Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Buyers Products stake pocket for your flatbed truck or trailer. This is a very heavy duty bracket that's going to create one stake pocket for your flatbed, so you can build up those sidewalls to help control and contain all of your cargo. It does have a tapered design, so here at the top, it's right about three inches wide, and then down at the bottom, it's closer to two and seven eighths, just shy of three inches. It does taper down a little bit to give you that nice snug fit for any of your stakes in the stake pocket. This is going to work with most of your two by fours.
Obviously it's a little bit smaller than your standard two by four, which is about three and a half inches in reality, but you can easily cut that two by four down to fit inside there and have that nice secure fit. This is constructed of a 14 gauge carbon steel, so it's going to be very strong and durable. You're not going to have to worry about it breaking down on you. It does have a zinc plating on it to help resist any rust and corrosion, so it should last a long time there as well. It can be painted if you're wanting to match the color of your truck or your trailer. Make sure that it's all going to be a cohesive look to it.Our overall dimensions.
From the side to side here, our total length is right about six and a half inches. Our height, we're looking at right about two and a half inches tall. The camera's given it a little bit more than it actually is, but it's right at about two and a half inches. Our depth, we're looking at about an inch and a half. Then because this is 14 gauge carbon steel, it is going to be five 64ths of an inch thick. You can see we do have the pre-drilled square holes here to give us the mounting points.
It does not come with any hardware, so you will need to provide your carriage bolts for yourself. These mounting holes are spaced out from center to center. It's right about five and a half inches across. From our bottom up to our top, it's about an inch and a half. You can see on the front, it does have the top stamped in there to help make sure that you get the orientation right because it is a little bit wider at the top than at the bottom.
You want to make sure that that is in the correct orientation. This is made here in the USA, so you can trust that it's made with the same quality that we've come to know and expect here in the US. I really think this is going to be a great option for you if you're wanting to add a stake pocket to your flatbed truck or trailer. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

Carbon steel construction is heavy-duty.Solid, thick brackets are a welcome replacement to the rusted Oriental sheet metal they are replacing. Installation note - To prevent metal-to-metal interaction, use double-faced body moulding tape. It also helps installation as they can be held in place while drilling mounting screws. The square cut is designed for carriage bolts. I used #10 self drilling stainless screws and stainless fender washers. Hopefully that will keep the rust in abeyance here in Chicago!
Amazing that no one local carries these here in Raleigh NC. I spent almost a week trying to find vertical stake brackets for my utility trailer. I found etrailer on line, called & 10 minutes later the order for 8 was complete. When I hung up I had an alert, checked it out & IT WAS MY ORDER CONFIRMATION! 3 hours later another communication informing me my order was ready to be shipped! A 3rd communication gave me a direct link stating the location of my shipment & the delivery date. You people are absolutely amazing!! I'm 71 & this is the kind of CUSTOMER CARE that was very prominent back in the old days of 80's-90's. Please consider opening a branch here in Raleigh! I guarantee you will dominate the market!! Thanks again for a seamless & painless purchasing experience!!

A year later they look the same as the day I did the install - no corrosion, no rust.
