The cross bar set took 20 minutes to install and the rod holder took about 30 minutes (most of the time spent was alignment of cross bar and rod holder. IF we decide to do my wife Subaru we will use Etrailer again.
Very satisfied with this roof rack! Easy to install, and works well with the kayak racks I use. There is some noise as you would expect, a slight whistle, but nothing my music doesn’t cover up easily. I leave them on all the time!

I know the wind noise does not currently bother you with roof rack. If that should change, I recommend looking at adding a fair like part # INA262. They come in various lengths and this would be 48 inches long.
Used it two times. Wasn’t able to use it anymore after the plastic tightening knob broke.
I recently ordered these bars for my wife’s 2016 Toyota RAV4. James was very helpful on the phone and they arrived very fast.
Unfortunately, the bars did not pass the test. After a 35 mile trip with my wife’s kayak on top (55 lbs), we arrived with the bars bent. Even after removing the kayak, the bars did not go back up. Because they were bent, the bottom of the Thule Compass Kayak and SUP Carrier kept hitting the top of the RAV4.
We followed the instructions to the letter during installation. Needless to say, we returned these crossbars and went with the Rola Rail Extreme RBU Series Roof Rack. Much better experience.

Garbage! One of them wouldn’t secure. Too low weight capacity also.
I think for the price point these cross bars are great. If you’re needing them for a tent or heavy duty, perhaps not the best choice. I’m no expert, that’s just what I think. I was relieved to find these as a Subaru Wilderness owner due to the lack of crossbar options and dependable information out there. I just wanted something good enough to hold some snowboards/skis, maybe a surfboard, but don’t care about the fancy name brands. I’m sure there are sleeker sets but I find these black Curt’s to look just fine. Came with 2 sets of keys, of course hardware, and took 40 minutes to assemble including the Thule snowboard rack. The next test will be how noisy they are, which I still think considering these will be on temporarily for a few months out of the year, I can deal.
Very poor quality, tightening mechanism on one clamp failed a month in, caged nut was pulled from plastic housing, customer support insists it was overtightened and I should simply buy a new one given nothing is sold separately, was installed and used per manufacturer instructions. Disappointing at best, dangerous at worst.
First time customer. I was very impressed with the speed my order was processed and shipped and the way etrailer runs their business should be an industry example.

Solid item. Bought it for my 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness. Also purchased the Yakima Ski/Snowboard rack in addition to these cross bars. Will write a review after a year of owning it.
Well built rack that was more difficult to install than expected. I had problems trying to position it because of the sunroof on my 17 alltrack; the front bar is as far forward as I can get it, and then I opened the sunroof and positioned the back bar about an inch behind it.
I wanted a set of crossbars that are easy to put on and take off as I will only need them when on trips to the mountains and to the beach - about four trips per year. These are the perfect bars for my needs and fit very well on the roof rails of my 2020 Subaru Forester. Shipping was extremely fast and product arrived in great condition.

Great. Easy to take on and off and they come with a lock unlike most cross bars which require you to purchase them separately.
It's very easy to install, It didn't take 10 min from me to put the roof rack on top. I just noticed that one of them has a minor curve in the middle but not big deal to worry about
The rails are rated for 150lbs, the carriers and the kayaks are well under the weight, there is a little bowing under the load but not bad. To be honest I expected worse having read some of the other reviews.
After one year on the roof rails of my Infiniti QX50, I give this set 10 stars! Easiest install ever and logical- no knuclebusting, one person could do it all , but having another to help place each set of rails and locks in 2 places is a must . Then one happy camper, or skier , or traveler can add whatever needs once they are locked- and the locks are simple and intelligent- no screwdrivers specific to other brands Allen wrenches yada yada.

The tightening knobs can be over tightened fairly easily, and will no longer tighten. This renders the entire mount unusable. Register a warranty with CURT or return before using the product if you wish to avoid getting stuck.
Installing the " Curt Roof Rack for Raised Side Rails - Aluminum - Black - 53-3/8" Long
Item # C18118" was a breeze and they worked as intended. I looked over the installation sheet that came with the rack, and since I had done this in the past, well no biggy it was easy. All you got to do is center the bars over the roof, tighten them to the side rails and off you go. After I installed the bars, I split open some 1" diameter foam pipe insulation from the Depot and taped it to the bars to provide extra cushion. I stacked 2-40lbs kayaks on the bars in my VW Jetta wagon and off we went. I recommend these to anyone. Thanks

1 year and still going, they are doing what theyre intended for. The rack is probably going to last longer than the car :.
Been on the vehicle a little over a year. I’ve carried snowboards to cargo carriers. Bars work well and look good. After installing I decided to just leave them on full time. They add to the look of the 4 runner.
