Speedy delivery and high quality products. I ordered the RV tire cover as well as 5 trailer tires. I had to replace the awful and extremely poor quality tires that came with the Farm-Tuff Utility Trailer — 2,200-Lb. Capacity, Model# 03813 wagon that i ordered from Northern Tool. 539421

Tires still in great shape, even having endured a long snowy mountain winter.

I wore out 2 Carlisle tires on the other side of this trailer since I purchased this, so I bought 2 more matching tires with silver wheels and re"tired" this one to the spare even though it shows very little wear. Just wanted to change out the white rim. Only Loadstar from here on... 625465

I love, love, love this trailer tire. I have purchased and installed six of these tires, on vintage Cushman 24volt Industrial Electric vehicles (3 wheelers) and they are a GREAT addition. Classic tread design, Art Deco, Saw-Tooth side-wall styling, and rugged tire design - a perfect tough tire that adds a great finishing touch to your vintage restoration project. 505189

I ordered 2 of these 6-ply tires from e-trailer in July '14 after I blew one of my previous 4-ply tires (different brand) and have had good luck w/ the Kenda's after approx 1,000 miles. These are mounted on a 1967 Cox Cadet pop up camper - approx 750 lbs. I just ordered 2 more for spares for a couple of long upcoming summer trips. The Kenda's seem like one of the better quality tires in this size that I've found out there. E-trailer service was fast, and for the first set purchased in July, I had e-trailer 2-day the new pair to my next RV campsite in Asheville NC & they were waiting for me when I arrived! 179613

My B rated tires were showing their age so I opted for c tires though they requires higher pressure. etrailer has been my go to trailer supplies store for several years now great prices great selection and great service! 697489

After having issues with the trailer tires on the trailer that I tow behind my touring motorcycle, I was pointed to these. I mounted them myself, used Dynabeads to balance them, and they went 2000 miles without a problem. Something the other tires couldn't do. Thank you for the recommendation. 680151

Product arrived ahead of schedule. Very pleased with ordering, delivery and product. These tires replaced standard 2 ply tires on a small dump cart. The new tires are much stronger and should eliminate the constant flat tire problem. They are very stiff and will require proper equipment to install. I actually paid $5/tire for someone else to mount them, thereby saving my knuckles. 617485

Bought for small aluminum boat trailer to replace tire/rim bought locally. Tire looks more substantial than the discount store tire, time on trailer will tell. Their tires bulging after short time, had 3 tires bulge in tread area in one year of light usage. 613019

They are doing GREAT !!! THey were a bother to get mounted, but I am happy with the result. They don't leak, and the machine (log splitter) has been towed at reasonable speed and distance since then without issue. 581812

I ordered the tires for my motorcycle trailer and figured standard shipping would be fine since I'm not planning any long trips for a few months. I was very surprised to get an email from George stating the tires where shipping the same day I ordered them AND they had upgraded my shipping to express for no extra charge. I received the tires in 4 days. Quality looks great. Not on the trailer yet but I cannot imagine there being any problem mounting them since I will have my mechanic do the job. I will certainly order other products from etrailer.com and recommend them to my motorcycle buddies. 441848

Exactly what I wanted. Dozens of regular tire stores and auto parts stores do not carry these small size trailer tires. Even RV, camping, and boating dealers don't; they just have larger tires/wheels for bigger rigs. I spent an entire morning searching around San Diego to replace a trailer tire that had blown out on the freeway. Fortunately I had a spare tire/wheel with me but was reluctant to get back on the road without another spare. 409304

Tire arrived on time, and is excellent quality. It was impossible for me to mount on the wheel; one side was convex and the other concave, so getting rim contact to contain air promised to be a problem, but I could not even force one side over the wheel rim. Took the tire and wheel to a local tire business, and was fortunate to see it done. The burly operator was able to force tire on wheel, but couldn't establish rim contact. After a futile struggle he attached a VERY high pressure air tank and injected a blast of air that was more like an explosion, forcing the tire to balloon out and make rim contact. After that, no problem... 333840

Received all I ordered all in one large box. All of the goods received were in perfect condition. One item was the wrong size and had no problem returning the two items. Customer service sent me an E-mail describing how to return the items I could not use. The inconvenience was my fault. I had to open the packages but was unable to use the parts. E-trailer said just send them back in their original packages and we will refund your purchase priced in the same manner you purchased them. Thank You E-trailer! 297917

Do you have a question about this Tires and Wheel?

