Specs:
This winch lets you raise and lower the snowplow blade on your ATV or UTV. The compact design makes it easy to mount in tight spaces, and it installs on the front frame of your ATV or UTV with a custom mounting plate (sold separately). It includes quick connects that make it easy to connect and disconnect power to the winch. And it has a hand-held rocker switch that allows you to power the polyester strap in and out from the seat of your ATV.
This winch features a 0.68-horsepower, 12-volt DC motor with 2,000 lbs of line pull. The permanent magnet motor has the same pull as a series-wound motor but is lighter and uses less current. It also has more windings around the core to generate more electromagnetic power than a standard permanent magnet motor. These additional windings and the 200-amp contactor - compared with the 60/80-amp relay switch found on most snowplow winches - enable you to continuously run the motor without the fear of it overheating.
The motor and gearbox are housed in the same side-mounted unit. The unit has built-in drain holes to release condensation generated by motor heat to prevent internal moisture build-up, and it has a rust-resistant black powder coat finish. The copper battery terminals and zinc-plated steel hardware are also corrosion resistant.
The power unit transmits power from your ATV or UTV battery to the winch motor. There is an on/off switch on the front of the unit that lets you shut off the power to prevent accidental use. It has a rubber-sealed plug that won't let in water when the mini rocker switch is disconnected.
The contactor - or solenoid - transmits power from the vehicle's battery to the winch motor. The 200-amp contactor - located inside the power unit - is sealed to meet IP67 specifications for water and weather resistance. The copper terminals and zinc-plated hardware are corrosion resistant.
The dynamic brake uses resistance from the winch motor to control drum rotation. When the winch is pulling in or paying out the strap there is no resistance on the drum. When the power is stopped the drum does not rotate.
Since there is no physical brake device the winch is lighter and has a smaller profile than a winch with a mechanical braking system. This makes it easier to mount in places with limited space available.
The hand-held mini rocker switch lets you control the winch from the seat of your ATV or UTV. It plugs into the sealed port on the power unit and unplugs for storage when not in use.
The 30" strap is made of high-strength nylon that is abrasion resistant, and it wraps around a solid steel drum. It is designed to easily lift a snowplow blade that weighs up to 600 lbs. And it's built to handle the constant spooling and unspooling required for a snowplow winch - unlike a wire rope that can fray or synthetic rope that can break.
The winch is constructed of strong, durable materials that are designed to perform in cold, snowy weather. The motor and gearbox housing is made of corrosion-resistant powder coated steel, and the contactor is sealed to keep out water. The power unit is constructed of heavy-duty yet lightweight plastic. The steel tie bars and side frame drum supports help to create a strong and rigid winch body.
To install the winch on the front of your ATV or UTV you will need a suitable mounting location. Bolt or weld a custom mounting plate (sold separately) to the front frame on your ATV or UTV, then bolt the winch to the mounting plate using the included hardware.
The power unit includes a mounting plate and hardware for installation. Although the power unit can be mounted anywhere on your ATV or UTV, it typically mounts under the hood near the steering column. This will keep it protected from the elements and allow easy access to the on/off switch and remote plug.
The strap attaches to a pin or bolt on the back of your snowplow blade if one is available. Simply slide the pin or bolt through the sewn-in loop at the end of the strap. It can also attach to your snowplow blade with a bow shackle or a hook if no pin or bolt is available.
The power leads connect the winch's power unit to your ATV or UTV battery. A set of quick connects is included to let you easily disconnect the power leads when you need to remove the snowplow from your ATV or UTV.

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at Etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Bulldog Winch Snowplow Winch for ATVs and UTVs; has a 600 pound lift. Now this is a light duty winch that'll let you raise or lower the snowplow blade on your ATV or UTV; does use a 0.68 horsepower permanent magnet motor with a continuous duty cycle. It is designed to handle constant raising and lowering of the blade. And it does use a sealed motor housing to help keep water, and prevent internal corrosion.
It is a nice compact design, allows the winch to fit in tight spaces. As you can see, the motor and gearbox unit is mounted to the side of the drum. Now it does require a mounting plate to install this on the front of your ATV or UTV. Those items we do sell separately on our website. The power unit, right here, includes the contactor.
It's all in a plastic housing, has the wiring, and over here has an "on" and "off" switch. It is designed to mount under the hood with this included mounting plate and the hardware. The contactor itself is a sealed 200 amp contactor which transmits power from the vehicle's battery to the winch motor. This contactor is more efficient than a 60-80 amp relay switch due to the higher current rating. And it is water and weather resistant to IP67 specifications. Now it also includes this handheld mini-rocker switch with an eight-foot lead, that'll let you control the winch from the seat of your ATV or UTV.
Basically, that just plugs into the contactor here. You just line the slot up. There's a little slot there, and you just slide that up, and then just push it in, and then twist the ear to make your connection. And now you can go out eight feet and control your winch in or out. And then when you're not using it, just unscrew it, unplug it, put your dust cap back on there to protect it.
And you're all ready to go.Now it does also offer these quick connects that will let you easily disconnect power when removing the plow. On the winch itself, it uses a dynamic brake to prevent the blade from lowering unintentionally. It uses a resistance from the motor to stop the drum rotation and prevents strap payout. It does use an all-steel single stage planetary gear train, provides quick drum speed. The strap on it, if you can see here, is a one and a half inch wide nylon strap, stretches to reduce shock on the winch, and it is 30 inches long. It attaches to the plow blade with either a bow shackle or a hook, which we do sell separately on our website; has a nice durable black powder-coated steel body, and the motor inaudible 00:02:46 resist corrosion.A few specs on this. The maximum plow lift we mentioned is 600 pounds. The rated line pull with a single layer of the strap around the drum is 2000 pounds, static load. Your ratio is 153:1. The weight on this winch is only about sixteen and a half pounds; does come with this nice instruction manual, describe how it connects and how it operates. And the last thing I want to do is just give you some dimensions on this. The overall length from one end to the other end is right at ten and five eighths inches long. The width on it, it's going to be right at about four and five sixteenths inches wide. And the overall height is right at four and three eighths inches tall. That should do it for the review on the Bulldog Winch Snowplow Winch for ATVs and UTVs with the 600 pound lift.

Compact winch lets you easily raise and lower a snowplow blade up to 600 lbs from the seat of your ATV or UTV. Includes power unit with on/off switch, 30" nylon strap, hand-held rocker switch, and quick connects.Works great on my trailer door.
After using a traditional winch for my snow plow on my ranger for three seasons, this bulldog snow plow winch was a godsend. It fixes all the shortfalls of using a traditional winch for snow plowing with a ranger! I could not be happier with it!
Works perfect for my snowbear plow
Winch works well, nylon strap shredded significantly
I purchased this one as a backup because when it snows , you don't want to be caught with your pants down!
