Raw Lumens vs. Effective Lumens vs Stable Lumens
Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 600 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 199 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 75 lumens.

This is what they looked like before. And this is what it looks like after. It's definitely a lot brighter and it is definitely an upgrade from some of the other ones. So today we're gonna be taking a look at the ARC LED taillight bulbs. The nice thing about upgrading to LEDs is they're going to last a lot longer than some of the incandescent bulbs. And they're actually gonna draw a little bit less.
So this one is a red bulb, so it's perfect for your taillights. And it's gonna have a temperature of 1000 K, but that just means what color it is. So this is red, and it really is a little bit brighter than the white bulbs that we're in there before. Just because over time, when cars get a little bit older, everything starts to kinda fade away. It starts to turn a little like orangeish.
So with this, you can kinda compensate for your older vehicle taillights by getting those red LEDs on the inside. The nice thing about the LEDs on the inside is they're gonna have 360 degrees. So what that means is we're gonna have some diodes on the front. We're gonna have diodes all the way around the whole entire outside. So about 23 diodes is gonna give us about 600 raw lumens.
So these are definitely a lot brighter than the ones that I had before. These are gonna draw about 6.5 watts and about 0.65 amps. So it is gonna be a little bit more efficient than the incandescent bulbs, which I just liked that. If you replace every single bulb on your vehicle with LEDs, your electrical system's gonna be under a lot more, a lot less load than before. And with these, they're also brighter.
So less load for more performance. It kinda just seems like a no-brainer. These are gonna come in a pack of two. So for me, all I had to do is grab one pack to get both my right and left taillight on there. So just make sure you grab as many as you need, and also make sure you put your vehicle in our fit guide. And that's just gonna let our website do the work for you. So everything you see is gonna fit your vehicle. Just to show you what I'm replacing it with, this is the old, old bulb, and these are the new ones. One, they look cooler, but two, we are gonna have different types of colors. So what I'm gonna do since we have a taillight, we have our reverse lights and our blinkers. So I'm gonna put the white ones in my reverse lights. And we actually have an amber set as well. The same exact thing, that's gonna go up top. So we might as well do all three of them because why not And that's about it for a look at the ARC LED taillight bulbs..

I bought these to upgrade my rear tailights/turnsignals to LED. They are a direct replacement meaning they fit into the socket properly. However, there isn't enough load in these bulbs to have the turn signals work properly. Apparently, another electrical part must be needed for these bulbs to flash properly as turn signals. Keeping the bulbs since it's not cost effective to return.

The led lights are still working. The problematic fuse in the car has not blown so switching from incandescent to led has been worth the cost.

The last bulbs converted to LED. The stove light is so handy in my trailer but it was more wattage than i wanted to burn. These bulbs are brighter, longer life and importantly, less wattage.

I wanted to replace the old bulbs in my trailer but everywhere I looked they were going to cost me $xx or more per pair. I found etrailer while looking on line for trailer parts and was very surprised how affordable the bulbs were. I ordered all the bulbs in the trailer for less than half the cost I was expecting. They arrived yesterday and I put them in. Wow, what a difference. Way better light output, much less battery power being used. All for a fraction of the cost. And the quality of the bulbs was all I had hoped it would be. I was talking to one of my neighbors about your web site and it turns out he has been an etrailer.com customer for a while. This LED replacement completely changed the lighting in my RV for the better. I put them in the main living area and work area and you no longer feel like you are living by flashlight. The only drawback to the replacement bulb is it is slightly wider than glass bulbs and it takes significantly more pressure to insert them. However, they will go in without breaking the fixture. The picture shows the clear difference with both type bulbs in a single fixture.

- Will the 3156/3157 LED Tail Light Bulbs Work As Both Brake and TaillightsThe 3156/3157 LED Tail Light Bulbs part # ARC23FR can be used as a brake, turn, or running light. The exact function it has will vary by vehicle and how the circuit is wired. I don't have any wiring schematics unfortunately for any one particular make/model. That said, I do not believe the brake and running light circuits are on the same bulb for this vehicle.

While you can install a white LED in a taillight with a red lens, the color will look a lot more washed out than if you use a red LED. For a red LED that replaces the 3156/3157 bulbs, I recommend the # ARC23FR. For white, I recommend the # ARC73FR.

I have gotten in contact with the manufacturer and they have confirmed that the issue is called hyper flashing and is common among LED bulbs due to the resistance values being much lower. You can compensate for this with an inline resistor, like part # ARC22VR, with adds the necessary “load” to resolve this issue.
