Video Transcript for Fit Test: Custom DK Fit Kit for 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs with 2011 Toyota Camry

Today on our 2011 Toyota Camry we're going to be test-fitting the "Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System." This consists of part numbers RRVA118B-2. Those are the "Vortex Aero Crossbars," part number RRRLKVA. Those are going to be the "Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs" for the crossbars. Then, part number DK114, that's going to be the clamp that attaches it to your actual vehicle. We have the front one installed already. As you can see, the bar has a nice aerodynamic shape to it. That is going to cut down wind noise and drag while you're driving.

With the other crossbar installed, they have a combined carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although you want to double-check with your vehicle to make sure it can withstand that kind of weight on this roof. Since we already have the front one installed, let's go ahead and show you how the real one goes on. We already have it partially assembled on our table here. When you get to the kit, it's going to consist of the rubber foot pad, the clamp and that's going to be for all 4 Series Legs. Then, the legs are going to come with the leg itself, the tightening tool and a cover with a lock on it. Now, when we start assembling this, let me turn this towards you so you can see it a little bit better, it's actually going to slip into this T-slot here and this metal bracket is what's going to do that. Line it up on the bottom there.

You may have to loosen this up just a little bit. All right, now we have that slid on. We'll straighten it back out here. Then, you want to take a measurement from this edge out. Now, normally, you would have what are called "measuring strips," where you put them into place, measure them out, cut them to length and put them back in. For demonstration purposes, we'll just do it this way with our measuring tape. All right, that looks just about right there.

We'll take our tightening tool, tighten on that screw on the inside. I think I pushed that in just a little bit. I did, so I'll loosen up just a hair, and we'll tighten it back down. Now, with that arm replaced, the next thing I want to do, again I'll turn this towards you, remove this bolt here and install our clamp. Now, these clamps are numbered, so just refer to your instructions on which one needs to go with which leg. I'm just going to need it loosely installed at first, just so the bolt won't come back out.

I'll get this straightened out as well. All right. Just before we put it onto our vehicle, we'll install our rubber foot pad, making sure that the arrow faces towards the front of the vehicle. These are also labeled for front right, front left, so on and so forth. All right, go ahead and push those back into position. Now we can open up both our rear car doors and set these in place. Before I do that, I'm going to go ahead and put the end-cap back on and lock it down with the included key here, like so. We'll sit them down into place for now. Next, we're going to measure out for our crossbar spread. Again, you're going to have to refer to the instructions on this. With the crossbar spread, it's going to be from center of the bar to center of the bar. Make sure they fit properly. Okay. All right, now we can start tightening them down. Then, grabbing our blue-handled tool, we'll just get them snug on both sides. I'm talking about that screw that we installed earlier. All right, that's nice and snug there. Now, once we get both sides snug, then we'll start tightening them down evenly on both sides, giving it about 5 or 6 turns each side until it's completely tightened down. Now, some accessories you can put on these roof racks, there's a wide variety of things, anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes to ski carriers or kayak carriers, although you want to be sure that you obey the weight restrictions of your vehicle when you put those things on. That's good there. Another thing I'd like to point out about this tightening tool, it's kind of neat, it'll tell you exactly when things are torqued down to where they need to be. You'll see at the end here, it has this curve to it. Once you tighten it down, I'll get a better grip here, that curve will turn straight when you're tightening it with your thumb. All right, that's good to go. Now, our final step is to put our covers on and lock them into place. This assures that there's not going to be any theft or tampering of your roof rack once it's installed. All these locks are keyed alike when you purchase it. All right, there you have it for the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System on our 2011 Toyota Camry.

  • Recommended Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for 2011 Toyota Camry
The entire roof rack for your 2011 Toyota consists of that fit kit # DK114, the legs # RRRLKVA, and the crossbars # RRVA118B-2. I've attached a video of this installation to assist. If you want a more factory look. you may want to consider Rhino-Rack ROC25 Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black # RR88ZR which is the complete system in one part number.

  • Can Rhino Rack Heavy Duty Roof Rack Be Used For Carrying Ladder on 2007 Toyota Camry
The Rhino Rack rack system can be used to carry ladders, as long as the weight of the ladder does not exceed the 165 lb capacity of the rack or the capacity of the vehicle roof, whichever is lower. You will need to consult your owners manual or Toyota for the capacity of the roof. Rhino Rack does indeed highly recommend that any loads extending beyond the front or rear edge of the roof be secured to the front and rear bumper of the vehicle for the sake of safety. Tie downs that are designed...

