Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline, and today we'll be taking a look at our Let's Go Aero D-ring tie down anchors here for cargo carriers at etrailer.com. Now, this is a kit designed specifically by Let's Go Aero for their cargo carriers. If you need to tie down cargo like what we have here, we have boxes, we have bags and we wanna use straps, this is a great way to make an easy anchor point. Rather than going around the cargo carrier, you just bring it through the anchors and tighten it down. What you get with this kit are four anchors. So this does not include the bolts, as you see here, as well as the straps, you would have to get those two separately, but you do get these four anchors.
Now, the straps we're using today are the Rightline Gear ratchet straps. You can find them here at etrailer, as well as our other selection of ratchet or cam buckle straps. This actually has really good weight capacity, given how small our anchors are. This has the weight capacity of 800 pounds per ring. Now, if you have it on your cargo carrier, your actual weight will be limited by either your tongue weight or in our case, the weight capacity of our cargo carrier.
But if you have this on, let's say, a trailer bed, or in other situations, whether it's in your garage or other floors, you can use or maximize that 800 pound weight capacity. So these have D-rings and those D-rings swivel up and down for easy anchoring. You can also, as you mount it, have it facing the outside or having facing the inside. I choose the inside just because of how my straps work, but it is up to you. It's also made of a durable powder-coat finish that's gonna help resist corrosion.
Now you'll still have to be mindful of the hardware you use to mount it down, whether that's corrosion resistant or not. Now, the install process is very simple, as long as you have the right hardware, as well as the right tools. So let's take a look at that process so that you can see what I use to mount these anchors. So since this has been designed by Let's Go Aero as anchor points for their cargo carriers, if you do have a Let's Go Aero cargo carrier, just like what we have here, we have the Big Boss, and you can see that already has holes that we're gonna anchor our anchor points to. So we're gonna choose some holes and I'm gonna have my straps go vertically.
So I already have 1, 2, 3 of our anchors already installed, so we'll install this third one together. This does not include the hardware that you're gonna need to anchor your anchors, so I used my own hardware. So I am using a 5/16 bolt. I don't have to get a long bolt 'cause I just need to get through this hole on our cargo carrier. And I have a flat washer as well as a nut. So I'm gonna put my bolt right through the top of our anchor and into that hole. Then I'm gonna use a split washer and then a nut to secure it. Now the size of my hardware that I'm using is gonna use a 9 by 16th socket and a wrench, which I have right here. So once you have it hand tightened down enough where it holds, you're gonna extra tighten it down with these tools. So hold that pin on the bottom and then just tighten down that top bolt. Now do the exact same thing for all four anchors. And once you've checked that everything is secure, you're ready to load up your cargo carrier. So these anchor points aren't just for your cargo carrier. You can also use them in the bed of your trailer if you need some lightweight anchor points. So before we install our anchor, we're gonna first make a hole for our hardware. Now the hardware does not come included with this, so you're gonna have to use your own, and we'll start by making a pilot hole. And once you've made your pilot hole, you can then make your hole for your bolt, so I am using a three by eight inch bolt, and that's gonna be the drill bit that I'm using. The final step is then to get your bolt and bring it through your anchor and then into the hole. So make sure that your bolt is long enough. In our case, since we have a deck, we need to have at least more than two inch long bolt, just get that lined up and then use your drill to secure it. Then to secure it, I have a flat washer as well as a nut, so I'm gonna have a friend just hold our bolt right over here on the top and secure it as I get that nut and that washer mounted underneath. So once you've mounted that anchor point, use the exact same process with all the other tie downs. Just make sure you have them spaced out the way you wanna tie down your cargo and that they're not too close together. So my final thoughts about these D-ring anchors is that they are really a nice and simple accessory to your current cargo carrier. If you don't have a Let's Go Aero cargo carrier, but you still want to use these anchors, that's perfectly fine. I used them in our trailer with no problem. We also have other options for anchors, so if you do have universal situations, but as for something that you can add on in order to strap down your cargo, when you are using a Let's Go Aero cargo carrier, I think it works pretty well. And that was a look here at our Let's Go Aero D-ring tie down anchors here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline, and I hope you enjoy the journey..

