different tire type, I would suggest going with ST (Special Trailer) tires rather than LT (Light Truck) tires. Because the LT identification...

  • Diameter of Tire Sizes 7.00-15 and 255/70R15
  • The light truck (LT-type) tire size 7.00-15LT has an overall diameter when mounted and inflated of approximately 29.4-inches. The other tire size you referenced, 255/70R15, will have an overall diameter of approximately 29-inches. You can refer to the linked article on tire sizing for more on tire sizes and weight capacities. I also linked another helpful article and video on trailer tires that contain much useful information. In the tire size 7.00-15 we offer two bias ply tire options,...

  • Replacement 7.00-15 Size Trailer Tires with Load Range E
  • The only E rated 7.00-15 size tire we carry is part # AM10414 which is an LT. The LT is listed after the tire size which means it's rated for trailer use as well. It's maximum capacity is 2,403 pounds at 70 psi so it's plenty for your trailer's weight. For your weight capacity you can actually go down to the D rated tire, part # AM10412, of the same size. It's rated for 2,156 pounds at 60 psi so it's still plenty for you.

  • Yes. The Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Silver Mod Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Load Range D # A15R6SMD will give you a little more clearance than the 225s you have, but the internal dimension of the tire will still be slightly more than 6 inches as that is the wheel width so slightly more than 3 inches from center on the inside. If you want the classic look I recommend the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Black Steel Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Load Range D # AM32575 which has a load capacity of 2,540 lbs at 65 psi and a max speed rating of 65 mph. The good news is that you will not have to also replace a wheel and that we do have this one option that will work for you. You mentioned not using the trailer very often. • Can I Replace Trailer Tires with Light Duty Truck Tires
  • Thank you for trusting us at the beginning stages of your research! Trailer tires actually have a different design than passenger tires (like the light duty tires you are talking about) so you always want to stick with trailer tires for a trailer. The sidewall is more stiff because they don't have to help with a comfortable ride. This means that they are much better suited to handle the heavier trailer weights and they do a better job as dissipating heat when under a heavy load than...

They'll fit onto rims that are between 5 to 6 inches wide. When measuring a rim you need to measure at the bead seat where the tire makes contact with the rim. See the video I've linked that is on a wheel. If you skip ahead to about the 1:20 mark you'll soon see the rim's width being measured. The 7.00 is the measurement of...

  • Weight Capacity of 5th Wheel Trailer Tires Required Accounting for King Pin Weight in GVWR
  • Technically you do remove the tongue weight of the trailer from the tire load capacity for the GVWR. The tires only need to be rated for the weight that is actually on the tire, so the axles can even be rated slightly lower. This however is not normally the case. In most instances the axles and especially the tires are rated higher than the required capacity for the GVWR. For 15 inch tires the load rating of E is the highest rating we carry. This will be about 1" less in diameter and about 0.85" skinnier than the 225/75-15 tire. This tire has a load range of D (2,150 lbs at 65 psi) and a max speed rating of 87 mph.
