Hello etrailer staff!
My tailgate arrived in a timely fashion but the journey was hard on the box and packing inside the box. UPS beat up on the box to the point of some of the contents are still in a truck or warehouse. I called etrailer and spoke with Noah. He assured me that he would get the missing parts in the mail and I would have all I needed to mount my tailgate.
Noah was good to his word. Parts arrived today and the tailgate is mounted.
The tailgate should be fine.
Thank you Noah and all etrailer Staff. You did a fine job for me and my old 2001 Duramax Chevy.

If I had it to do again I would have purchased a sturdier tail gate. I don’t like the fact that it’s only rated for 100 pounds which limits what I can put in my truck as well as using it safely as a step.It’s ok if you don’t haul anything. Currently looking for a replacement.

Good instructions on how it install. Took me about 20 minutes or so to install. Lock looks good and seems to work well. I can now hook up my 5th wheel without worrying about putting the tailgate down.

I come from 25 years of vice president of product development and management and cost related products, for a large manufacturing company that provides vacuum form that products to all manufactures of automobiles, Throughout the world Germany and Japan. We provide various different components, all of these components are tested for fitment, ease of application, and cost related to the manufactured product. For the price that I paid for this company, $xxx plus, I have digitize the product, and send the same in PDF an image and CAD to my manufacturing facility in Germany. This will Provide me with manufacturing cost which would include shipping to the United States, with this being said, for the United States this product should yield a manufactures cost to the general public, I have $xxx. We love our new tailgate!!! It is very sturdy. Now we can carry things in the bed of our truck, while hauling our 5th wheel, without the worry of them falling out! It was very affordable, compared to other sites we visited. It arrived in a timely manner & the customer service with follow up is great!

2006 GMC Sierra
I ordered a new Stromberg 5th wheel tailgate. It was shipped in a used box that had been used before. The tailgate was not damaged but it displayed poor design and poor quality. Stromberg products use to be well know for quality. This showed no sign of quality. The latches did not have any rubber bumpers for a tight fit. It fits the truck, but sits loose and the cables do not have latches on the ends the are just looped instead. Poor quality and design. I wish I would have checked out to other tailgates.

Just received, looks great. Don't have the truck here so cannot install but presume it will fit well. Received it promptly, impressed with the process. Will shop etrailer again when we need something that they handle.

Product arrived sooner than expected. Fits perfectly and it was extremely simple to install.
Tailgate is for 2005 Chevrolet Silverado HD - adds a professional quality appearance. Previous tailgate stolen due to unavailable locking mechanism. Current one, with lock, answers my requirements when pulling 30 ft. 5th wheel RV.

My only complaint is that the locking system doesn’t work properly. The locking cylinder turns when trying to use the key to unlock the tailgate which causes me to have to hold the locking device on the side of the tailgate.

The tailgate fits perfectly. Very easy to remove and reinstall when needed. The locking mechanism is strong.
By not needing to lower the tailgate when connecting to the 5th wheel has relieved a ‘ stress “ level. Thank you.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado
Very easy installation. Instructions should include how to remove existing tailgate but I found easy instructions on line. I had a couple of small dents on the original tailgate from my 5th wheel which was a $1200.00 estimate for a new tailgate. This was a much better and less expensive idea.
I have already recommended it to a 5th wheel friend.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado
To me this is a chincy tail gate. It will only hold 100 lbs. I can't even sit on it. The hard ware was worthless. I ended up having to provide my own. I couldn't get the bottom screws in as there was no room to do so, so I had to bend out the tabs to fit, then it made the plastic fit all funny. Once I finally got it together I latched it. It has a ton of movement. There is no way to adjust it. It slaps back and forth over an inch. I am insanely disappointed in this tail gate. I don't understand how this has such raving reviews. I am very glad e-trailer is so good to work with. All I have to do is pay shipping to return it. They waved the restocking fee.

This tailgate is wonderful. My husband said it was easy to install and lined up perfectly. My husband was especially impressed that it has a key lock. We are 100% satisfied not only with the product but the company we purchased it from etrailer....Good to deal with and very prompt delivery service...give them a try you won't be disappointed

Installed easily. Notice a difference on freeway, less resistance , haven't towed yet but happy so far. would recommend to friends to purchase . I missed where it said product was plastic but instructions clearly say do not place excessive weight on new tailgate. Only negative is the where the straps that hold up tailgate can slip off easily from existing bolts to truck . I haven't researched whats available to make a better connection but nothing was provided in box. Shipping was fast & prompt. Product came in good condition.

Arrived in good time and in good condition. Pre video was very helpful. Unit fit and locked without any extra adjustment. Total installation, including removing existing tailgate took approximately 30 minutes. I'd recommend this product.
I'm curious as to why you don't sell a total steel framed plastic coated tailgate for added strength ?

I am disappointed in the weight bearing of the Tailgate !
In the description it says that it handles the same weight as the stock tailgate.
When delivered and installed it says max weight 100 pounds.
I use my truck to pick up hay for my horses and I need to walk on the tailgate.
Otherwise it is well made and fit and finish is very good just wish it pointed out the 100 pound weight limit.
