Today in our 2017 Nissan Altima, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts JetLine Roof Bike Rack, part number RKY1320. We already have our bike installed on the rack, let's go and take a closer look and show off some of our features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have two points of contact with no frame contact at all. Instead, we're going to have this front skewer mount, which is going to grip your bike by the fork mounts. You can knock this out and actually install a lock cord to it so you can secure your bike to the bike rack. At the rear we have this wheel strap here. This is adjustable along the length of the bike rack to accommodate different size bikes.
With the bike rack in this position, there's not going to be any issues of clearance between the trunk and the bike rack as you can see here. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. We'll start with the rear strap. You just push up on the top of the tab here, which will release it, and bring it out. Then we'll come up to the front here and to release this all you do is pull that like so and at this point you can loosen or tighten it however you need, and take off your bike. How this actually attaches to your bike rack it's pretty easy. It actually installs in the T-slots of your crossbars here.
If you don't have the T-slots in your crossbars this does have other attachments available to attach to your crossbars. To tighten it down, we're going to have two screws up at the top here in the front and one off to the side here on the rear side. Also, with this cover, you can knock out this plastic piece here and replace it with a lock cord as well so you can actually secure your bike rack itself to the roof rack. There you have it for the RockyMounts JetLine Roof Bike Rack part number RKY1320 on our 2017 Nissan Altima. Here it is on our test course. We'll start by going through the slalom.
This is going to show us the side-to-side action which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next we're at the alternating speed bumps, which will see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Finally we have the full speed bumps where we'll see the up and down action which is just like driving out of a parking lot garage or driveway.

The JetLine rooftop bike rack is a stylish way to transport 1 bike with a quick-release front wheel. Sturdy carrier mounts on round and square bars and crossbars with top channels. Sleek design features a lockable skewer. This was very easy to install on a Thule AeroBar rack. It is very quiet and seems to hold securely.
This is my first bike rack so, I have no basis of comparison with other racks. I can say that this rack was easy to install, the quality is high, mounting the bike is easy and holds very securely.
I am glad I went with etrailer.com. I had initially ordered an incorrect item. I sent customer service an e-mail on Sunday night and received a call on Momday morning. They straigtened eveything out for me: kinda how customer service was "back in the day". Imagine, real live people to solve your problems. I highly recommend this company.
After spending 4 hours and more $ than I care to admit trying to modify a Yakama bike rack that a friend gave me to mount on my racks, I did the smart thing. Went to etrailer. Had it installed in 5 minutes, mounted my bike and was off to my favorite riding spot.
I should have done this in the first place.
Excellent service.
Thank you.
Product is simple and gets the job done. I decided to go this route other than the Thule or Yakima, just for the simple fact of it being available and cheaper. The only weakness I would say this rack system has is the plastic rear clamp fastener. Other than that the rack is solid. For the price point, its a great option.
Planning a longer drive to FL this winter and wanted to bring the bikes. The PitchFork racks looked like the ticket needed. Mounted to my Camry the bikes ride mount easily (after removing the front tire) and seem plenty sturdy.
I appreciate all the tech videos on the etrailer site for helping me make a decision.
As always outstanding service, fair pricing, and quick shipping. This is our 5th purchase from etrailer and we have always had outstanding customer service. Bicycle racks are high quality.
