I just had the Kenda tires installed on our trailer and they look great. My impression is that they are well made and will serve my purpose just fine. My experience with etrailer.com was great. They were helpful in answering a couple of questions I had and they expedited the shipping of the tires, which was service over and above my expectations. I will definitely purchase tires from them again. 25716

Received the two trailer tires that I ordered, tires look good, mounted them, and replaced the worn out ones on my trailer, Haven't had time to use the trailer as yet, but the price is good and the free shipping was relatively fast. So far I'm very pleased with the merchandise. 123719

Have not utiilized them yet just put them into use this week . They will be stronger and perform better than the smaller tires with lower high way rating speed

I received the tires quickly, however I am a little disappointed in the date code on one of the tires. It is over a year ago. I have always loved dealing with e-trailer...this is my first disappointment with them. 589889

Comments

Its not unheard of for tires to arrive at our location that were manufactured a year or so before we receive them. The tires are manufactured overseas. After they are manufactured, they sit in a warehouse for a length of time until theyre loaded into a shipping container and ultimately onto a container ship and shipped to the US. The trip here and entry through US Customs can take more than a month. The tires then sit in a warehouse in the US until we order and receive them. Tires that are stored in a warehouse under somewhat controlled conditions dont age, flat spot or dry rot like tires that are exposed to the elements and UV radiation do. The fact that your tires were a bit older than a year when you received them will not have any negative effect on their lifespan or durability. They should be good for up to 6-7 years, assuming they are not stored in direct sunlight, not overloaded, kept properly inflated and their speed rating isnt being exceeded.

Tires are great but customer service was awesome!! The tires I originally had ordered online were not available so they actually called me to help me find a replacement and got them shipped out in record time. Then they followed up with an email when they saw they were delivered to make sure we were satisfied. This is what customer service is all about! Than you again for all your assistance. 614946

Very pleased with shipping and shipping time on the two 530/12 tires I ordered for my Flagstaff pop-up camping trailer. Wasn't sure how I was going to get them opened up enough to get them seated on my rims but decided to put a 12 inch inner tube I had from a Farmall Cub front tire inside and put just enough air to push them open the width of the rims. Left the tube in a couple days and when I deflated the tube the tires stayed open. Maybe someone else may want to try this. I haven't put them on my trailer yet so don't have a picture. Follow up later. 597309

Very pleased with the Kenda 5.30 X 12 tires. Local store wanted $70 plus tax for ONE tire that was only load range C (6ply). So I simply ordered TWO of these load range D (8ply) for $78 shipped to my door! Very happy with etrailer prices, selection, and customer service. Greg was very helpful. Plus fast free shipping, even at Christmas time. Definitely will use etrailer again in the future! 592245

The old tires on my trailer were 5.30-12 load range C. The new tires I ordered were the same size, load range D. I was a little concerned in that the C range tires call for a 4 in wide rim and the new load range D tires require a 4 1/2 in wide rim. I am glad to say the new "D" tires fit on my 4 inch rims with no problems. A word of warning however, they are VERY stiff and difficult to get on the rim. I had a tire shop do the work. 552999

I had the tires mounted last year before any camping was done. My first trip was about 250 miles each way and they held up well. The second trip was about 400 miles each way and they still did well. I was pleased with my purchase. Even the date of manufacture on the tire was only a couple of months old, so I knew they were fresh tires.

I made the mistake of buying my first set of tires for my trailer at Fleet Farm. They lasted one day and I had a hole in one and took both back. I received my order from etrailer in just a few days and the difference in tire was amazing! When you can sit on a tire with no rim on it and it doesn't collapse, you know something was done right! I would order these tires from etrailer again in a heartbeat! 223410

Ask the Experts about this Kenda Tires and Wheels

Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Can a 5.30-12 Size Tire be Replaced with a ST145/R12 Size Tire
  • Since both a ST145/R12 size tire, like the Kenda Karrier S-Trail # AM10130, and a 5.30-12 size tire, like the Kenda K353 # AM10068, fit a 12 inch wheel, a ST145/R12 size tire can replace a 5.30-12 size tire. Keep in mind that these tires do have slightly different diameters and widths though, so you will want to do some measuring to make sure that the ST145/R12 tire will fit on your trailer. The 5.30-12 tire that you currently have has a section width of 5.3 inches and has a diameter...

  • Is a Load Range D Trailer Tire Better for Long Trips than a Load Range C of the Same Size
  • Going with a higher load range within the same tire size has some benefits. It will have a higher ply rating which means the tire will be stronger. Keep in mind though that the higher capacity does not increase the capacity of the trailer. The issue you may run into though is with the wheels. If your wheels have a psi rating that is lower than what the tires are rated for then you can end up with leaks or damage though damage isn't as likely in the short term. The psi rating for...

  • What is the Speed Rating for Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire
  • The trailer tires we carry are rated for 65 miles per hour at most. Traveling 80 miles an hour will produce too much heat for a trailer tire. The problem is that trailer tires are made with a thicker side wall than passenger vehicle tires. This means that they can get hotter faster and going over the rated speed will lead to excessive heat build up. Excessive heat build-up in a tire can lead to diminished tread life and tire failure. Radial tires dissipate heat better but are still rated...

