Video Transcript for Review of CargoSmart Tie Down Anchors - Trailer Tie-Down Anchors - Truck Tie-Down Anchors - 348816

Today, we're going to take a look at the CargoSmart bolt on removable D-ring tie down anchor with a 1,333 pound working load limit. Now this is a light duty D-ring, which provides a nice solid attachment point for ropes, straps, or bungees. This'll let you anchor push mowers, tillers, and other lightweight cargo on your truck bed, utility trailer, or enclosed cargo trailer. Basically this ring will rotate 360 degrees and it'll swivel 180 degrees so that you can attach a rope, strap, or bungee from multiple angles. It is a removable design. You can just simply unscrew to remove the D-ring from the shank.

It is a steel construction, has a clear zinc plating. It's very strong and corrosion resistant and it is a bolt on installation to most flat solid surfaces.Just wanting to show you here. We'll get this unscrewed. Once you unscrew the D-ring from it, then you have this shank here. Basically you just drill a half inch hole, insert the shank, secure the shank with the washer and the nut right here, and then you just take your D-ring and screw it right into the shank just like that.A few dimensions I want to give you.

We'll start with the D-ring itself. The thickness on the D-ring is a half an inch. Overall width from one end to the other end, outside to outside, it's going to be right at 3 and 3/8 inches. The inner dimensions on the inside width wise is right at 2 and 3/8 inches wide. The height of the inside is going to be right about 2 and 3/4 inches tall.

Now the shank itself, overall length of that from the top to the very bottom, it's right at 4 and 1/2 inches. Measure just the threaded portion from the bottom of here to the end is right about 3 and 7/8 inches, and then the diameter of it is right at 7/8 of an inch.Maximum load again, or the break strength is 4,000 pounds. The safe working load limit we mentioned is 1,333 pounds. One note on this, the tie down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit, so the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the anchors being used. For example, if you're going to use an anchor with a working load limit of a hundred pounds each to tie down a load weighing 400 pounds, then you need to use at least four anchors to secure that load, and it is always recommended that you use anchors in pairs.

You can see this one, you just twist it all the way down in and tighten up and you're all ready to go. But that should do it for the review on the CargoSmart bolt on removable D-ring tie-down anchor with the 1,333 pound working load limit.
