Limited Warranty with Free Tire Replacement

This tire has a limited warranty with free tire replacement on workmanship defects. You are eligible for this warranty within the first 12 months from date of purchase or the first 2/32" of usable tread, whichever comes first.

Goodyear Endurance Radials

This radial ply tire from Goodyear is constructed with double steel belts and triple polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation and an inner liner made out of halobutyl rubber reduces air loss.

Goodyear Endurance Durawall Technology

This Goodyear Endurance tire was built with Durawall technology, which is used on a lot of Goodyear's light truck tires for severe, heavy-duty use. This technology consists of a rubber compound that reinforces the sidewall to help prevent cuts, punctures, and other damage. Furthermore, the tire has a scuff guard, which is the raised strip of rubber on the sidewall. This protects the tire from abrasion if you hit a curb.

Goodyear Endurance Tread

And unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Goodyear Endurance tires has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. This greatly improves traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Goodyear Endurance Coupling Grooves

The tread also consists of decoupling grooves that run along the outer edges of the tire. These grooves help evenly distribute the pressure that is put on the tire from contact with the road. When this happens, the grooves wear out faster than the surrounding tread, which minimizes irregular wear, especially when you're towing. Additionally, these outer edges usually heat up more quickly than the rest of the tire, and these decoupling grooves help keep it cool.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Video Transcript for Goodyear Tires and Wheels - Tire Only - 724857519 Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to take a look at the Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range E. Now this was a radial trailer tire, which is great for highway use. It is a special trailer tire design, so it couples a strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. It is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on any other vehicles. On this Goodyear tire, they do use an optimized tread depth and on each side or shoulder here they use decoupling grooves to help the tire remain cool while towing heavy loads. They do use a specialized inner liner on it to minimize air loss in trailer applications, because of the use of 100% halobutyl rubber. Does use Durawall technology, which helps resist sidewall cuts and punctures.

And there's even a little raised area here that's a scuff guard, helps provide sidewall protection. Now this is a polyester radial tire with two steel belts and a nylon overlay. Gives you improved durability and carrying capacity. This tire is compatible with TPMS, the tire pressure monitoring systems. It does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specification and this tire sort of unique because this is the only trailer tire being made in the USA now, most all the tires are made overseas.A few specs on this, this tire is designed to fit on a wheel width of 15" by 6" wide, 15" by 6-1/2" wide, and 15" by 7" wide wheels. The tire size which is stamped on the sidewall right here, ST for special trailer, 225/75R15, the R means it's a radial design tire.

Section width on this size 8.8". Overall diameter from the bottom to the very top when it's inflated is 28.3. This tire is a load range E, which means it's a 10 ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 2,830 pounds at 80 PSI.And the last thing I do want to mention is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating on them now. And a speed rating they designate by a letter designation and where that is on the tire, if you'll go right down on around the bead here, you'll see the tire size again repeated.

Right after it, you'll see two numbers which are the load index and the letter N. Speed rating N on this tire means it's an 87 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on the Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire, in a load range E.

Bought these to replace my Goodyear Marathon travel trailer tires, which were 6 years old. The Marathons were great tires, so figured the new Endurance tires should be similar or better. Just had mounted yesterday so can’t say yet, here’s hoping. I commend etrailer for their excellent service. I ordered them mid day on a Tuesday, free shipping, was given estimated arrival of following Wednesday at the latest. To my surprise they showed up 3 days later on Friday morning! Also they stood by their low price guarantee and promptly refunded the difference plus 10% when I forwarded a link showing a competitors lower (slightly) price. Ill definitely use etrailer in the future. 719129

Tire is highly rated by RV owners and seems to be an expensive but good replacement for the china BOMBS that forest river and other trailer manufactors put on new trailers. On U- tube many people have had damageing blowouts with brand new tires with less than 6,000 miles on them. My blow out was in Maine with trailer damage and i am in the process of using these Endurance tires as i can afford...wish it was forest rivers bill. 738853

  • Does Goodyear Endurance 225/75R15 Trailer Tire 724857519 Require Dynamic Balancing
Trailer tires such as the Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 Radial # 724857519 do not absolutely have to be dynamically machine balanced the way passenger car tires do but you certainly can do this if you want to. A full-service tire shop will probably have the necessary equipment to do this. In most instances the benefit of dynamically balancing trailer tires will not be nearly as noticeable as it is on passenger vehicle tires since any vibration from the trailer tires is isolated from...

For a wheel I recommend the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20539 which is a silver color, has the same weight rating, comes with a limited 2-year warranty, and is made here in the USA. I do not recommend siping or cutting thin slits across the surface of the The Goodyear trailer tires like part # 724857519 because it could lead to a blow out eventually. Actually Goodyear designed the trailer tread with broken up ribs (compared to long continuous ribs) that let water escape to improve traction so you don't really need to modify the tread. Going from a trailer tire size of ST205/75-15 to an ST225/75-15 is a very common upgrade that works well for most people as long as there's the needed clearance for the larger tire. The larger tire size is only 1.3 inches taller so as long as you have the wheel well clearance you'd be perfectly fine. In the upgraded tire size the Goodyear Endurance part # 724857519 is the way to go as it's a USA made trailer tire with plenty of capacity, a higher speed rating, and has an automotive...

Going from the tire size of 205/75-15 to 225/75-15 is a pretty common change for trailer wheels. There are two things you'll want to verify though. First is that your wheel is either 6 inches wide or 6-1/2 inches wide. Those two widths are the two widths that overlap between both tire sizes. Next is that you'll have a tire that's going to be 1.3 inches taller which means your fender clearance will be .65 inches less than what you have now. Normally this is not an issue at all. • What Are Pros and Cons of Going to Larger Trailer Tire Size? 205/75-15 to 225/75-15
The biggest advantage and reason most people go with a larger trailer tire is the increased weight capacity that the larger tires offer. The larger diameter offers a negligible amount of better ride quality for the trailer since the larger the tire the less "affected" it is by smaller bumps. You can also gain a bit more ground clearance if needed as well, but really it's mostly about gaining weight capacity and then determining if you have the needed fender/frame clearance to go to the...

This is a really good question...so at one point (not long ago at all) every trailer tire manufacturer used the same recommendation for tire pressure which was always run the max psi to ensure you get full weight capacity and prevent heat build up.
