Inno Slim Fork with bike

The Inno Slim Fork lets you transport 1 road bike or cyclo-cross bike on the roof of your vehicle. A 9-mm quick-release skewer secures your bike's front fork, and a ratcheting clamp holds the rear wheel. The carrier clamps onto most crossbars with no tools required. A locking cover secures your bike to the carrier and the carrier to your crossbars.

Fork Block with 9-mm Skewer

Inno Slim Fork with 9-mm skewer openInno Slim Fork with 9-mm skewer closed

The fork block includes a 9-mm quick-release skewer with an oversize handle. To mount your bike simply open the handle, lower your bike's front-wheel fork onto the skewer, tighten the adjuster, and close the handle. The adjuster will spin freely once your skewer is secure to prevent over-tightening.

Sliding Rear-Wheel Cradle

Inno Slim Fork sliding rear cradle

The Slim Fork has a sliding cradle that grips your bike's rear wheel. The cradle tightens with a ratcheting hand knob, and it holds all rim heights including the tall rims found on road bikes and cyclo-cross bikes. The cradle adjusts along the body of the rack to accommodate bikes of different lengths.

Inno Slim Fork rear tire strap

A hook-and-loop strap is included for additional rear-wheel security when you are driving on rough roads or when the cradle isn't grabbing the wheel tightly. To install, run the strap between the spokes of your wheel and wrap it around the body of the rack.

Easy Installation

Inno Slim Fork front clamp

The rack is simple to install and requires no tools. It easily clamps onto most crossbars with included mounting hardware. Cam levers tighten the clamps in place. To install on your front crossbar, lift the cam-action lever on top of the fork block and remove the square nut from the mounting plate. Position the plate under your crossbar and slide the square nut and bolt back into the plate cutout. Tighten the square nut and then close the handle to secure it in place.

Inno Slim Fork rear clamps

To mount to your rear crossbar, open the lower cam-action lever and slide the bolt out of the lower bracket. Place the lower bracket under the crossbar and slide the bolt back into place in the bracket. Tighten the lower lever until the carrier is secure.

Inno Slim Fork spacer diagram

A spacer is included for use with crossbars less than 1" tall. Rubber sheets keep the spacer from touching the crossbar.

The Slim Fork can be mounted on either side of your vehicle. Just make sure the quick-release skewer handle and the rear-wheel cradle knob are facing the side of the vehicle from which you want to load the bike.

Complete Security

Inno Slim Fork locking cover

The Slim Fork's fork block has a locking cover that lets you secure your bike to the rack and your rack to the crossbars. The quick-release skewer handle is under the cover when closed and it cannot be opened unless the cover is unlocked. The front mounting hardware is also under the cover so when the cover is locked the rack cannot be removed from your crossbars.

Video Transcript for Inno Slim Fork Bike Rack Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Inno Slim. This is a universal mount front fork roof mounted bike rack. Part number INA387. The Inno Slim is a sleek, lightweight bike rack. You can see here that it's a fork mounted bike rack so it does not require that the bicycle have the front wheel installed. It will accomodate disc brakes as well. Now really quick before we show you the installations, we just want to go over some features moving from the front to the back of the bike rack. Here's the front of the bike rack.

One of the key features is how the skewer actually hides underneath the front head here. It's a really neat system. It's going to feature one lock right here. Not only does that lock lock the bike rack to your roof rack system, the skewer is not going to be able to be disengaged without that lock being disengaged. It's going to lock the bike rack to the vehicle. And it's going to lock the bicycle to the rack. Now, here at the back portion of the carrier.

This is a really unique design. It's going to feature a ratcheting grip. Now, this is designed to work like a brake pad. It's not going to make any contact with the rim so you don't have to worry about that being damaged. It's simply just going to caress the rear tire as we tighten that down.