  • Best Way to Transport Cargo on Trip with 2015 Toyota Venza
The best setup here does depend a bit on what you're actually planning on hauling outside the vehicle. If the primary goal is simply to store excess cargo inside a box though, then the best option for your Venza is going to be with a roof rack and cargo box, simply because you'll be able to get a larger box on top of the roof than you would via a hitch-mounted solution. If you decide to go that route, and assuming your 2015 Toyota Venza has a completely naked roof (no factory side rails...

  • Installing Rhino Rack Roof Rack on 2012 Toyota Venza with Naked Roof
When installing the Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack with aero crossbars using parts # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK114, the clamps will secure the locking legs/rack system to the roof of your 2012 Toyota Venza (see included video). The clamps mount to the roof-rack legs with theft-deterrent bolts. A special tool (included) is needed to tighten the bolts. Tightening the bolts secures the vehicle-specific clamps to the legs and the legs to your vehicle's roof. It's that simple! I have...

  • Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2007 Toyota Camry Sedan
For your 2007 Toyota Camry the roof rack I recommend is the custom-fit Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK114 because this rack gives you aero shaped crossbars that will create minimal wind noise, will install easily, and other similar quality roof racks it is priced much better. I attached an install video for this rack on a similar 2016 Toyota Camry as well. Then for a 2-kayak carrier I recommend the Yakima JayLow # Y04073 because it is a J-style carrier...

  • Recommended Roof Rack and Kayak Carriers for 2011 Toyota Camry with Fishing Kayak and Regular Kayak
If your 2011 Camry doesn't have a roof rack, we need to start there. I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 54" long # RRVA137B-2 (instead of the 46" Long # RRVA118B-2), 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA, and Custom DK Fit Kit # DK114. This system comes with the locks you need and also will give you a capacity of 165 lbs. This will allow you to carry a fishing kayak using the Rhino-Rack Nautic 581 Rear Loading Kayak Carrier - Saddle Style - Rear Loading - Channel...

  • Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for a 2007 Toyota Camry
Let's start with a roof rack first for your 2007 Toyota Camry. For that you would want the Rhino Rack roof rack that consists of part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK114. This is a great rack at a fraction of the price of some of the more expensive racks and it works well so it would be my recommendation for you. To carry your kayaks I would recommend the Rhino Rack J-Style Carriers part # S510. These would work well for your 10 foot kayaks. You will want to check the roof capacity...

  • Rhino Rack Aero Roof Rack Comparison for 2011 Toyota Camry
The difference between the two roof racks you referenced is that one uses a through bar design where the crossbar comes through the feet of the rack and the other is a flush mount design where the crossbar stops at the inside of the feet. The flush rack is more of a factory looking rack option whereas the through bar design gives you a bit more crossbar to work with. For the through bar setup you would need the part numbers # RRVA118S-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK114. For the flush bar setup...

  • Can Rhino Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Carry 16 ft Canoe on 2009 Toyota Camry
Depending on its weight, the rack you asked about might very well be able to handle your canoe. The Rhino Rack 2500 Series roof rack for your 2009 Camry, which consists of parts # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK114 which is the vehicle specific clamp kit that attaches the crossbar/leg assembly to your Camry. When assembled, the crossbar/leg/clamp assembly has a 130 lb weight capacity. However, this capacity might be limited by the weight bearing capacity of your Camry roof, if it is lower....

  • Recommended Options For Carrying 4 Bikes On 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid
I did some online research on your 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The maximum towing capacity is 1000 lbs. This would mean that the maximum tongue weight for your vehicle would be between 100 and 150 lbs. Unfortunately, the combined weight of the four bikes and the 4-bike rack like part # HR400, would be more than the maximum weight allowed. There are options for your Camry to be able to carry 4 bikes. I would recommend a roof rack and a roof rack bike carrier for two of the bikes and also...

  • Roof Rack, Kayak Carrier, and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2011 Toyota Camry
What you need is a roof rack so that you can mount a bike and kayak carrier. We have exactly what you'd need. So let's first start with a roof rack. For that the Rhino Rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK114 makes the most sense. It's a high quality roof rack and a lower price. Some of the racks are incredibly expensive, whereas this rack is the higher quality but at a lower price point. For a bike rack that allows you to leave the front wheel installed the Yakima FrontLoader...
