Today on our 2015 Nissan Rogue we're going to be doing a test fit of the Yakima roof rack system for the 2015 Nissan Rogue. It's going to be a round bar setup with the factory RailGrab feet pads. If you look here, you'll see part number Y00138. This is going to be your RailGrab setup. It comes with a multitude of different feet that you can attach just by unthreading the bolt on the inside here and putting a new one on. This is a fully adjustable setup.
That way you can get it to fit your factory roof rail. This is for your factory roof rails and/or raised roof rails. Next you'll have your 48" bar; that's going to be part number Y00408. You can see that we already have one of the feet on here. We're going to put the other one and get it up on the top of the vehicle and show you how it fits and looks. We'll simply slide the foot pack on, place the end cap on the end, and we'll get it up on the vehicle and go from there. We'll go ahead and set it across.
With this I'm going to do a 30" crossbar spread, which means from center to center of my bars it will be 30". There's a 30" crossbar spread there. Let me do that on the other side as well. Again, getting your crossbar spread square is a key component to any roof rack and making sure that event goes smoothly, because if you get it on there crooked then as soon as you get a box on there or a basket or anything like that you're going to run into some serious problems. Next we'll take the included tool. We'll pop down the cap.
That is, if you do not have a lock set, you can just pop that off. If you have a lock set, go ahead and undo that and we'll pull it down. There's going to be two spots for Allen bolts here. We're going to screw in the bottom one first. This is going to secure our foot pack.
We're just going to get it semi-secure because the next step that we need to do is make sure that we get our bar overhang equal on both sides. Now to do this we won't measure off the back one because on a lot of vehicles the back of the vehicle is actually narrower than the front of the vehicle, so we're going to do it on the opposite side. Now that we have our bar overhang you can see that this is equal up here, but look how much different that back one is. This back one is actually an inch further overhang than that front one is. That can make a big difference when you get it up on top of the vehicle or you get things up on top of the vehicle. We'll go ahead and finish tightening down that bottom one and then the top one. The top one's going to secure that bar in place. Then we'll close that cap up. Let's go over to the other side and finish it. Always make sure you double-check event you do with this. Once you have it tight, close it up and you'll be ready to hit the road with your new Yakima roof rack system for our 2015 Nissan Rogue. Those are going to be part numbers Y00408 and Y00138. .
