Video Transcript for How to Install: Inno Aero Crossbars on your 2018 Nissan Rogue

Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at this Inno Roof Rack system with the 51 inch long crossbars and the Inno Through Feet for the raised rails on your 2018 Nissan Rogue. So you got your Nissan Rogue and you're ready for adventure. You gotta admit it's a cool looking vehicle. But sometimes, for different adventures, you're gonna need different things. So, what if you wanna carry a roof box, or roof baskets, or kayaks, or even roof-mounted bike racks What you then need is a roof rack system just like this.

So this is the Inno Roof Rack system which has longer crossbars, these are 51 inches long, and the Through Feet that was attached to the raised rails on your Rogue. So quick comparison of this crossbar system versus the other cross bar systems for your Nissan Rogue, is this is the Inno version. And I personally prefer them, just because they look really good, especially with our trim here. The silver accents on the end of the cross bars match well with the silver trim of the Rogue. But other than that, this is gonna be the wider version from Inno.

So you're gonna have a little bit more overhang on this one, compared to others. So compared to Flush Feet, where you have a more low profile or closer to the inside of your roof, this is gonna give you more space, great for those accessories that require overhang, like kayak load-assist carriers. So let's talk about overhang, and that's gonna be measured from the end of your towers to right before your end cap. Here in the back, we have it at 3 1/4 inches. For our front cross bars it's gonna be about three inches, so it does depend on where you measure.

Overhang is important for if you wanna maximize having a roof rack. I prefer having as much overhang as possible, 'cause then you can clamp things to the outside. It's easier to reach, but also if you use a kayak load-assist carrier, like the Thule Hullavator or the Yakima ShowDown, those require a specific length of overhang, since it comes down. This actually is not enough, so you may need some longer crossbars if you want those specific carriers. So let's talk about roof clearances.