You don't want to over tighten it, just get it snug and it's going to hold that firmly in place. If you're not confident with that, Inno is going to provide a tire strap that you can put on in addition to the ratcheting mechanism for more security. The rear clamp does now support bike tire widths from 18 to 35c. Now that we've gone over a few features, we're going to show how this installs. We're going to place it under our roof rack making sure that our clamps go around our front and rear bar. Now, set it on here, we're ready to secure the front portion of our bike rack to the front cross bar. We're going to place the key in, move it to unlock position that way we can open up the head right here which will allow us to gain access to our tightening mechanism. Remember on that front clamp around the bar, you'll notice how that front clamp has a nice design to it. This bike rack is going to be compatible with square bars, round bars, aero, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems. We're going to place that bolt through that slot right there, pull up on it and simply just start to tighten everything down.

We're looking for a snug fit. Get that tight and then we can actually close this device. It's going to work as a cam action lever. We're just going to finish the securing process here at the front. If you need to make further adjustments, you can tighten or loosen up these 2 knobs here which is going to operate this end of the front clamp. Here at the rear clamp I just want to point out that Inno provides a spacer. You're going to only use the spacer if the bar height of the cross bar is less than inch. If you're using Inno bars like we are for our demonstration, then in their instructions they do recommend that we use the spacer. So that installed, we 're simply going to bring the clamp around the rear bar or I'll loosen up this side right here. We're looking for it to fit into the slot right here. So, we'll loosen that up as much as we can. It will get to fit in there and we can tighten this lever on this side. This lever here is designed to be used as a cam action lever. So, once you get the rear clamp snugged you can rotate this under and that's going to finish the tightening process. If the clamp and the roof are too close to one another to where you can't swing that over to a fully tightened position, what you can do is use the lower lever which is this right here. You can use that as a knob and then assembled the knob bolt under the lower point then make your adjustments. Now, as our bicycle rack fully assembled under a roof rack system. We're going to go and place our bike directly onto the bicycle rack. You can see how easily the system accepts our front forks. The slides right on to skewer just like that. Now you can tighten or loosen the skewer as necessary. All we have to do is close the skewer. We're looking for a little bit of resistance. I just want to let you to know that it's pretty tight around the forks. That's going to snap that into that position. You just have to roll it over so it lays a little bit flat. We're going to bring the head over that skewer system. Make sure it snaps down onto place and then move it to a lock position. Here at the rear, we're going to adjust the clamp as necessary. Once we get that set, we can simply use the rationing knob. To tighten this pad up against the wheel of our bicycle. They do include the additional strap for extra security so we're going to go and use that too. We're going to bring it over making sure that it doesn't make any contact with any spokes. we'll just go ahead and tighten it. We're going to use the hook and loop system. You just stick it to each other and it's going to hold in place. Now, we're going to take it out with test scores and show you how it performed. First, we're going to encounter the slalom course. It's going to show you any side to side movements such as making sharp turns, sudden moves or basic maneuvers. Next is going to be the alternating bumps. This is going to show you the side to side movement as well. Simulating, going over uneven pavement or hitting the pot hole. Finally, here are the solid bumps. We're going to show you the up and down movement. It's going to simulate going in and out of a parking garage, parking lot or hitting the curb. Now in just a few easy steps, our bike rack is installed. Our bike is loaded up and we're ready to go out and enjoy a ride. .

First off Kaylyn was amazing great customer service I told her what I needed and the rack she suggested is perfect! The racked shipped to me in only a few days. I have a 2019 Toyota C-HR with factory crossbars. Easy to install and I used it for the first time, drove 90 miles with my bike on the roof rack and no problems. I’m am a repeat customer etrailer is a great company. 634211

I have always used Thule equipment to carry my bicycles, kayak, etc. but my Honda CRV has factory roof racks which don't work well with the Thule system. The mounting system on the Inno rack is more flexible and works well with the OEM rails. Mounting the Inno on the roof racks is a straightforward process. I found the front part to mount quickly and easily while the rear mount needs more room to operate the mount properly. The rack securely holds bicycles and the rear "clamp" system is pretty nifty. The front mount for the fork rack is okay but I do miss the elegance of the Thule design. Overall, it gets the job done. 286113
