This semi-custom SportRack roof rack easily installs on your vehicle's bare roof so you can carry extra cargo to your next destination. Adjustable, rotating footpads combine with an easy-to-use numbering system to make the rack conform to your roof for a good fit.
A unique numbering system is inscribed on the crossbars to aid in installation. This system corresponds to numbers noted in the easy-to-read application guide. First, find the number indicated for your car, and then slide the roof-rack feet along the crossbars until they line up with the appropriate number for your application. Tighten the feet in place with the included Allen wrench.
Refer to the application guide to find specific measurements that allow you to properly position the rack on your roof. To begin installing the roof rack on your vehicle, open the passenger's- and driver's-side doors. Place the front crossbar first, and make sure that the screws that hold the clamps in the roof-rack feet are loose before positioning the feet on your roof.
Before attaching the clamps to the door jambs and tightening them down, you need to make sure that the feet and pads are oriented correctly. The bottom of each foot can be rotated to better fit the slope of your roof. Make sure that the feet are sitting flush against the roof.
Once the feet are properly positioned, attach the clamps to the door jambs and tighten via the screws in the feet. After the front crossbar is positioned, review the instructions for the measurements needed to place the rear crossbar and repeat the same process for that crossbar.
Once everything is tightened down, place the locking covers over the feet to deter theft of the rack.

Included locks secure the rack to your roof.Product works and was fairly easy to install. Though beauty was not my concern, it appear that the product had been previously installed and return, or the adjustment had been tightened, as the “numbers” had been scraped and the bad dented. A bit surprised to see this much wear on a new piece. 611539
A good rack to transport my kayak. Instructions were clear, and the fitting guide was accurate for my 2017 Toyota Corolla. Once I figured out what was going on, the rack went on perfectly. It is snug on the car. Unloaded, there is no wind noise created by the rack. I added 3 1/4" diameter pool noodles to the rack crossbars. Cut the noodle lengthwise, wiggle it over the bar, and secure with zip ties. Use medium thread lock on all the screws. I've had positive comments on the rack. 508430
Installation of the SR1010 was a bit challenging. Had to go back and forth, up and down to make sure all the measurements are done correctly. Dimensions giving on the instruction manual was off for the 2014 Toyota Corolla S Plus. The leg kit clamps could have been a little more flexible to fit the naked roof. Installation time took a little over hour. I wouldn’t recommend SR1010 to anyone who is a novice. “You get what you pay for.” That’s what my wife told me. 543178
Came beat up. Messaged the help desk and haven't gotten a reply. I have a trip in two days and don't know if I will be able to use this because I don't want to install one that came beat up like this and not get a refund. Disappointed in the lack of response. All I got was a survey back from them. These pictures show four separate flaws in the racks. Pluse one part of it has a slight bend in not shown in pictures. 392899
We bought this rack so that we could use a car top soft side luggage bag when we moved from Iowa to Manitoba in December last year. I modified the rack to accommodate the soft side luggage bag by fitting it with bent pieces of electrical conduit (see the photo). The luggage bag sat on top of the conduit and was strapped to the sport rack and it worked amazingly well. We drove through some nasty cold and wind and it stayed where it was put. Since we did not want to drive a large moving truck in the winter, we moved with only the stuff we carried in (and on) the car that day. When we went back for the moving truck last summer, we brought the canoe to Manitoba and started using the sport rack (minus the conduit pieces) to carry our old style 72 lbs aluminum canoe on top of the car. Again, works like a charm. I have now acquired proper straps for attaching the canoe to the car and sport rack, but I see no reason to upgrade the rack. The only drawback of the rack is making sure I don't lose the instructions on exactly where to place it on top of the car, and the fact that putting it on for the season is a bit fiddley, but once it was on it rode there all summer, comes off quickly and easily, and takes up very little space for storage. We love our sport rack. It turned out to be a great purchase! 582268
This has been a good product. It is sturdy, can carry a lot of luggage, or a bicycle and even a 17 foot kayak (for short distances. It is relatively easy to install, usually takes about a half hour for me to put it on, a little less to take off. It is sturdy and wonderful extra cargo space for my corolla. Problems I had with it. The bolts are rusting quickly in the Florida humidity as well as patches on the carrier itself. Really needs to have rustoleum or another rust proof paint put on to keep up with the minor rust that has occurred in the first year. The wind shear is very loud. I ended up putting foam pipe insulation on the brackets it attaches to. I did not want to throw out another hundred dollars or whatever it costs to buy a faring for it. It was so loud you could not hear the radio at 60 miles per hour. They really don't warn you of this when you buy it. I have heard all kinds of things to cut down on the wind noise with it, including wrapping rope around the cross bars that hold it to the car. The foam pipe insulation helps a lot and is a cheap solution, but it is still somewhat loud at speeds above 60 mph though I have gotten used to it. Overall I do love the product, it just has problems with rust and wind noise. 450294
Got the rack for my 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ to attach j racks to haul kayaks. Fits great, had to adjust between 17-16 on bar setting, feels very solid, installs and removes easily. Have not been able to take kayaks out yet but feeling confident the rack will work great. Came assembled, with instruction pamphlet, all materials received were in great shape. Plan to do a future review after utilizing rack when weather is better but at this time is as advertised and feeling excited. 468511
Super easy to install. So far have only carried my bike on top of my accord but plan to throw my canoe up there at some point. Little wind noise but not bad. Very sturdy and great construction. Have hot 90 on the freeway with my bike loaded with no issues. For the price this rack can't be beat for sure! Very satisfied! Also, super fast shipping. Thank you etrailer.com! 522449
I just barely put the roof rack on my car- I read a few reviews saying that installation was difficult, but I can't say I had a similar experience. I didn't even need the instructions to figure out how to put it on except to check the measurements against my car model. It is a little noisy when I'm driving on the highway, but for the cost that's barely worth complaining about! I haven't had a chance to load them up yet, but so far I'm in love. 570567
If you would like, a fairing would be helpful to reduce some of the wind noise you are experiencing. I have provided a link to the fairing options that we currently have. This rack is a great occasional use rack, if you see yourself using a rack more frequently and the noise is a significant issue for you, you might consider a custom fit roof rack option that has an elliptical or aero profile bar. These styles of bars are much quieter and provide less wind resistance.