So if you have this Nissan Rogue with that glass roof, you'll wonder how much space do I have for my accessories before scratching up my roof. So measuring from the top of the roof to the bottom of the crossbar, we have it at 2 1/4 inches, which isn't that much, honestly. So if you have items that clamp around your crossbars, they use the U-bolts with the wing nuts, you're gonna be very conscious of how much space you have there. Now that's when I recommend taking advantage of the T-tracks on top, because then they clamp on top of the crossbar, and you don't have anything underneath. Now for the height this adds to the top of our roof. Measuring from the top of our roof to the top of the crossbar, it sits at 3 1/2 inches. That's where your cargo and your accessories are going to sit. So if you're carrying, let's say, skis and snowboards, that also isn't a lot. So it's nice, because it's low profile, it looks classy, but then, if you have extra thick bindings, you're gonna wanna make sure you get the ski and snowboard carriers that have the lift. I think the Yakima FatCat EVO has that. And then they sit higher up, and you're less likely to hit your roof. Let's talk about the crossbars themselves. So we have these very nice, sleek aluminum crossbars with a black powder coated finish. They do have a weight capacity of 165 pounds. But just note, when we're talking about weight capacities, you remember to add up your cargo, add up your accessories, add up your roof rack system, and make sure that total does not exceed your actual roof weight capacity. These are also gonna be aero crossbars, which means they're a bit more aerodynamic than your round and square crossbars. That way the wind flows, and you have less wind drag and less wind noise, compared to those crossbars. Now let's take a look at crossbar length. So, your usual crossbar length is gonna be 51 inches, but that's only if you use the T-track accessories. The crossbar length for your clamps on the inside is gonna be from one tower to the other tower, 33 1/4 inches. So that's another reason why I highly recommend using T-track accessories, because then you can use all of the crossbar, like for example, for our raised rails here, they're 39 inches apart from edge to edge. And you wanna make sure, if you are getting a roof rack system, to make it the most out of it. So earlier I mentioned the in caps as stylish, but they're also helpful, because they cover your T-track system. So if you pop the end caps off off their clips, unfortunately these do not lock, so you can then insert your T-track accessories. The really cool thing about Inno, is all you need to do is push down on that rubber seal, slide the accessory through, and it adjusts around it. So compared to Thule, where it splits apart and tends to come off, because it's thermoplastic, and compared to Rhino-Rack, where you have to cut up the Vortex strips, this one, you leave it, forget about it, you're good to go. Speaking of end caps, you also have the tower end caps. So you get two keys. They are the exact same key. They access all four tower end caps, take that out, and now you can install or uninstall your towers. So speaking of the install process, Inno gives you pretty much everything you need to tighten this down. You don't need extra wrenches. You don't need extra tools. You just have this lever, you have your keys included. So let's take a look at that super easy process. The install process is gonna be super simple, because you have raised rails. So, you just need your crossbars and you need your towers. Then you also have your end caps for your towers, and your end caps for the crossbars. The only thing not included with this kit, but I recommend adding on, is gonna be some tape measure, just to make sure you get all your measurements right. So, I'll show you how to put the crossbars and the towers together. So inside your crossbar, you're gonna line it up so that your tray is on or towards the center. So just push this through. Then you have a button here, press that button and continue to push it through until this panel is open. That lines up with the inside of your tower, with those tabs. So with the strap facing out, you're gonna pop this in, slide it, and just like that it's attached. And with both towers on your crossbar you're ready to put this onto your roof. So you wanna make sure that you have the tall portion facing the front of your roof, and the tapered portion facing the back. I'm gonna have a friend, Lucky, on the other side, he's gonna grab the other end as we get it gently onto our raised rails. Since you have raised rails, you can kinda pick pretty much wherever you want your cross bars. I just kinda center them in the center of our fixed mounting points. And then you're gonna measure for overhang. So here we're gonna have about three inches from the end of the tower to the end of the end, right before the end cap. And once you have that on each side, just tighten it down with this lever. So with everything tightened down, all four towers look good and secure. You then put the end caps on the towers, lock them with your included keys. Then you have the end caps for your crossbars. Those just pop into place. Give a little pat-pat there. And then with all four end caps on your towers and your crossbar's good, then you are good to load this up and hit the road. So my personal thoughts about this Inno roof rack system, is I would definitely recommend going with these. Now, some people don't like extra long cross bars, because when they have shorter vehicles, they're worried about hitting their heads as they walk into their vehicle. As you can see with the Rogue, it probably is not gonna be an issue. That way you can get longer cross bars, still looks good on the Rogue, and you can maximize your space. So probably gonna be one of my favorite roof rack systems for your Nissan Rogue. But, hopefully this video helped you out with understanding the differences between this roof rack system and other roof rack systems. That way you can get the best fit for you and your different types of adventures, and your vehicle. And that was a look right here at our Inno Roof Rack system with the 51 inch long Aero Crossbars and the Through Feet for your raised rails, on your 2018 Nissan Rogue..

It clamps around the door frame so it's pretty easy to install and remove as well. It would be great for a temporary install or to be left on for a decent amount of time. The bars are aero shaped too which means there would be minimized wind noise.

  • Can I use Inno Aero Crossbars on Thule Towers?
I'll start out with the easiest part of your question in saying that footpacks between the two manufacturers are not going to be compatible, so you wouldn't be able to use Inno footpacks with a Thule tower or vice versa. When it comes to the cross bars, the Thule Vortex Aero Bars # TH711520 and Inno Aero Crossbars # INXB123-2 are going to be very close to the same size and they will mount in a similar manner on a foot pack, so you are able to use an Inno Aero Crossbar on a Thule tower...

The factory bars are too far apart when installed, and a little too wide to use safely with the Skybox NX 16. You'll want to go aftermarket and pick a rack that is quickly removed when not in use (And secure when it is) so you can remove them and avoid the "Double crossbar" look on the vehicle. • Is There a Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2023/2024 Ford Expedition Carrying Fishing Rods?
It appears you are going to need to have a front mount trailer hitch receiver fabricated for your 2023 or 2024 Ford Expedition as I do not see a custom fit aftermarket option available. We do have the Weld-On 2" Receiver # E17 which will aid in the fabrication of a custom receiver. If this is not an option you like the only other I can recommend is installing a Inno Roof Rack with the Crossbars # INXB160-2 and Feet # INXS150 which will attach to the factory raised rails on your Expedition....

