Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be checking out this stake pocket D ring attachment point from Brophy. It's going to go right here in our stake pocket on our trailer. And with this pin in place, it's going to give us an attachment point to tie down whatever cargo we're hauling. Today I got my vehicle pulled up there, so we're going to need something to attach the ratchet strap to. And this is where it's going to come in handy.
With that in there, it's not going to go anywhere. And we have an attachment point to get things tied down. Let's check it out. Something I want to point out right away though, is that this is a little bit longer of a stake pocket tie down. So what I mean by that is you can come down here to the base right under this plate into the center of the pin here.
It's going to be seven and a quarter inches long. So, you might want to look at some other sizes if that doesn't match up to your pocket. You can see there is quite a bit of extra room, so when I do go to tie down and tighten up this ratchet strap, I'll probably want to lift it up here, just so that way it doesn't shift on me when we're moving. You don't want to move down like I've started here. You've got a ratchet.
It would pull it up and any time you'd hit something it could do that. So, if you pull it up here, when you go to ratchet it, it it'll stay here and stay in place. You can still use it, it'll still be just as functional. Just wanted to give you that heads up if it's too long for your stake pocket. One of the nice things about having the stake pocket tie down, though, is you can move it wherever you need it.
So, if you only buy four, like we have, that's two on each side, they're not stuck to where you mount them. So if you we're to permanently mounted some D-rings, of course you drill holes, put them here on your trailer. You'd never be able to move that, which is fine, I guess. But if you have different loads that you're always carrying on your flatbed, you're gonna have to move this around and have different tie-down points. This allows you to just drop it wherever you want it to go or wherever you need it to be. So it's just that easy to drop that in the pocket, add that pin, and you have a tie down point. Looking closer at the D ring, it can go either way here. It moves very adjustable. And that's good for if you have something tied low, like we do. We have our axle strap over there. So it's going to stay low and kind just, we'll hook this. It's going to just pull it to the side like that. It's maneuverable, but that's fine. Now, if you had a load on your trailer, you run the stops over top. And if you're more pulling up here, that'd be fine, too. This moves all the way here to here. So it's got plenty of movement there. So it's going to be wherever you need to be when you need to tie something down. The overall construction is going to be a black powder coat steel. So, it will hold up. But as you can see, we've dropped it in these different pockets. And some of the welds are a little bit off. It's already getting scratched up, but that's not a knock on this one. That's just going to happen when you're using these stake pocket things. As you drop them in there or move it or tighten things down, it's just going to get scratched up. Now your stake pocket tie downs are going to have a safe working load limit of 4,000 pounds. And then it's going to have a brake strength of 12,000 pounds. So just keep that in mind when you're using them. And we're gonna use them in combination, so make sure you, if you have four of them you're using, you combine those all together to the safe working load limit and get your actual safe working load limit. Something to be cautious of, though, is if your ratchet straps have a lower rating than the tie down points, definitely go with the ratchet straps. Something else to note is that the shackle itself is going to be a half an inch in diameter. So that's this portion here. Just wanted to point that out so that you look at your ratchet straps and the space in your hooks, just to make sure that's enough for it to go around and snap into place. Overall, though, they're going to do a great job to help you tie down whatever you want to load up on your trailer. Again, I like that they aren't permanent in their spots. I can move them to any of these sections where there's stake pockets to tie down, whatever I decide to carry all on my trailer. Whether it's your vehicle, or if there's a flat load that I need to run the straps over top, there's going to be a spot for all those pockets all on both sides of the trailers. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..

Black powder coated anchor slides into a 2x4 stake pocket on your flatbed truck or trailer. Movable anchor secures with the included pin and clip so you can quickly and easily remove and reinstall it as needed. 12,000-lb Maximum load.Way too long for any stake pocket I've ever seen, I'm planning on just cutting and drilling them to fit my trailer. I wish they had come with multiple holes along the length so you could fit it to your specific application, rather than just one hole way at the bottom where it can slide around. If heavily loaded a stretched way up, I feel like a heavy load would probably bend it. Luckily my straps on my first run with them were low enough to friction lock them down low.
Ordered the wrong stake pocket tie downs. I called and spoke to William. He immediately sent me a return label and helped me order the correct tie downs. Received the exact day he said I would. Great customer service!
These tie downs fit perfect on my tilt trailer. Very heavy duty and look good. I shouldn’t have any problems with anything I haul using these.
Very useful for adding tie down points. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was the need to cut off the extra length and drill new holes farther up for the pins so the units fit better.
Great way to add attachment points for securing cargo. Only negative is the extra length of the shank and the hole located at the bottom. I will modify this set as I did to my 1st set by drilling a new hole and cutting of the extra shank length.
Looking for a stake pocket anchor for aluminum Featherlight car hauler. Pockets are exactly 1-1/2” X 3-1/2”. Anchors are not 1-1/2”. Had to trim the anchors, but after looking at the description, this dimension wasn’t shown, only the 3-1/2” dimension. Very pleased with the anchor. the only anchor I could find to fit my trailer. May even cut the length and re drill anchor holes. Very pleased with quality, other than having to trim the legs of the channel. But all trailers are different. Would buy again and recommend for the Featherlight car hauler. Just a little tweaking to make it perfect. ( but that what we all do)!
Will be very useful for my 12ft utility trailer. Only 4 stars since the shank is much longer than the stake pocket. I intend to drill holes farther up the shank and cut off the excess length.
Excellent product! Very well made and s tout
Item exactly as described. Good purcha se.
