Konig's innovative design makes the CG9 snow chains quick and easy to attach and remove. Once the chain is looped around the tire and the three color-coded connections are made, the patented self-centering, automatic tensioning system takes over, creating a perfect fit as you drive away. You need to get out of the car only once. To remove the chains, simply unhook the connections and unwrap the chains from around the tire.
Konig snow chains are handmade in Italy of hardened manganese nickel alloy steel for ultimate durability. Features include dual-sided, 9-mm-diameter, D-shape links that provide superior traction for excellent grip on snow and ice. Anti-scratch nylon bumpers protect your vehicle's wheel rims.
Included with each pair of chains are mounting instructions, a kneeling mat and a pair of gloves, all packaged in a sturdy container. Konig's CG9 tire snow chains are backed by a 5-year warranty.
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Overall I’m pleased with the service you provided with one exception. When I looked for chains for my Chevy Volt I thought I was being directed to the correct product but that was not the case. So I had to send the chains back at a cost of about twenty dollars. I do feel that it was your mistake not mine. If not for that you would certainly have received a five star rating.

Hello - thanks for sending the chains for my tires. I haven't yet had the chance to use them in the snow, and my fingers are crossed that I don't have to. However, I was very appreciative of how well the products were described on the website, and they even had links to videos on how to hook the chains up. I was able to practice putting them on, and technology has come a long way from the past chains I have used where you lay them out, then drive over them and then hook them up. It took less than 5 minutes to hook up one tire, the instructions are clear, and they fit as expected for my size tire. The case that they come in is compact, and well organized. I will revisit this review if they don't hold up as expected in the snow, as that's where the true test is, but for now - all has been a great experience.
I placed an order recently for Thule self tensioning tire chains for snow and ice for my 2017 Honda Civic car. The staff was professional and returned to me a refund on my shipping cost due to the item at the time being unavailable to be shipped in a short period of time. I decided to wait until the product became available. I received the product. It is a practical and solid product with a case and easily fits in my trunk leaving plenty of other space as needed. Thank you.
The chains have not been used. I bought them just in case it was needed on my trip. When it arrived, I tried fitting it to the tire. It was easy to install and fit perfectly. The design is excellent and at 9 mm thick, there was ample clearance between the inside of the tire wall and the shock absorber. It also had protective caps to prevent scratching of the alloy wheels. I had tried another make that was advertised as only 6 mm thick, but in reality was in jeopardy of scraping the shock absorber because of its stiff joints. There was also no protection for potential scratching of the alloy wheels.
The chains arrived very quick and were very easy to install ,look great on my hhr waiting for snow to try them out thank you so much.
Extremely easy to install on the tires. After a couple practice runs, I can have each tire chain on and secure in about 45 seconds. These are definitely worth every penny when you're in a turnout getting snowed on.
Arrived fast! This is the replacement for exactly the same model that use to be Thule and lasted 5 years.
Products shipped exactly as advertised. Very smooth.
Easy to use, work as advertised, would buy again.

Well, I would say a little harder to put on correctly than advertised, but I called customer support and they helped me. Also watching all of the videos helped because each one was worded a little differently. Definitely would suggest one or two dry runs before you are in the elements. Important to realize to slide the plastic coated cable to the backside of the tire and center the chains after connecting the plastic coated cable and the small red hook. Once I figured this out I was able to almost perfectly center the chains (at least on one tire). On the other tire I couldn't get it perfectly centered (see photos). After about an 1/8 of a mile of very low speed driving it still didn't center but maybe with more driving at higher speeds it would. Also important to remember to have the yellow end of the chain on your right hand side beofore sliding behind the tire and making the first connection. One question I still have is how tight to pull the tension cable after you put it through the stop device. Every video seems a little bit different as to how tight you pull the cable by hand before connecting it to the tensioning device. As far as taking them off I tried four times to line up my car perfectly so I wouldn't have to drive over the chains after disconnecting them but this was not possible for me. So, with the plastic coated cable on top I just disconnected the connections in reverse and then put all the hooks and components off to the side and drove off/over the chains, which seemed to work fine. Will see how they work in the snow and ice but I'm hopeful they will do well.

The Konig self-adjusting tire chains were used on 4 trips to the Sierra Nevada last year in R2 and R3 conditions from Jan-Apr. They installed very quickly and worked flawlessly each time. They have been used twice this season with the same results. They have saved time and worked well.