--Great service on Delivery. Wow. Hope to use more with my Kayak in the Spring. Wish it came with more keys. locksmiths don’t have the blanks. 939316
This thing is complete trash, maybe good if you only drive 25 mph everywhere you go. Had this thing on my car for about a week. Was on my way to a mountain to go snowboarding that was 2 hours away. Was about 30 minutes away driving down the highway in the right lane going the speed limit and this thing completely flew off my car. The Yakima Evo snowboard rack was still attached tho, so that thing is a beast. But this sports rack is completely trash and I WOULD NOT reccomend it. DONT BE CHEAP and buy a Thule. If I could put no stars I would 937289
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE PIECE OF GARBAGE! We read instructions and installed carefully. Weighed bicycle and rack to make sure it wasn't over the weight limit. Took off for first spring ride, got on the interstate and the whole rack slid off of the roof and VERY LUCKILY landed on the side of the road upright without harming any other motorists. It did, however, cause damage to the roof/window area of the car that will cost a fortune to repair and gouged the rear window. The cheap clamps that attach the rack to the roof weren't strong enough to hold the rack on and all broke and/or pulled/twisted off. It was a windy day and it happened when going about 60 mph. 922236
Works fine with no problems. Easy to change car to car as well. 898225
Very hard to install. But if you screw down the clamps it’ll work 875945
They work great but are quite loud in the wind. 875897
Got this to haul a wooden canoe to and from bodies of water on my Chevy Cruz. Works as intended. The canoe is very heavy, but the bars handle it very well. One word of caution. I keep my racks on essentially permanently. You will hear a lot of wind noise at or above 70 MPH and they can catch crosswinds. Overall, though, I kind of expected that. They're a wonderful addition to my vehicle. 851867
Installed very easily in about 30 mins. Good, solid roof rack for the money. The reason I rated 4 stars is because on my car, a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, the weather stripping seals at the top of the doors gets pushed out quite a ways and there’s a decent amount of wind noise that comes in through there. Enough noise comes in that I will have to purchase some additional weather stripping and place it near the clamp of the rack inside the door where it shuts. I have no other complaints besides that. Just be aware of the weather stripping on your car if it’s similar to what is on a 2012 Jetta. I will update once I install the additional weather stripping to see if it helps or not. 811703
Product arrived before the anticipated date which is good. When looking at the instructions that came with the product, my vehicle was not listed. However, when I was ordering them the website said they would fit, as did the instruction manual on line. I printed the online instructions and the product fits. I have not carried any loads yet, but the instructions say not to carry things like boats. I bought these specifically to carry two 10' kayaks, we will see if they can carry them. 805078
Works great. Haven’t had a single issue in the year I’ve had it. Easy to intstall and very secure. I bought kayak holders that work great with it too! 800748
received in near perfect condition double boxed with roof basket. Arrived on time. Will assemble tomorrow. was helped by operator 72961 in customer service with this an another order for tracking information. Love etrailer--best company and terrific customer service. 784848
This rack is great. I have used it for a year of carrying a kayak around on a Chevy Cruze. It is very easy to install and remove...probably takes 2-3 minutes at the most. The clamps don't interfere with the door seal, so I've never had any issues with rain or air noise getting around the seal. Since the rack doesn't actually bolt down to the car and simply clamps to the drip edge around the door frames, I use a strap at the front and rear of the kayak. I don't think I would trust the rack's clamping force to retain the rack and a kayak or two at highway speeds without the front and back straps. 783239
The rack arrived fast and was fairly easy to install , no tools needed only the Allen wrench which was provided. Great price also, the rack is very sturdy and good quality.I would recommend to anyone who’s on a budget that’s looking into getting a roof rack that doesn’t want to spend a lot of money. 768365
Pros: Affordable, no permanent modifications needed to vehicle. Cons: Pain in the behind to install, especially the first few times. As soon as one side was snug, the other side would slide up or pop out of place. One of the rubber feet ripped and came apart from the metal frame the second time I used it. I use this to free up room in my trunk when car camping, so the most I've hauled on top is a tent in a soft-sided bag (roughly the size of a golf club bag.) I would not trust this rack to hold with anything much larger or heavier. 766363
Installing was pretty easy. Would definitely recommend this product . 737811
