CargoGlide sliding truck bed tray

The CargoGlide XL slide-out truck tray extends out 100 percent of its length so you can easily load and unload items in your truck bed without climbing, crawling, or excessive reaching. Instead, this custom-fit bed slide brings the cargo to you - whether you're hauling toolboxes, yard bags, paint cans, or even large appliances and construction materials. And it boasts a 1,500 lbs capacity. Simply move the release lever and give the tray a pull. The tray includes built-in tie-down tracks with eyebolts to help you strap down your cargo. The CargoGlide is perfect for do-it-yourselfers, contractors, hunters, and designated grocery-getters. It's made from top-grade materials, and it installs to your truck bed in just a few steps.

Custom-Fit Sliding Truck Bed Tray

CargoGlide custom-fit precision

The CargoGlide is custom-fit for your vehicle to make the best use of the available space in your truck bed.

CargoGlide slide-out truck bed tray drawer action

The sliding tray works like a supersized, high-quality toolbox drawer. Pull the tray out to bring your gear to you without reaching or climbing up into the bed of your truck. The tray's 36 tough, high-quality bearings are designed to glide smoothly even when the tray is loaded to capacity, so it's a cinch to move heavy loads into and out of your truck bed.

CargoGlide sealed bearings

The CargoGlide uses a combination of full complement, permanently-sealed bearings and sealed needle bearings to ensure smooth, dependable operation without binding, whether you're parked on a level surface or an uneven one, such as a hill or ditch.

Adjustable Positioning

CargoGlide sliding truck bed tray with built-in stops

The CargoGlide has a locking point every 12 inches. These built-in stops let you extend the tray in increments and they serve as safety stops. When fully extended, the tray pulls out to 100 percent of its length.

To slide the tray out, locate the 2 cutout grab handles and red paddle-latch release. Move the latch to release the tray, grab a handle, and pull. You can bypass the stops by maintaining pressure on the latch. To close the CargoGlide, simply push the tray back in until it locks into place.

Sturdy, Slip-Resistant Tray with Tie-Down Track System

CargoGlide steel frame with laminated deck

The CargoGlide's tray is a stout, 3/4" thick sheet of moisture-resistant, marine-grade plywood, laminated with TPO - a tough, polypropylene-based material that resists water, chemicals, abrasions, and flame spread. The tray is held in place by a sturdy steel frame, finished with a chip-resistant powder coat, and it will remain rock steady as you load or unload tools and equipment. The sturdy construction means it won't bend, warp, or twist under a load. The tray can also be tilted up and removed from its track if you need to make room for tall loads.

CargoGlide built-in side wall t-track system

The tray is surrounded on three sides by extruded, 6061-T6 aluminum walls, 4" tall, designed keep your cargo from sliding off the tray and from bumping into the sides of your truck. The CargoGlide also has a built-in tie-down system that helps control your cargo. A track runs along the side and rear inside walls of the tray to give you lots of options for securing your load. The tray comes with 4, marine-grade steel O-rings that can be positioned anywhere along the track to create tie-down points for your cargo. Each tie-down track anchor point has a 400-lbs capacity.

CargoGlide XL 8 inch side wall

To help contain larger cargo, the walls have extensions built-in that add 4" of height for the first 4' of the tray, beginning at the cab end.

Hassle-free Installation

CargoGlide simple installation with PlusNuts

The CargoGlide can be installed in a few simple steps. It's designed to be attached at 4-6 points in your truck bed using PlusNuts and bolts - all part of the included hardware packet. You will need the following tools: tape measure, crescent wrench, drill, knife, 5/16" bit, 1/2" bit, 1/2" socket, and a ratchet or impact driver.

The steps are straightforward (consult manual for full instructions):

  1. Position the CargoGlide in your truck bed and determine clearances (you will need another person to help lift)
  2. Locate and mark attachment points. Make sure there are no gas lines or other obstructions under the truck or van bed where you plan to drill.
  3. Drill the pilot holes installation holes.
  4. Install PlusNuts, bolts, and washers. Then tighten bolts.

