Install was timely, but function is perfect. Good way to retain the stock look and add some secerity.

i was amazed when i ordered how fast it shipped i installed it was not that hard with the instructional video they have on the site and solved my problem of having to lock my tailgate exactly what i was looking for thank you very much
product was good, instructions weren't that great for my truck..
works great. only took 20 min. to install lock but 1 hour to run the wires. and hook them up. I was showing all my friends. they all want one now. I hooked it up to my door locks , but I am going to install it's own switch when the weather gets a little better.

This trailer lock is a high quality devise. The instructions and hardware are above average.
The only problem I had was that the holes were in the wrong location.
Tech support was very responsive and helpful, but the holes were still out of place. Fortunately I was able to drill new ones and install the lock satisfactorily.
Have not installed the locking device as of yet, however I am sure it will not be a mechanical problem because of the outstanding installation video available from ETRAILER! Every product I have purchased from them, has been of top quality and the tech support is bar none. Thank you ETRAILER.
simple installation just need to know the wiring to your vehicle to tie it in properly but after one year of having the lock it still works first time every time and it's hidden so people don't know your tailgate has a lock I transport motorcycles allot and it prevents people from opening my tailgate and stealing my bikes
This lock is awesome. Makes you feel a little more secure to leave items in the bed of your truck with a bed cover. Installation was a little tricky manipulating the lock and handle. Nothing over the top. Just have little patience. The directions are very well spelled out. Follow the installation directions and you will be fine.
I had an issue with my original power lock. BUT etrailer was great to get it exchanged under warranty. I would have given 5 stars but I was required to take out all the wiring in order to get a warranty replacement. It would have been nice to just unlock from the attachment of the lock to the wiring that comes from the door. But the new one works great.
I really like the Pop a Lock unit. It didn't take long to install and worked really good at first but then it got so it wasn't unlocking as it should. I contacted etrailer and they said I could return it under warranty, but being I had to get into the tailgate to remove it, it thought I would try some things before removing the unit. I found the solenoid that pulls the latch back to unlock the handle was drifting back after unlocking which allowed the handle to not be operated. I first thought I might just saw off about 1/8" but first I thought I would lubricant it and re-adjust the unit as much as I could. So far I have not had any other issues with the unit. I had also heard of the unit failing in other reviews, so as a backup plan I made a loop in a piece of Weedeater string and fished it out to the side of the tailgate through a hole already at the bottom. It is hidden, but I can pull on the string and it will pull the latch on the unit to unlock it.
Purchased this for my 2006 Chevrolet 2500HD truck.
I consider myself to be a "jack of all trades, master of none!" I also read all instructions and watch videos, if available, before installation
After several hours, I was able to get the unit hooked up...enclosed instructions were just okay. Had issues installing the unit in the tailgate, it's not as easy as it shows in the etrailer video. Getting the handle and unit lined up and the screws in the correct hole was the hardest issue for me. Everything else went well except the wiring hookup described in the instructions were reverse for my truck.
With that said, the unit works great and I would purchase again.
