Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the exposed racks universal 51-1/2 inch long multi-function square crossbar for the Jeep JL and JLU Wranglers. Now this is a universal crossbar that can be used to add an exposed rack crossbar system to your Jeep, or to upgrade your existing exposed rack system. It is designed to work with the Jeep JL Wrangler, the two door, and the Jeep JLU, which is the Wrangler Unlimited four door version. And it'll work with either the soft top or the hard top models.

This crossbar is a heavy duty carbon steel construction. All the crossbars are machined, clean, and then electroplated inside and out as a protective barrier against the elements. And then they powder coat it. This one happens to be a textured black finish. They are also available in the red finish.

Just want to zoom in to show you the finish on it. It's a nice black textured finish.And then you can see the square holes we're talking about. This is the click in design. It uses these laser cut square cutouts that'll accept the exposed rack's push pin accessories, like kayak mounts, or universal mounting plates. Those accessories we do sell separately on our website, but basically those accessories we'll click into the square holes on the rack using a one-hand push pin.

So basically your square accessory will have a square mount on it that goes in there and then goes through the bottom, and once it goes the pin will click out to hold it into place. And then to remove it, just push in on the pin and you can pull it right out. So it makes it very quick and easy to move the accessory from one hole to the other.Now this will also allow the use of other manufacturer's rooftop accessories on your Jeep. And then it can be used to install a rooftop tent on your Jeep. If it is installed on a soft top, the soft top does close over these crossbars without any interference.

And there is no drilling needed for installation. The mounting hardware to install this to a soft top or a hard top are sold separately. This part is made in the USA.And last thing I want to do is just give you the measurement on this crossbar. Overall length from this end to this end is right at 51-1/2 inches. It is a square bar. So the height and the width is right at 1-1/4 inches.