Securing cargo is easy and convenient with this set of 4 D-rings. Powder coated steel offers corrosion resistance. D-rings bolt onto the surface of your trailer or cargo carrier. Mounting hardware is not included.for a little more simple quick tie down anchor points.
Heavy weight, simple and straightforward to install. Coating seems thick and durable. Hoping they hold up well for a few years ! TIP: To get the 800lb rating for this product you must through bolt these with appropriate washers or fender washers on the bottom side. IF you lag bolt these down to your wooden trailer deck you are limited to the lag bolt pull out strength for your wood type, which quickly drops off if your wood decking is older and going soft.. Example: Hem/Fir pull out strength for 5/16” lag bolt with 1.25 to 1.5” of three engages is more like 350 to 400 pounds if you wood is in new /very good condition. IF your deck is old, you're better off finding a frame location to bolt to.
Excellent quality and nicely finished in black. I installed these hold downs on the upper rail of a utility trailer. They can also be installed into the wood floor of a trailer as they lay flat when not in use.
I’ve got three crossbars on my kayak trailer. I’ve placed two of these D-Ring Tie Down anchors on each crossbar, one on each side of the loaded kayak. The anchors and a good set of tie-down straps makes the setup bulletproof. These anchors are strong and you can mount them anywhere.
Package was delivered on time and I installed the product ordered. They work well as tie down points on my kayak trailer.

Great, need more!
I got these to give me more anchor points on my utility trailer. I used them to secure my zero turn mower when taking it for service.
Got these for a small trailer that I have that did not have any tie down anchors. Bolted them to the trailer as I had no way to weld them on.
Have used them for anything from furniture, to hauling branches, to getting a used engine to the scrap yard.
Worked great and stayed secure!
I used these to tie down my dirtbike in my F150. Both anchors failed after a few months. Fortunately I didn’t lose my bike.
The D rings are not welded together so they just pulled apart.
These were installed into a purpose built off road vehicle to hold down assorted cargo. The single bolt made it much easier to install in awkward areas. I have yet to have a failure of any of the D-rings and I have retained some fairly heavy cargo with them. the finish is still in very good shape on them too.
These have held up under lots of wear and tear. Would buy again if needed.
This product worked out great for me. Put them in a vice and drilled out slightly to enlargen the whole; then placed them on the bolts tying my pick up bed to the truck body to provide tiedowns for cargo.
what I love about E trailer, they have items, like that style D Rings MMP536, I look every for them, none else have them, thanks E trailer
Had looked at the big box stores. These D-rings were superior to any they had. Mounted these to the bed of my pickup. Had to enlarge the mounting holes, but they are perfect for my needs.
This is an excellent product. I didn’t order enough so I will be ordering more right away. etrailer service is so good I am look forward to placing another order. I am alway amazed at how helpful their people are on the phone and how quickly my order gets to me here in FL. Thanks
good experience all the way round.....including following up to see that I got what I ordered....
I'm using these to replace the side tie downs in my f150, which are not rated for much weight......
Good quality, I use them to tie my kayak to the trailer.
Works great in bed of my pickup. Provide great incremental tie down security
Absolutely nothing negative to say. Thought the price was a bit high, but after receiving the tie downs and seeing the quality of the metal, the strength of the anchor, I am very satisfied with the purchase. About to order 4 more!
Excellent quality product installed on a utility trailer.
Worked ok but you really need a bracket with two bolts to keep it from turning.
They're a little bit bigger than I expected - but work well for my application. They are very loose in their hanger, so be careful where you mount them or they could be like a tambourine jingle going down the road. Kinda spendy, but so are stainless eyebolts!
Perfect fit for the bed on Kawasaki Mule 3000 and stout enough for the purpose.
Solid product (beefy) , just what I need for hooks on the sides of my truck bed.
Great Delivery time.
Ver impressed! Thanks .
