Video Transcript for Review of M-3 and Associates Trailer Ramp Springs - Single Ramp Spring - M366FR

Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this ramp spring rated at 2,000 pounds of torque for 1-1/2-inch shaft on the right-hand side. So it's very important, this is a right-hand spring. As you can see, it has a green paint on it, that indicates the right hand, and that's the orientation that you should be looking at from your angle. So when this is installed on the right-hand side of either ramp, on your ramp spring set, this will be the right-hand side. So, throwing up a picture here of both springs.

On that photo, this is the left ramp on that trailer, but yet the right-hand spring would go on the right-hand side there. So keep in mind the orientation of this spring we're looking at and those images to make sure you're ordering the correct one. So if you don't order the correct one, unfortunately, it's not going to open or close the way you need it to. So be safe. These are under immense pressure once you get them installed, as you probably already know, but I always like to point it out.

So these are going to provide approximately 90 degrees of deflection. And they are coiled up, as you can see. The width of this coil is 2-1/2 inches, and the length overall is 3-3/4 inches. The overall length tip to tip is about 10 inches. And the inner diameter of this coil, it's going to fit a 1-1/2-inch shaft.

Now, the bars need to be mounted flat to the surface on which they're being used. So make sure, again, you're looking at the orientation and you're getting these installed correctly. Now, this, again, is the right hand assembly, if you need the left hand, we carry that here separately as well. Well, folks, I think that's going to wrap it up for our quick look together. I'm Steven, as always, please, we'd love to hear your feedback on the products here at etrailer.com.

Send us photos, videos, feedback, good or bad, whatever you personally think about the product, let us know. Have a good one.

  • Looking For 10" Long Trailer Ramp Springs For 1-1/2" Shaft
Hey Jack, thanks for reaching out. What I recommend for you are the Ramp Springs # M376FR for left hand and # M366FR for right hand side. These are 2K rated springs designed for a 1-1/2" shaft. They are 10" long overall.

  • Is There A Trailer Ramp Spring Available With Longer Ears?
The Ramp Spring # M366FR for right hand and # M376FR for left hand are the only ramp springs of this type that we offer. Each ear is about 3-3/4" long when measured from coil to tip, or 5-1/4" when measured from the center of the coil to the tip. Each Spring has 6 full coils and 2 partial end coils that terminate at the spring ends. Unfortunately, we do not offer anything with longer ears.

  • Availability Of Ramp Spring For 2-3/4" Or 3" Shaft
Hey Chris, so I am afraid we do not carry a spring that will work for your trailer. We do have the # M366FR and # M376FR torsion springs that are made for a 1-1/2" shaft. Right now, this is the only size we offer, so nothing for a 2-3/4" or 3" shaft. I know there are other sizes out there so my suggestion would be to try a trailer manufacturer or find a place that specializes in ramp doors/springs.

  • What Shaft Does Trailer Ramp Spring part # M366FR Fit Onto
Hey Jerry, we don't sell the 1-1/2 inch diameter shafts that the Ramp Spring part # M366FR fits onto. That's usually found on the trailer already. Are you fabbing something up on your trailer?
