At first when I opened the product, I thought that it might have been too small. My car has only 2-doors, so I was skeptical how it was going to hold. I was also concerned about my antenna location. With the adapter, it really looks good on the car, and really solid as well. It does leak a little when it rains out, but a little rain isn't going to stop me from having fun, and I expected it to leak a little from the mounts in between the door panel. I can't wait to add the kayak carriers onto it. I haven't ordered those parts yet, but will soon. here are a few pics to look at. I recommend it.

What number is the front and rear set to. I have my front 20 and rear 19 like the book says and one side goes off the car.

I bought the roof rack for my Toyota Solara to transport a 50 lb kayak to and from the water. I've used the rack perhaps 50 days so far. It performed as you would hope: no failures. What surprised me was how well it performs on the interstate. I wouldn't recommend taking it over 80 mph, but anything up to that point is incredibly stable.

Some cons: the rack is at its most outreached point, so that the caps are all that's holding it in place. My quick, cheap and effective fix was to use those flat rubber bungees from one cap to another. Another lightly irritating part is that the metal rubs up against the top of the window while driving, creating a chirping squeaking noise. Roll the window down to just below this point and you should be able to avoid a lot of road noise as well as the rubbing noise. The initial setup was lengthy, maybe an hour. Since getting it set up right though, taking it off is 5 minutes and putting it on is 10 minutes.

Overall review: you get what you pay for. Not the greatest removable roof rack out there, but for the price, you get a pretty good deal.

As I said in your other review it is a semi custom part so it wont be a perfect fit.

by:

Love the product just don't like the issue of it coming loose after a while

by:

I needed the short rack for an Acura Integra. Has worked out really well!

by:

This was an excellent product for my Lexus SC300 (curved roof + 2 Door), I was skeptical at first, but I have no complaints!

by:

Good. Product just needs to be longer for people using to transport kayaks

  • Recommended Methods for Carrying Four Bikes on 2002 Honda Accord 2-Door
Due to its very low tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of weight that can be applied to the receiver), the bike rack and hitch manufacturers agree that any bike rack used in a Class I receiver be limited to carrying two bikes only. Not only does the limited weight capacity come into play here, but any additional bikes placed on a rack will place the load of the additional bikes further away from the hitch. As more weight is added further away, more leverage is exerted on the hitch which...

  • Snow Board Carrier and Description of How SportRack Roof Rack Works on 1995 Honda Civic Coupe
If you look at the photo one of our customers submitted, you'll get a better idea of how the SportRack # SR1003 roof rack and the # SR1116 Short Roof Adapter fit together. Because your vehicle is a coupe and there's not a second set of doors at the rear of the vehicle, without the short roof adapter the crossbars would mount so close together, they couldn't be used for anything. The adapter provides side rails and another set of clamps that allow the rear crossbar to be moved rearward a...

  • How To Attach Cargo Basket To Roof of 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback
In order to secure a rooftop cargo basket on any vehicle you will need crossbars. Then you can add a cargo basket of your choosing like the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket part # C18115. There is no way to mount a cargo basket directly to the roof unfortunately.

There are integrated locks for security and the rack has a 130 lb weight capacity. It's a great option for a Toyota Echo and very cost effective.

  • Roof Rack and Cargo Basket for 2002 Honda Accord 2-Door
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack consisting of parts # SR1002 and # SR1116 is indeed a correct fit for your 2002 Honda Accord 2-door. When installed on your roof the two square cross bars will be separated (as measured from the center of one bar to the center of the other) by 23-1/2-inches. In some applications on vehicles with short and/or curved roof lines what is known as a short roof adapter, part # SR1116, is required to properly secure the rack on such vehicles. • Roof Rack Recommendation for a 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback
I have a solution for you, but the Rola 59758 is not a confirmed fit for your 1992 Honda Civic hatchback. • Roof Rack Recommendation for a 1995 Honda Civic
For your 1995 Honda Civic 3 door hatchback the Sportrack roof rack part numbers # SR1003 and # SR1116 is a confirmed fit. However, this is a semi-custom fit roof rack that doesn't always fit every vehicle perfectly since it's designed to fit as many vehicles as possible. A much better option would be the INNO part numbers # INB107, # INSUT, and # INJK, and # INK130. This is a custom fit rack that would fit much better.

  • Can the Bar Spread for SportRack Roof Rack for a 1999 Honda Civic be Increased
You would need some extra support because a roof rack fit is based on the most stable and strongest locations on the roof. What I recommend is using the short roof adapter # SR1116 which will allow you to more safely expand the bar spread so you can use the carrier. Please make sure that the kayak does not exceed the capacity of the roof which may be found in the owners manual or by contacting Honda.

The crossbars, however, will be limited to a spread of 23-3/4" because the adapter is not adjustable. However, the adapter's side rails and set of clamps do allow the rear crossbar to be moved rearward a bit.
