Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Now, of course we have all kinds of cargo management systems that are available for trailers, vehicles, your house, whatever your case may be. Today we're taking a look at one that I kind of like. I think this is a nice set up. Basically it's from Erickson. It gives us two points of E-track contact or two connection points for any E-track accessory.

It kind of incorporates everything I like about E-track. You see we've got the edges here that allows us to slide up and over. Got our connection point here. Just uses some self tapping screws to secure it. Now, not only can this be used on trailer floors and sides, but we can use this in a lot of other situations, too.These can be used in our garages or in our houses for just getting some shelves, but we can use these on docks.

We can use these just about anywhere we need a connection point. Basically with an E-track like this, you can see we've got this trailer pretty much loaded out with it and it serves our purpose extremely well. We have connection rings like this, lashing ring. We have wheel chocks, we have shelf brackets, we have brackets that you can put two by lumber across side the side. So basically, anything that works with an E-track system is going to work with this.What makes this one a little bit different, it's kind of all in one.

With normal E-track, to get a smooth edge like this, you'll have to buy the additional cap, put that on and install it. I also like the matte finish on this. I think this is going to look really good in a lot of the trailers if looks are something that you're concerned with, and it has that powder coat finish on it. Generally with this type of connection point, they're all going to be a silver or something along those lines, a bright metallic or a silver. So, I think these can really blend in or stand out depending on your situation.Basically, this is going to give us a ton of versatility that we really don't get with a lot of other non E-track style of tie-downs like our loops there on the floor or some of the D-rings that we can install.

It's pretty much what you have, so you have to be sure you're getting the right thing in the right situation. With this we can switch it out with any manner of the E-track accessory and really have something that's extremely versatile and very, very usable. On the short side here, side to side, we're looking at about five and one eighth of an inch. From the outside here to here, it's going to be about six and three eights. And it looks like coming up from the floor, it's going to stick up about a half of an inch without the fasteners.Now, as far as the installation goes, it's going to be pretty straightforward. We're going to be using number 14 self tapping screws. You could also use hex bolts if you wanted to. The hole diameters here are five sixteenths of an inch, so good range of hardware that you can use, but the important thing is to pick out the right spot where you want it to be so you don't get it there and then have to move it again. We're just going to be placing ours here. Then once we have our fasteners in, we're ready to grab our favorite E-track accessory there. Get it slid in and it'll be ready to attach to.Here you can see using that as our connection point does a great job. Helps us get our generators tucked away in here, get it anywhere we need it to go. Of course, with an 800 pound safe working load limit, you'll want to choose enough of these tie downs and make sure you're choosing the accessories you're using that have enough capacity for whatever it is you plan on securing.
