Video Transcript for Review of Mad-Ramps Ratchet Straps - Truck Bed - MR98ZV

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Mad-Ramps seven foot long ratchet tie-down straps with the shock absorbers, has a 1,000 pound working load limit, and it is for a quantity of two straps. Now, these are shock absorbing, ratcheting tie-down straps. This will let you secure cargo in your truck bed, so they are great for UTVs, motorcycles, or snowmobiles. The dimensions on the straps themselves is gonna be 1-1/2 inches wide by seven foot long, and they have a minimum usable length of 29 inches. Now, the maximum load or brake strength on the straps is 3,000 pounds, but the safe working load limit is a third of that, which is 1,000 pounds.

Now, they do use these built-in shocks, which will absorb impact to ensure constant tension even as your load shifts. These shocks we inchesre made of a urethane-based material, which will stand up to extreme temperatures, saltwater, moisture, oil, and, most chemicals. And they're held together with these sturdy grade eight bolts and nylon nuts that'll hold the shocks in place. The ratchet mechanism right here makes it very easy to tighten down each strap, maintains tension on the strap. And if you notice, it has this plastic coated handle and a release lever, which will ensure simple, safe operation even if you're wearing thick gloves.

Now, the S hooks on each end, you can see these S hooks, they are 3/8 inch sized S hooks. They have a very wide opening, so it allows a nice hassle-free connection to your anchor points. If you notice, they do use a rubber coating on the hooks. This is to prevent scratches and scuffs on your gear, your truck, or your trailer. And these retention clips will keep the hooks connected to your anchor points.

They are a corrosion-resistant yellow zinc chromate coating on the steel hardware, which will hold up to hot, cold, and wet weather conditions. And the webbing itself is a durable polyester webbing. It is UV-resistant, withstands abrasions and water absorption. Now, these are DOT approved. It is for a quantity of two straps.

Now, one note I do wanna mention is tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit, meaning the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So just to give you an example, if you're using straps that'll have a working load limit of 500 pounds each, and you're tying down a load weighing 1,000 pounds, then you're gonna need at least two straps to safely secure that load. And it is always recommended that you use your straps in pairs. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Mad-Ramps seven foot long ratchet tie-down straps with the shock absorbers.