  • Capacity of 5.3 x 12 Tires and Wheels Compared to 175/80R13 Tires and Wheels on a Boat Trailer
  • According to our resident tire expert, trailer tires often fail because they are not used and maintained as much as automotive tires and/or they are not filled to the recommended psi which would cause a blowout. So it could be that type of issue, rather than the tires being too small. In this case, a load range D tire, 5.3 x 12, like # AM10068, is rated at 1,250 pounds at 105 psi. So total weight capacity of two would be 2,500 pounds. That is very close to the dry weight of the trailer,...

First, going with the larger, higher capacity tire will provide a stiffer ride for your trailer suspension and trailer. This will cause wear on the suspension parts. • 5.30-12 Tire Recommendation for a Livin Lite Quicksilver Pop Up
  • If you have a 5.30-12 tire size on your trailer currently I can safely recommend any of the 5.30-12 trailer tires we offer knowing that they will fit your rims. The part # AM10068 would be a great tire for you to use as it has a Load Range of D and will fit your rim. Generally speaking all 5.30-12 tire will fit either a 4 inch or 4-1/4 inch wide rim. Nearly all of these tires are mounted on 4 inch wide rims so I would be surprised if yours was a 4-1/4 inch wide rim.

  • Can a 5.30-12 Trailer Tire be Used in Place of a 4.80-12 Trailer Tire
  • Trailer tire sizes 4.80-12, 5.30-12, and 145/80-12 all fit the same wheel size. A load range C or D 5.30-12 tire does have a higher capacity than a 4.80-12 as do the 145/80-12 tires. You could switch to a different size tire and keep the same wheels however there are a couple of things to consider. First is the size difference. A 4.80-12 will be 20.5 inches tall and about 4.9 inches wide. A 5.30-12 will be 21.9 inches tall and about 5.5 inches wide. Only have of the difference is...

  • Is Load Range Important When Replacing Trailer Tires on a Popup Camper
  • The load range tire used is going to depend on the gross trailer weight capacity, which should be on a sticker or plate near the front of the trailer frame or in the trailer's literature. It probably also indicates the load range, or at least the capacity, on your existing tires. For a 5.30-12 we have 3 different load ranges: B, C, and D. For a load range B use # AM10064. It is rated for 840 pounds at 55 psi. For a load range C we have # AM10066 rated for 1,045 pounds at 80 psi. And...

  • Is the Kenda Tire part # AM10068 Made by Kenda or Loadstar
  • Kenda is the name of the tire manufacturer, and Loadstar is the name of the model or tread design of the particular tire. So to answer your question. Yes, the part # AM10068 is made by Kenda. I attached an FAQ article on trailer tires for you to check out as well.

  • Availability of 175/80-13 Trailer Tires with High Speed Rating
  • We recently started carrying Taskmaster tires, like the # TTWTRTM1758013C. This 175/80-13 Radial tire carries an M speed rating for up to 81 mph, which means it'll do better on the highway for you. Each tire has a C load rating, good for 1360 lbs of capacity when properly inflated to their maximum pressure of 80psi. Do you know the speed rating of the tires you were using? Many trailer tires are rated for 65 mph unless stated otherwise on the sidewall. As you found, heat is the killer...

  • Will the 5.30 x 12 Tire Size Fit a Small Camper With a 4.80 x 8 Tire
  • The 4.80 x 8 tire size that you have now is 16.1 inches tall and the overall width is 4.6 inches. If you go to the 5.30 x 12 tire size, the overall diameter is 21.9 inches tall and 5.6 inches wide. The first number (4.80 or 5.30) on the tire size designates the width range of your tire in inches. You will want to make sure you will have enough clearance on your camper for the 5.8 inch taller and 1 inch wider tire. I do not list a 5.40 x 12 tire size available. The 4.80 x 8 tire size...

  • Will the 5.30-12 Trailer Size fit Same Rim as a 4.8-12 Tire
  • 5.7.12 isn't a common trailer tire size. The closest size to that is the 5.3-12 which fits the same size rim as the 4.8-12. These two sizes fit 4 inch wide rims. For a trailer tire sized 5.30-12 that would fit your current rims you would want the part # AM10068.

  • Replacement Radial Tire for a Trailer With 5.30-12 4-Bolt Tires
  • If you are wanting to stick with a tire size of 5.30-12 then we currently only offer one option that has the Load Range D (1,250 lbs at 105 psi) which is rated to hold your Jayco Trailer at it's GVWR of 2,300 lbs, the Kenda K353 # AM10068. The only problem is that it is a Bias tire. What I recommend doing is going with a slightly different tire size. Kenda offers their Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 # AM10130 which is a Radial tire with the Load Range D that you are needing. This tire is...

  • Boat Trailer Tire Replacement Recommendation for a 155R12 Tire
  • Although we do not have a 155R/12C 83/81Q tire available, I was able to obtain a bit of information about it. That radial tire has a section width of 6.18 inches, an outer diameter of 21.4 inches, and a maximum load rating of 1080 pounds. The closest tire we offer to that is the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire # AM10068 that is a 5.30-12 size. This would be your best choice for a replacement.

  • Taller Trailer Tire Recommendation to Replace 4.80-12
  • The biggest tire we have that would fit the wheels you have on your trailer would be a 5.30-12. It would only be 1.5 inches taller though. For that you would need the part # AM10068. This would be slightly wider by about 1/2 an inch.
