Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at Buyers Products Cast Aluminum Chain Loop. These can be added on your trailer to give you a connection point or a tie down point for your chains. Maybe you have straps or something you want to tie down. Keep in mind they're only going to have an 800 pound pull weight. These are not designed to to be used while you're lifting.
It's going to be a cast aluminum, as I mentioned, and you see it's got a shiny finish on it. The hardware we replaced it on, on a horse trailer, the old one was broke. We used the same existing hardware. See it lines up perfectly. It's going to have a two and an eighth-inch opening by an inch and three quarters, so it gives you plenty of room for larger size hooks.If you take a look down here at our old one, you can see how the casting is kind of wore out, but with our new one it gives you a nice clean, shiny look.
Now as far as the installation on these, it's very simple. You can see it's got two bolts that hold it in place. Again, we are replacing a broken one. We just re-installed the existing or the old hardware back into it because there was nothing wrong with it. If you're installing this on a different trailer, maybe your new install, I will say, make sure you're using nut and bolt because you want that solid attachment.
You want to make sure you're not using screws or self-tapping screws when you're going into a metal siding. With all that being said, that's going to do it for a look at Buyers Products 1/2" Chain Loop..

A friend had been looking for these to add to a trailer so he could tie his show oxen outside of the trailer. My husband searched the internet and luckily came upon etrailer.com. Not only did this company have exactly what we needed, they were a total pleasure to do business with. We were kept informed every step of the way and our order actually shipped out the next day. We appreciate the great service provided by this company and can recommend them without reservation.
Put them on a older stock trailer we bought that had no tie downs and have been using them ever since. Had a few pull backs from the horses and they wore well.
Solid tie downs easy to install.
Good quality anchors. Exactly what's needed for my aluminum trailer.
I do not recommend this product. It got bent after only few times of usage and gets rusty easily for some reason, despite the fact that was used in my garage, where nothing else gets rusty. Poorly finished product.

These "chain loops" are great. They are what was installed on my Exiss horse trailer and work wonderful for horse tie downs. very heavy duty but lite weight. Now using them in my barn too.

The tie down ring is constructed of cast aluminum, which is why it feels so light. The ring actually has an 800 lb working load limit.
Is what I was looking for.

I dont think they will be sturdy enough for the horse trailer
