I received the tires yesterday and they seem to be excellent quality. I expect them to handle the conditions that I have bought them for. 227383

Got the tires for a small camp trailer. Had them installed at a local tire shop for a few bucks each. Tires have performed well on the hwy and on gravel roads for the small trailer. 699775

I purchased Kenda 6 ply tires for a couple of trailers about a year ago and I've been happy with both sets. I've put plenty of miles on one trailer since I use it to haul my fishing boat. No problems at all. No flats, no rotting - tires look like new. I recommend these tires to all my fishing buddies. Any time spent on fixing a flat means less time fishing! 273070

I tried to buy these tires locally, but all the retailers either didn't have them or they wanted about 10 dollars more per tire than etrailer. One local tool and equipment dealer tried to get me to pay a recycling fee just to purchase the tires. The tires arrived in a few days and they are now supporting my boat. etrailer sent me notifications every step of the way, so I knew when my tires would arrive. I will definitely be buying all of my trailer tires from etrailer in the future!!! 650258

Just bought the Kendra tires for my lawn trailer, have them mounted but haven't had chance to use them yet. I will say however that I have never had a more pleasant sales transaction. It was easy, efficient, the price was very good and I was kept informed of my order status throughout the process. I.placed my order on Wednesday and had my tires the following Monday . I will use e-trailer again and would recommend them to my friends. 170686

I recently received my order from e-trailer. I ordered a Dexstar wheel, a pair of Kenda tires, a chrome when center cap, lug nuts and screw in studs. I read all the pertinent info supplied as well as check exactly the brands, sizes etc of the parts I was replacing. I was notified by email (from Phyllis) the day following the order placement that their was a shipment delay of the tires, I was supplied with equivalent tire replacements which could have been supplied to keep the order on time or wait a week and get exactly what I originally ordered. I waited and received everything faster then I thought it would have taken. Phyllis kept me updated every couple days on the order progress- so nice! I was a little unsure if the screw in studs would fit but ordered what seemed to be the best match (had to start somewhere & figured I could return if no fit) and studs and lugs fit as stock- exact matches. This was my 2nd order in two years and have had great customer service and better then stock replacement parts, certainly all for a cheaper price then I could ever find in NW Montana! Thank You all at e-trailer! 707543

Order came in quickly & product looks way better than the flimsy tires we order for our trailer from another company. The last tires both blew out on our first trip in our camper. Will post more after we travel in a few weeks on these. 401403

Replaced my 35+ years-old 4.80-12 trailer tires, thank God I never had a blowout at speed, but the sidewalls were dry-rotted bad enough to get new ones for safety. I switched to the Kenda K353 5.30-12 LR C tires so I don't need to worry about weight limit on my trailer. Haven't towed it more than a few miles, but it feels great w/ the newbies on the axle. 152255

Very happy with the price, and the amount of information available for the tires I purchased. I read a lot of the Q&A's, which helped determine these were the right tires for my trailer. I ordered on a Tuesday, around 5PM. Order seemed to have been packaged, and shipped within the hour. Less than 24 hours later, they were at my front door delivered. Super fast shipping, very pleased. I have not installed the tires, but my customer experience has been excellent. I will update if I have any issues as the tires wear, but overall happy. 756758

The tires look very similar to the ones they are replacing. If they last as long, then all will be hunky-dory! Arrived in one box, in good shape and in a reasonable time. Hope I can find someone who can mount them for me. 440724

Tires work great! Went cross country with them from California to Michigan. Had a loaded up utility trailer being pulled by a loaded up Ford Ranger. The tires did just as well in the desert as they did in the mountains and in rain. They sat outside on the trailer through a Michigan winter then worked like new in the spring on a trip down to North Carolina. Expected wear, with no dry rotting or anything. Highly recommend these tires. 276871

  • Can 4.80-12 Trailer Tires Be Replaced with 5.30-12 Tires
A 5.30-12 trailer tire like the excellent Kenda K353 # AM10066 will be about 0.7 inch wider and 1.2 inches taller than the existing 4.80-12 size tires you currently have mounted. As long as you have the fender and frame clearance available for this slightly larger tire then you can absolutely make this switch. Keep in mind that only half of each of those differences in size will actually affect these clearances. We recommend having at least 3 inches of clearance between the top of the...

  • Upgrading to Larger Tire on Trailer with 3-1/2 inches of Fender Clearance
In order to have enough clearance for your trailer to travel over bumps in the road, you will typically want to have at least 3 to 4 inches between the tire tread and the fenders. You will want at least 1 to 2 inches between the side wall and inside of the wheel well. With this in mind, you do not have much room to work with in terms of mounting a larger diameter tire without the risk of having some clearance issues. To move slightly up in size and capacity, I recommend looking at a...