We bought these to keep in our Subaru Outback. We already have snow tires but having these handy in case of an emergency or getting through chain checks is really helpful. This is our second set of Konig chains (we also have a set for our other car) and they've been durable and reliable. The shipping is also fast!

I bought these chains for my daughter who is moving to Chicago from California. The owners manual of her Jeep Compass warns about the limited clearance and these chains were perfect because of their low profile. I also bought these particular chains (I now own 3 sets) for their ease of use. Snow is not something that any of my girls are used to being from California's Central Valley and putting chains on was not something that any of them had the faintest clue about. These chains are so easy to install that my wife and daughter were actually racing each other the other day to see who could install faster. My youngest daughter and wife are driving across county as I type this review carrying with them these Thule chains and I am confident that they and their Thules will handle any snow they encounter.

Haven't gotten to road test them yet, but the installation was very easy and fast, as advertised, and the self-tensioning mechanism appears to work well. The most complicated part was learning to line up my wheels to take them off properly, but once I figured that out, I expect that won't be an issue either, and the instructions were clear and simple. These seem to fit perfectly on my Honda Fit and leave plenty of clearance in the wheel well. The carrying case they come in is nice and includes a drop cloth to kneel on and optional plastic guards you can add to the chains to protect your sidewalls and hubcaps. Overall impressed and glad to have these in my car for snow season.

Easy on after untangling. Safely up the mountain with no problem. Easy off. Found that individually bagging each chainset reduced tangling and eased storage in the provided carrying case. Hope this helps. Thanks etrailer.com for being there.

The chains I had originally ordered were out of stock, but they called me to let me know and we found a very similar alternative, that even saved me a bit of money. Overall very friendly and helpful! The chains showed up quickly and in good condition. They fit perfectly on my Crossfire!

Works great. Takes some practice to put on. I wouldn’t use this at high speeds or for long distances.

We made sure to practice installing these when they first arrived....highly recommended because roadside installation can be stressful. Installation was pretty simple. They survived one part of a trip through snowy mountain conditions. The following morning, about one minute after talking about how great the chains worked....one broke. The connector on the back side of the tire broke off the chain rendering the entire chain useless. A five year warranty was more like a 24 hour warranty. Luckily, we were close to an auto parts store to get replacement chains that were actually easier to install. I had cleared all ice from the wheel well before trying to drive off so I have to think this was a defective chain. I'm just glad it got us to our destination before completely failing. Maybe we were just unlucky but I think this is a serious quality concern.

We put the chains on the tires, but have not used them yet. Very easy to put on. The instructions aren't very good relative to the cable that goes on the rear of the tire. The key is the cable is put on behind the tire, not around the outside of the tire. By holding the two ends of the cable at the top back of the tire, you can easily connect the two and hook up the other chain connections. No issues removing them either. It does help to have the tire in the same orientation, which is easy by using the large red connector as focus. Doesn't have to be exact, but you may have to move the car because part of the chain may still be under tire.

I bought these chains for my 2013 Mazda 3 for a trip into the mountains. I didn't think I would actually need them that early in the year, but eventually I was required to use them. When I unboxed the chains I was a little puzzled since I ordered 'Thule' chains but received a box labeled 'König'. I was a little afraid having received the wrong product, but apart from the branding the product looked identical to what I ordered and some online research confirmed that Thule and König are associated. Would have been nice to have a notice about that though. I practiced putting on the chains once in best conditions at home. It wasn't really that complicated and the instructions are easy to follow. I'd recommend doing such a practice run though, since you don't want to face this for the first time at the roadside in the snow. A few weeks later I was returning from a trip into the mountains and one pass required chains (or other traction equipment, but for me that meant chains). I got the chains out and went over the instructions again and then started putting the chains on. I was glad I had done the practice run at home and got the chains on fairly quickly without bigger trouble (and I saw plenty of people at the roadside struggling with theirs or paying for that service). With that I made it across the pass. On the other side of the pass I found taking the chains off more troublesome than putting them on. The chains itself worked great and it wasn't a problem to loosen and detach them but it's a little inconvenient since the chains need to be in the right position to come off the wheel (it's all in documented in the instructions though). I guess with a 2nd person directing the driver when to stop it would be very simple, on my own I had to move the car back and forth tiny bits to get the positioning right (i.e. i was jumping in and out of the car moving it a bit and checking tire/chain position).

Incredibly fast shipping to US to Canada. Very pleased with service. Product is exactly as described. Have used these chains before and they do the job.