  • Can 2018 Toyota Sienna Sunroof Be Opened with Roof Rack Installed
We generally side with the manufacturers when it comes to opening the sunroof with a roof rack installed; do so at your own risk. With the small amount of clearance you have on your 2018 Toyota Sienna I don't see you being able to safely open up that rear sunroof with the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MAL84AR, but I may have an alternative solution for you from Inno with these parts: - 51" Inno Aero Crossbars # INXB130-2 - Inno Through Feet # INXS150 This roof rack uses straps to secure...

  • 2005 Chevy Astro Inno Roof Rack Recommendation
We do have a variety of Inno roof rack options for the raised rails on your 2005 Chevy Astro. Out of the linked selection I recommend using the aero-style crossbars that sit on top of the feet so you can capitalize on the full length of the crossbars: 57" Aero Crossbars - # INXB145-2 Through Feet - # INXS150 If you let me know what you were planning on using this roof rack for I'd be more than happy to make another recommendation!

  • Roof Rack And Kayak Carrier And Bike Rack Recommendation For 2000 Volkswagen Passat
The roof rack I recommend for your 2000 Volkswagen Passat Wagon is the 2000 Volkswagen Passat Roof Rack by Inno parts # INXB115-2 and # INXS150. The kayak carrier I recommend is the SportRack Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs, part # SR5511. This is a J-style carrier and has fixed arms. This carrier also includes the straps and ropes for securing your kayak to the carrier and to your Passat. The bike carrier I recommend is the Thule ProRide XT Roof Bike Rack, part # TH598004. This is a frame-mount...

  • Large Roof Cargo Bag and Roof Rack Recommendation for 2011 Kia Sorento
The Rightline Sport 3X Rooftop Cargo Bag, part # RL100S30 is one of the largest bags we offer, at 18 cubic feet. The bag measures 48 inches long by 40 inches wide by 19 inches tall, and would fit your Sorento very well. The # 988501 you mentioned is a bit larger, but it's meant for use on a hitch mounted cargo carrier at the rear of the vehicle. The bag is 2 feet tall, and would be exposed to a considerable amount of wind resistance that could eventually cause the mounting straps to fail....

  • Why Do Inno Roof Rack for 2022 Subaru Forester Have Different Length Crossbars
Inno has a few roof racks that fit your 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness edition with raised rails. The reason for this is basically because some people want more bar space for more accessories whereas other people might prefer a shorter bar option. For a 51 and 54 inch version you'd want the part numbers # INXB130-138 and # INXS150 whereas for a staggered set of 48 and 51 inch # INXB123-130 and # INXS150. Now the reason for the different lengths of bars that fit each rack has is because...

  • Roof Rack Recommendation For 2007 Toyota Sienna
If by Thule Pro you mean the Thule ProRide XT Roof Bike Rack # TH598004 it is compatible with all types of roof rack bars. The same goes for if you have the older version of the Thule Pro Ride. If neither of these are what you have, I would be happy to provide another recommendation if you can let me know what model you have. If your 2007 Sienna has raised rails, I recommend the Inno Aero roof including parts # INXB138-2 and # INXS150. This quality rack features aero crossbars that reduce...

  • Inno Aero Crossbar Roof Rack Recommendation for 2017 Jeep Cherokee with Raised Rails
For an Inno roof rack with aero shaped crossbars that does fit your 2017 Jeep Cherokee with raised roof rails the rack you'd want that uses the crossbars part # INXB123-130 also requires the feet kit part # INXS150 and you'd be set. This will give you a 48 inch long crossbar roof rack confirmed to fit your Cherokee.