  • Speed Rating of 8 Inch Trailer Tires
  • We have several different tire sizes that fit on 8 inch wheels but they all have the same 65 MPH speed rating. They're all bias Kenda tires and I've linked video reviews of each of them for you. # AM10002 is 4.80/4.00-8 - Load Range B # AM10004 is 4.80/4.00-8 - Load Range C # AM40537 is 18x8.50-8 - Load Range B # AM10010 is 5.70-8 - Load Range B # AM10012 is 5.70-8 - Load Range C # AM1HP22 is 165/65-8 - Load Range C # AM1HP28 is 215/60-8 - Load Range D

  • Torque Spec for 1/2-20 Lug Nuts on 14 Inch Aluminum Boat Trailer Wheels
  • For the 1/2 inch lug nut # 12CLN-L and the 14 inch aluminum wheels you will torque each lug nut to 75 to 85 foot pounds. No lubricant is required. However, since this is on a boat trailer and the hub studs are likely raw steel a little lube would help keep corrosion at bay. There isn't a specific product I would recommend since they all do about the same job. If you need a torque wrench we have # ALL944001 which is a basic torque wrench rated from 10 up to 150 foot pounds.

  • How to Find Correct Replacement Tires for 4.80 - 8 4 Ply Trailer Tires
  • Your 4.80-8 size tire is the same as a 4.80/4.00-8 size tire. If the tires and rims are all original then we know they're compatibe with one another so there's no need to measure anything. It also says you have a 4-ply tire which is Load Range B. The tire probably mentions a maximum weight capacity as well which is better to use than the ply rating. Look for this number and make sure the tires you get are rated or at least as much capacity as what you have. Looking at your picture...

  • Best 4.80-8 Trailer Tire for a Trailer Towed Behind a Motorcycle
  • First, trailer tires should be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. This is because trailer tires are built with a thick sidewall to handle more vertical load. If under inflated it will cause the thick sidewall to generate excessive heat and lead to tire failure. Without enough weight on the tires the trailer can bounce some. If it is feasible to do so add additional weight to the trailer to minimize that vertical movement. Kenda makes a good tire and for a 4.80-8 tire...

If you want the wheel along with the tire, we have the 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern # AM30040 or the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern # AM30060. These tires are rated for a max speed of 65 mph.

  • What is the PSI Rating for Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Load Range C Trailer Tire
  • The Kenda trailer tire # AM10004 is rated for 745 pounds at 90 psi. You should always inflate trailer tires to the maximum psi they are rated for. This is because trailer tires are constructed with a thicker side wall to handle more vertical load. If under inflated that thicker side wall will generate excessive heat and cause tire failure. • Replacement Trailer Tire Recommendation for a 18.5x8.5-8 Tire
  • The 18.5x8.5-8 is actually an old tire size that is not used much anymore. The closest metric size to your existing tire would be 215/60-8, which is what I would recommend. The 4.80-8 tire size that you are interested in is designed to fit 3-3/4 inch wide rims, whereas the 215-60-8 that is close to what you have currently is designed to fit 7 inch wide rims so I do not think a 4.80-8 would install on your rim. Plus the fact that the 4.80-8 has much lower capacity than the 215/60-8 tire...

One advantage a bias tire does have over a radial is a stiffer sidewall, a feature that is useful for off road applications. The 4.80/4.00-8 trailer...

The trailer tires that we carry are rated for 65 miles per hour. You do not want to exceed the speed rating because it will build up excess heat. Trailer tires should always be inflated to their max PSI figure. The part # AM30030 is an example of LR B tire in the size you have that has a 60 psi capacity.

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation for Trailer with 18.5x8.5-8 Tires Carrying 1,800 lbs
  • In your tire size of 18.5x8.5-8 the highest load range we have is D like the part # AM1HP28 which has a capacity of 1,165 lbs at 70 psi. That means it would provide you with more than enough capacity and would work well. I attached a review video for this tire for you to check out as well.

  • What is the Best Way to Determine the Correct Bearings on a Snowmobile Trailer
  • The definitive way to determine the bearings needed for any trailer is to remove the hub and inspect the bearings. The bearing numbers will be stamped into the metal of the bearings. If you have a round axle and can determine the diameter of it, along with the wheel size, bolt pattern, and any other information you can provide, I may be able to determine what the correct bearings are. I have included a link to a video that might help if you decide to take the hub off.

  • Does a Spare Tire have to Match the Regular Tires on a Boat Trailer
  • Having a different rating and psi rating on a spare is permissible so long as you do not have to go far to get a new tire and as long as the capacity of that tire is enough for the capacity of the trailer. Ideally, your spare tire should be exactly the same as the regular tires to avoid any compatibility issues. Not only should the spare be the same size, capacity, load range, and have the same psi rating but it should also be the same construction; either bias ply or radial. Tire...

  • Will the 5.30 x 12 Tire Size Fit a Small Camper With a 4.80 x 8 Tire
  • The 4.80 x 8 tire size that you have now is 16.1 inches tall and the overall width is 4.6 inches. If you go to the 5.30 x 12 tire size, the overall diameter is 21.9 inches tall and 5.6 inches wide. The first number (4.80 or 5.30) on the tire size designates the width range of your tire in inches. You will want to make sure you will have enough clearance on your camper for the 5.8 inch taller and 1 inch wider tire. I do not list a 5.40 x 12 tire size available. The 4.80 x 8 tire size...
