Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Brophy bolt-on surface mount rope D-ring tie down anchor. Has a 1500 pound maximum load capacity. Now, this is a sturdy D-ring, which provides a solid attachment point for tie down straps and bungee cords wherever you need cargo control. It is a surface mount design, there's no need to cut a hole in your trailer or truck bed, and it is a simple bolt on installation.
Now, the mounting bolts are not included. The D-ring does rotate 180 degrees, so you can attach straps from multiple angles. It is a nice sink plated steel construction, resists rust and corrosion, and they do offer an optional backing plate which we sell separately on our website. This will provide additional strength when mounting to thin steel or wood, and that's listed on this product page as a related product. It's part number BP12.
A few specs on this. The maximum load or break strength is 1500 pounds. The safe working load limit is 500 pounds.Give you a few measurements on this. It's going to be right at about five inches by three and three quarter inches. The overall height when it's mounted is only about a half inch tall.
The ring diameter is a quarter inch ring and the opening on the ring, if we go across, is going to be about one and a half inches wide. The height at the opening of the ring is one inch tall. Now, one note on this, the tie down anchors like this must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the anchors being used. So, just to give you an example, if you're using anchors with a working load limit of 100 pounds each to tie down a load going 400 pounds, then you're going to need at least four anchors to safely secured at load.
And it is also recommended that you always use anchors in pairs, but that should do it for the review on the Brophy bolt-on surface mount rope D-ring tie down anchor, with the 1500 pound maximum load capacity.