  • Best Value Roof Rack For 2020 Subaru Crosstrek With Factory Raised Rails
I understand that you want the best roof rack for your money. I recommend the Inno Aero Crossbars part # INXB123-130 and feet part # INXS150. The Inno Aero Crossbars are very comparable to the quality of other more well known brands out there. They are designed to be aerodynamic to cut down on wind noise and feature the built in t-slot to easily mount accessories with t-bolts without needing to the rubber strip like with other brands. The bars are a nice black aluminum construction for...

  • Recommended Aero Style Roof Rack for 2015 Ford Flex with Factory Rails
I do have a great solution for you, however the Ouray Crossbar that you referenced is actually no longer made by Rocky Mounts and we don't have any left in stock. For a similar aero-style roof rack that will fit the raised rails on your 2015 Ford Flex I instead recommend the Inno Roof Rack that consists of # INXB145-2 for the two 57 inch Aero Crossbars and # INXS150 for the Through Feet. These sleek bars do feature integrated T-slots that allow you to easily attach compatible accessories...

  • Cargo Boxes Compatible With 44 inch Crossbar Spread On A 2021 Toyota Tacoma With OEM Roof Rack?
Be sure to measure from the Center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar to get an accurate crossbar spread. I just want to make sure that you have the right measurement because there isn't a box that is designed to fit that long of a spread. The closest thing i have is a 42 inch crossbar spread with the Yakima SkyBox 21 # Y07337 and that won't fit. Your only option would be to stow the factory roof rack away and get the Inno Through Feet # INXS150 and the Aero Crossbars # INXB130-2....

  • Cargo box and Roof Rack Recommendation For 2019 Nissan Rogue
Cargo Boxes are not technically vehicle specific, as long as you have a roof rack on the vehicle you can use a cargo box that is compatible with the bars that you have. Measure from the center of the rear cross bar to the center of the front cross bar for the cross bar spread. You also want to measure from the center of the front cross bear to the point where the roof and hatch meet. I recommend to use a box with a more versatile fit like Malone Cargo16 Rooftop Cargo Box part # MPG902...

  • Best Roof Rack and Surfboard Carrier for a 2020 Toyota 4Runner with the Raised Side Rails
While it is true that price does typically reflect quality, when it comes to roof racks you will be just as happy with the performance of a middle-of-the-road aero-style rack as you would with one of the ones at a higher price-point. Because of this I highly recommend the Inno roof rack for your 2020 Toyota 4Runner with the raised side rails. This consists of 54" Aero Crossbars # INXB138-2 and the Through Feet # INXS150. It not only gives you the aerodynamic crossbars but the feet also...

  • Which Roof Rack Will Work On My 2020 Jeep Cherokee With Black Factory Roof Rails?
That is not a dumb question at all; this is not a very common situation. I do have a solution for you, but unfortunately the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MPG215 and Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MPG216 will not fit your 2020 Jeep Cherokee because the factory raised black rails on your roof are actually wider than the silver rails. These crossbars are only wide enough to fit the dimensions of the silver roof rails. For a similar aerodynamic style crossbar setup that will fit your black roof...

  • Availability of Rain Gutter Feet for Inno Square Crossbars
Hey Stephen, Inno actually has a few rain gutter feet designs but only for their square bars. There are no options for aero bars. We have the # INSD which is 7-1/2 inches tall, part # INMDK which is 9-7/8 inches tall, and the # IN72FR which is 5-1/2 inches tall. About how tall of a foot do you think you need?

  • What Kind of Roof Racks Are Available for 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
Hi Rodney; assuming you have the raised side rails we have roof rack systems with aero bars and square bars. I would stick with aero personally since they're easier to deal with when mounting accessories. If you're looking for a low cost option to put on when you need it I recommend the Inno Aero Roof Rack for Raised Rails # IN53YV. If you plan on keeping the roof rack on all the time I would get the Yakima JetStream roof rack since it is the quietest. You will need the # Y00425, # Y53TR,...
