Video Transcript for Review of Truma Propane Accessories - LevelCheck Propane Tank Sensor With Flashlight - TR77VR

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today, we're gonna take a look at this Truma LevelCheck propane tank sensor. This LevelCheck propane tank sensor is going to help you avoid running out of propane when you are out on the road. And this hand held sensor is going to determine the level of propane in your tank in seconds using ultrasound technology. It is going to work on your steel and aluminum tanks from eight inches to 14 inches in diameter. And I do wanna point out that this is not suitable for plastic gas cylinders or automotive propane tanks. So you're going to simply hold the reader level, and press this against the top side of your propane tank.

And I do happen to have a few tanks here that I want to demonstrate how this is going to work. Now, this does have a series of lights on the sensor that I'm gonna zoom in here in the next minute or so to give you a clearer look. But the flashing orange light is going to mean that it is trying to determine how much propane you have in your tank. The red light is going to mean that you have no propane in your tank. And then, the green light means that you do have propane in your tank.

So you wanna make sure that the surface that you're gonna be putting your sensor on is clean. Dirt and debris might damage the end of your sensor and, or it could obscure a good reading. So you just start from the top and you push in and you'll hear the sensor click when you push in and then you'll hear some chirps letting you know that a reading is being taken. And you don't want to drag this down the side of your tank, because, again, that could damage the end of the sensor. So I'm just moving down incrementally, and I am not finding fuel.

It looks like I keep getting a red light. Let me zoom in here just a little bit, and I'm making my way down. So the light will turn off pretty much right after you take the reading, as you can see right there. So then I'm gonna take a reading, flashing orange, and then red means that we have no fuel. So as you can see, I cannot be trusted with propane it looks like.

So let me go ahead and zoom out and find a smaller tank here. By the way, this tank like this, if I haven't mentioned it already is, of course, gonna be your standard tank that you're going to use for the most part with your barbecue grill. But your RV, or your camper, or your fifth wheel tanks might be quite a bit taller than this and it's gonna work on those as well, just as long it do as it doesn't exceed the 14 inches in diameter. I have a smaller tank here that you might find in your teardrop camper. So again, starting from the top, moving down incrementally, and it looks like I am empty on this one as well. As I zoom in here, you see on this tank that we have a pretty wide weld here. And I just wanna point out that that might affect the reading from your sensor. So you probably wanna stay away from putting that up against that weld, because that's either gonna block the reading, or give you an inaccurate reading. But again, making my way down here, and it looks like this tank is empty as well. So it's gonna be very easy to use. And as you can see, it really does take only matter of seconds for this to come up with a reading. Another feature I wanted to point out is this does have a flashlight. It's going to make it very easy to use this in low light conditions. Let me just go ahead and turn my studio lights off here real quick, just to give you an idea. This is gonna be very helpful, just to help you find your tank, maybe in low light conditions and find a good spot to take a reading. And so great little feature that this offers, and it has a little push button there to activate and deactivate that flashlight. This is powered by a nine-volt battery, and this does include a nine-volt battery. So this was gonna be ready to go right out of the packaging. And as you can see, it's a pretty handy size. Let me pull my ruler out here real quick, and just give you some overall measurements. Looks like the overall length of this sensor, we're sitting pretty close to 5 3/8 inches long. The overall width, looks like we're right at 1 3/8 inches wide. And then, the overall depth and this is probably the deepest point here, we're sitting pretty close to an inch. Now, this does include an instruction booklet to go over the features in a little more detail, and then to help you make sure that you are using this the way that it has been designed. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