  • Will The Kenda 5.30-12 Bias Tire, # AM10066, Replace A 4.80-12 Tire On A 4 Inch Wide Wheel
The Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 5.30-12 - Load Range C, # AM10066, will fit a 4 inch wide wheel. You will want to check clearances on your trailer to make sure the taller and wider tire will fit. The 5.30-12 tire size will be 1-1/4 inches taller in overall diameter and 3/4 inch wider.

  • Stronger, More Heavy Duty Trailer Tire to Replace 4.80-12 Tires on a Boat Trailer
What you could do is go up to the next highest load range. The tire will have a higher capacity and ply rating so it will be more heavy duty and last longer. Please note though that using higher capacity tires will not increase the capacity of the trailer. For a load range C tire in size 4.80-12 you can use # AM10062. It is rated for 990 pounds at 90 psi. It has a 6 ply rating. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. The other option I would...

  • How Much Taller is a 5.30-12 Trailer Tire Compared to a 4.80-12 Trailer Tire
For a 4.80-12 trailer tire, the overall diameter or height is 20.5 inches. For a 5.30-12 it is 21.9 inches. That is a difference of 1.4 inches but you will only see half of that, 0.7 inches, in added height. Please keep in mind that going to a taller tire will raise the center of gravity of the trailer and can lead to the increased likelihood of sway. Going up 0.7 inches may not be much of a factor but you will just need to be aware of the possibility. Also, the 5.30 tire will be...

  • Can a 4.80x12 Trailer Tire be Used as a Spare on a Trailer with 5.30x12 Tires
As a short term solution should you get a flat or blowout you could use a 4.80x12 in place of a 5.30x12. But you will want to get the 5.30x12 fixed or replaced as soon as possible. Having a different size on the trailer can affect capacity, tracking, tire wear, and overall ride quality. I recommend sticking with the 5.30x12 size as a spare to avoid any possible issues. We have numerous tire and wheel combos in this size which I have linked for you. You will want to match the load range...

  • Will Replacing Bias-Ply Tires With Radial Tires On 2003 Snowbear Utility Trailer Solve Bouncing
I spoke with our tire expert here and they told me that the 12 inch tires you have on your trailer can be balanced, and that perhaps the tire shop you were dealing with may not have the right equipment to handle your tire size. If it is bouncing when the trailer has a load then there may be problems other than the tires being out of balance. Trailer tires are designed to be run only when inflated to...

When comparing our Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire 4.80-12, # AM10062, to the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire 5.30-12, # AM10066, not only is the 4.80-12 tire narrower but it is also smaller in diameter and has a lower weight capacity. You should always use tires of the same size, load range, and construction on a trailer. If you use tires that don't match, you could experience problems including the tires wearing unevenly and tracking issues. I personally recommend replacing the tires...

  • Tire Blowouts on a 20 Ft. Boat and Trailer with 5.30-12 Load Range C Tires
Most trailer tire blow-outs are due to heat build up from an under-inflated tire. Trailer tires have a thicker side wall and when under inflated the thicker side wall generates more heat faster and can cause the tire to fail. You should always inflate a trailer tire to the max psi rating indicated on the tire. Always use tires rated for trailer use. They will have an ST in front of the size. I have linked an FAQ on trailer tires.

Trailer tires should be inflated when they are cold and should be inflated to the max psi rating on the sidewall. In your case you would want to run 80 psi. If you don't inflate them to the max psi figure you will lose weight capacity and potentially cause the tires to overheat and fail.

  • Why are 5.30-12 Sized Trailer Tires Heating Up Excessively on a Short Trip
If the tires are getting too hot there's a few things to consider. Things like the overloading the tires or trailer, not inflating them to their maximum psi, or exceeding their speed rating will cause the tires to built up too much heat. I also don't recommend having two different tires on the trailer. Even though they're the same size and rating doesn't mean all is created equal. If you need replacement tires we have # AM10066 that are 5.30-12 sized tires with Load Range C. They're...

  • Why Does a 12 Inch Trailer Wheel have a 13 Inch Diameter Overall
Wheel diameters are not measured using the overall diameter. The are measured for diameter where the tire sits so the diameter is less than the overall diameter of the wheel. With 5.30-12 tires you have 12 inch wheels so tire # AM10066 will fit.

None of our tires are rated for certain per day mileage, however, you should be just fine using any of our tires to travel this distance. The majority of tires used on pop-up campers are bias ply and will work well for your application. For a 5.30-12 trailer tire, I recommend using the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire part # AM10066. The trailer tires we carry are rated for 65 miles per hour at most. Traveling 80 miles an hour will produce too much heat for a trailer tire. The problem is that trailer tires are made with a thicker side wall than passenger vehicle tires.