Easy Loading/Unloading for Bicycles

The CargoGlide can be equipped to offer convenient bicycle transport. Install fork- or frame-mount truck bed bike racks (sold separately), and then slide the tray out for bike loading/unloading. No more awkward lifting or painful jabs from pedals and handlebars as you hoist bikes into and out of your truck bed.

Adjustable Height

The 2 adjustable feet on the underside of the tray allow you to fine-tune the height of the CargoGlide tray when you install it. This allows you to customize the tray to the perfect height for clearing your tailgate. Turn the feet clockwise to shorten the height of the tray or rotate the feet counterclockwise to extend it up.

Video Transcript for CargoGlide 1500XL Sliding Tray Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram

Today we will be installing our Cargoglide Sliding Tray on our 2009 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, part number cg1500xl-7548. To begin with you will want to clean the bed of your truck out. Next, youll want to position the cargo slider in the bed of the truck and youll want to center it between the wheel wells, as well as setting it about a half inch from the front of the bed. You will want to get the help of at least three other friends to help you set this unit into the bed of your truck. You will notice that the feet on this particular unit all bolt on the outside of the rails, and all of the locations are on the top section of the bed rib. Now that you see where the bolts will be drilled through, youll want to look under the bed and make sure there will be nothing in the way when you drill through.

Now, you will notice in our installation we had to remove the tailgate cover because the sliding tray interfered with it. Once you have the cargo slider situated in your bed, youll want to pull it back to the first stop notch and mark the first two holes. Now that youve done this, youll need to slide the whole unit back far enough that you can go ahead and drill your holes. To do this we will start with a pilot hole of an 1/8-inch bit. Then we will use a 7/16 drill bit to make the final hole.

Once this hole is done youll install your plus nuts using the installer nut tool as well as the longer bolt supplied with the kit. Now once you have both of the anchor points set you will need to remove the bolt as well as the tool needed to install them. Now that we have this done on both of the front holes, youll want to slide the unit back into position and bolt these two down. With this completed youll want to have somebody hold the back of the unit as you slide it all the way out as then the unit is not securely fastened to the bed yet to mark your other six holes. Youll repeat the same process that we did for the first two holes.

Now that the unit is securely fastened to the bed, we will go ahead and install the side rail extenders. These are done by using a hex key wrench and a wrench to hold the nut. As you will notice, you have to angle the pieces to slide them into the track properly. Now that the unit has been bolted down and the side extenders added, you can see how the latch works on a sliding unit. It is under the center section and it is painted red.

You will also notice that this unit slides all the way out to the back of the bed section. You can also use the channel that is along both sides as well as the front of the cargo glide to install the o-ring tie down locations. A few additional things to note for this particular unit; the actual tray area is approximately six foot long by four foot wide. The original sides are approximately 3 inches, and once you add the side extenders you get approximately 8 inches of height. And thatll do it for the installation on our 2009 Dodge Ram Quad Cab of the Cargoslide Sliding Tray 1500xl, part number cg1500xl-7548.

Review from a similar 1500XL in Slide Out Cargo Trays

I won't own another pickup with a topper on it without installing a CargoGlide. It is the best upgrade I have ever done. Thank you CargoGlide for the 100% slide out version. I would not go with anything less. 322221

I am still enjoying the slide out. It was well worth the investment.

  • Can a Bed Slide be Driven in Extended Position to Haul Cargo?
We can offer you a solution to haul lengthy cargo, but the CargoGlide 1500XL, # CG1500XL-7548, is designed to give you easier access to your cargo and should not be in the extended position while traveling. The reason for this is because when driving, additional force would be added to the sliding bed that wouldn't be present when you are parked, which it is not designed to support. If you are looking to transport something like 14 ft. 2x4's, I recommend the Erickson Over-The-Cab Truck...

  • Does the CargoGlide Sliding Tray Require a Tailgate for Support?
I've got good news! You will be able to use the CargoGlide # CG1500XL-7548 without the tailgate because it is not a source of support for the tray when extended; the sliding tray is supported by the in bed sliders and really shouldn't even make contact with the tailgate in most cases. The manufacturer mentioned that these sliding trays are often used on cargo vans, so they're designed to be used without any type of support from underneath the tray.
