Today on our 2016 Mazda CX-5, we're going to be taking a look at the WeatherTech Side Window Air Deflectors with Dark Tinting for the front, part number WT80712, and also available in light tinting, part number WT70712. This is what these window air deflectors look like once they're installed on your vehicle. As you can see, they've got a nice low profile design that looks as if they came from the factory. They're made of a 3 mm thick acrylic construction, so that's going to help to give you nice long lasting durability. They help reduce wind noise when you've got the window rolled down. They also allow you to roll the window down just a little bit in order to get air circulation into the cabin even when it's raining. They're easy to install.
On these front ones here, there's no adhesive. Now, let's show you how to install them. Before starting the install, it's a good idea to take some water or rubbing alcohol or even window cleaner and clean the top edge of this window because once you put that air deflector up into place inside the window track, that window will put a little bit of pressure against it. You want to avoid there being dirt on that window, so it doesn't create little scratches or scuff marks on your window or the deflector. We'll leave the window at about this position, halfway or a little more up, and we're going to feed this edge in first, and then this down here is going to rest right on top of the windowsill out here. We'll feed it in there, and once that's started, we'll move it to the other end. We're going to bow this out a little bit in order to get this into the track here.
We're going to leave it down 1/2 an inch to 1 inch away from the top of that track, so that we can come back and work it in all the way through. We'll come back up to the front here and just start working it in up into the track there. We'll just slowly go along putting a little bit of pressure. Once you get back here, the rest of it will pop in. You can just push up along the length of it. Once you've got it pushed up in there, you'll want to take your fingers and just pull out a little bit just to help seat it before you try it with the window. Now, we'll take the window and roll it up and down carefully 5 times.
We do that in order to help seat it a little bit better, but then once we've done that, the last time we roll it up, we'll leave it up to help it really set into place. We'll leave it there for about 12 hours. Then, we'll repeat the same process on the other side. That's going to complete our look at the WeatherTech Side Window Air Deflectors with Dark Tinting for the front, part number WT80712, on our 2016 Mazda CX-5.
