These surface-mounted D-rings are recessed so you can easily roll or slide your cargo over them, and they reduce tripping hazard. Create attachment points for ropes, straps or bungee cords to secure push mowers, tillers, and other lightweight cargo.

Specs:
Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Now, we're always looking for nice, convenient and quick, easy ways to get cargo secured. Today we're going to be taking a look at a D-ring with plate here. Now, I like this idea and I like this style. Basically, we've got a nice D-ring here we can connect our strap to, and when not in use, it lays right down in here. So as we're trying to load and unload, you can see we're going to have an area that'll kind of help guide any of the items up and over rather than some of the other D-ring types where this is left stuck up in the air where you might snag or hang on.Now, I can see these being used in a lot of different situations.
Of course trailers and our enclosed trailer like this or on a utility trailer, they'd be an excellent solution for some of your lighter duty tie down options. They do come as a four-pack, so it gives us total holding strength of 1,600 pounds at 400 each. So, even UTVs and stuff like that. This'll be a good option for that. I also could see these being used in garages, hanging them up on the wall so you have something to conveniently hook things to or in the bed of trucks, or our new ...
kind of the sprinter vans and the cargo vans that are out there now. This would provide you a lot of good attachment points. You could even put them on the walls in the sprinter van to be able to keep things up and out of the way.All in all, they're nice, easy and quick to install. Just need a couple of bolts to get them put in place. They use quarter inch hardware, so you can use quarter inch hex bolts, quarter inch type self tapping screws, just depending on what you're going into.
All in all, it's going to provide a good solution in a lot of areas. The finish quality is also pretty good. It has a clear nickel finish on it, so even if we are going to use these outside, I don't think rust or corrosion is going to be a big issue for a long time to come. Now, to give you a few dimensions to make sure this is going to work for your application, from side to side on our base, we're looking at about four and one eighth of an inch. We have quarter inch mounting holes that are an inch and a quarter apart, so from center to center, an inch and a quarter. We've got an inch and a half between the inside here, and from the base to the top here, we've got about an inch and a quarter.
And this is a quarter inch diameter circle here, so you just want to ensure you've got that kind of space, but there's not too many straps I can think of, bungees or any tie down really that won't fit around that. Now of course, when installing your tie down, you want to choose the correct location, make sure you get them in the right spot. We're going to be using ours in conjunction with our E-track here, and this is going to help us strap down a generator we'd like to carry with us. Just going to place that down, get it squared up with where you want it to go. And we're going to use a couple of 5/16ths inch self tappers here. We should be in good shape. Now, you just install the other ones where you want those and you'll be ready to start strapping stuff down. Now, when we connect to our tie down points, since it is such a nice large open D-ring, you can use just about any type of strap you wanted, even the heavy duty straps with the double hooks. I mean, that's going to be overkill with a 400 pound safe working load limit, but it is possible. But with our etrailer straps here, just click that in. We can pull our slack out and you can see it does a great job. It's going to keep our generator secure, our straps nice and tight, and I wouldn't have a worry in the world heading down the road just like this.
Perfect tie downs on my utility trailer bed
I added these to the storage area of my rv and now nothing slides around. I highly recommend this product.
Got these tie downs for my enclosed trail mainly to help hold down ice fishing gear in winter. Work great for that and come in handy year round
Looks like it will work for me and tieing things down on my trailer

These cargo holds are excellent. They’re flat enough that cargo glides over them especially with the recessed d-ring.
