Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.
This tie-down kit is perfect for strapping down your motorcycle. It includes 4 ratchet straps with built-in shocks to keep the straps tight around your bike so that you won't have to stop and tighten them while traveling.
Unlike traditional straps, which don't stretch or contract, these tie-downs are uniquely designed with built-in shock absorbers that allow the straps to maintain constant tension on your load as you travel. These are great for motorcycles, which have bouncing suspension systems that can compress and rebound when you travel rough terrain.
The webbing of standard straps can't stretch or contract to absorb impacts. As a result, standard tie-downs might become detached from their anchor points, or they may become slack around your bike as it shifts.
But these ratchet straps each feature 2 built-in urethane shocks that are designed to absorb impact and to allow give. This ensures that the tie-downs stay taut and won't loosen over time. The built-in shocks help to keep the tie-down from coming loose or failing, which could result in lost or damaged toys.
In addition, the shock ensures a longer life for the strap webbing. The constant compressing and rebounding of your bike's suspension during travel can wreak havoc on ordinary straps. The webbing is likely to experience more wear and tear as it rubs along your gear. But the ShockStrap's shocks absorb these jolts so that the webbing of the tie-downs stays put instead of wearing over the edges of your equipment.
Each tie-down features a commercial-grade, field-replaceable ratchet that is easy to use. To release the ratchet, grab the oversized handle and pull on the release lever. The release lever is positioned on the outside of the ratchet to ensure safe and easy operation, even if you're wearing gloves.
Once your motorcycle is in your truck bed or on your trailer, place the front tire of the bike in a wheel chock (sold separately). Placing your toy in a wheel chock helps to hold the bike in position during travel.
Each strap has soft loops built in so that you can tie down your bike without having to worry about the metal hooks or hardware of the straps potentially scratching or scuffing it. To use the soft loops, simply cinch the strap around a secure location on the bike, and run the tie-down's hook through the loop.
There are 4 straps included in this kit - 2 for use on the front of your bike and 2 for use on the rear. Each of the straps should be wrapped around a sturdy part of your bike. At the front, this area would typically be the base of the handlebars or the lower triple clamp. At the rear, you can connect the straps to accessible points on the frame. When you attach the tie-down straps to your truck or trailer, be sure to anchor them so that the bike is pulled down at all 4 corners. Your bike should be upright, not slanted. And the straps should be angled anywhere from 10 degrees to 60 degrees as they stretch from the bike to the anchor points.
Once the hooks are in place, tighten the webbing and activate the shocks. To tighten each strap, crank the ratchet mechanism until the webbing is taut. Tightening the straps will also compress the bike's suspension just enough to maintain tension when you hit bumps on the road. You'll want to compress the suspension about halfway. The tension should be even on both sides to prevent sway and bouncing. Be sure not to overtighten the strap. If your hand cannot fit between the shock and the safety strap, the strap is too tight.
Next, you'll want to activate the shocks. To do this, just tighten the straps a bit more, stretching the shocks until light is visible through the bolt holes in each shock. In warm climates, the shocks can stretch up to 2", while in subzero climates you may only get about 1/2" of give.
Once the straps have been tightened and the shocks have been activated, just make sure your motorcycle is completely secure and then tie off any extra slack.
The sturdy, UV-resistant polyester webbing of these tie-down straps has a high tolerance for abrasion and water absorption.
The shocks are made of urethane, which can withstand elements such as sunlight, saltwater, moisture, oil, fungi, and most chemicals. These shocks also function in nearly any temperature, holding up to hot and cold weather conditions without losing elasticity or becoming unyielding or brittle over time.
Each ratchet strap also features a Grade 8 bolt and nylock nut. The rust-resistant, yellow zinc chromate coating on the buckle and the hooks holds up to the roughest weather conditions. The oversized, 3/8" hooks also feature a protective rubber coating to prevent damaging your bike, truck, or trailer while in transit.
A safety strap is also built into each tie-down to provide peace of mind should something happen to the shock. This safety strap ensures that if the tie-downs are used improperly, overloaded, or unduly stretched, your bike will remain secured.

thanks again great price fast service 657692
Best tie downs I ever had. Never felt comfortable hauling my full size Ktm, my dirt bikes or Atv’s long distances until I got these. Build quality is outstanding and if you take care of them, they are probably the last tie downs you’ll ever buy. The rubber shock absorbers really work well, especially on dirt roads. For peace-of-mind when hauling, you need these. Spend the money once- all those cheap straps that last only a year or two add up. 655920
Although I have not used the straps yet, I am very happy with the quality of them. I installed the Jack stand yesterday, nice quality, the double wheels make it easy to maneuver the trailer around. Thank you! 585944
Good-looking product playing on trailer in my motorcycle to Sturgis we'll see if it works 542411
Quality of product is fantastic. My only issue with these is that the portion with the ratchet handle is so long, that the handle makes contact with bikes with large fairings while ratcheting (in my case, a BMW R1200RT). This makes it physically impossible to release tension by fully extending the handle. Ratchet side measures approximately 25.5 inches, with 2 inches of slack for the spring, when measured from the s-hook to the fully extended handle. 529783

I bought the shock straps because I believed it would be good insurance and they absolutely are. when I tie down my side by side on the trailer (3200lbs) it doesn't move when I get to my destination, like miles of wash board roads and ruts---great job e-trailer can't say enough good things about you guys--the way you explain your products and you've been so good to me on products I've bought. thanks george 551896

Like everyone else I would go through the efforts of strapping down a utv only to see my ratchet straps hanging off the trailer as I look at my review mirror 10 minutes into my trip. Never again! Used these on a 200 mile round trip down all kinds of roads (freeway, country roads, dirt roads, etc) and never had to adjust or tighten them. A must have. 747152

I haven't used my yet but a friend of my let me use his before I bought my. What a good product. I used the shock straps to tie down my utv on a trailer. I had to drive down some rough dirt roads and a logging road to get to our hunting shack. When I went to unload the utv, the straps were still tight and attached to the utv, not like the old ratchet straps I had. A lot of times the straps was unhooked laying in the trailer or they would be missing. Excellent product, I would recommend this product for sure!!!! 590157

These straps are great. The are strong and allow for some movement of the motorcycles without have the straps break or come loose. The Harley was transported to Las Vegas and back, 2500 miles with no issues. 604462

I would not pay extra money for this product again as I'm not sure what the expandable piece really does. I've used it for a motor cycle and afraid if I ratchet too tightly, I might break a part of the cycle. Also, the fixed part of the strap is too long. 673061

These straps work great when trying to strap down any machine that has shocks that cause the machine to bounce on the trailer or truck bed. They keep the load tight and secure. 938337

Love them except the ratcheting mechanisms sometimes won't release and one already had to be replaced under warranty. When they are tighten down to hold my UTV in the trailer it keeps them from coming loose. The previous straps I used sometimes became slack and allowed the UTV to move around in the trailer. The only complaint is when I pull back on the ratcheting mechanism to release the tension on the straps it doesn't release as it should sometimes. 938178
