Revolutionary Stability

TorkLift's GlowStep Revolution RV steps offer the ultimate in stability and adjustability. You can adjust the stairs' height to account for any type of terrain using the easy-to-use release lever. The built-in landing gear legs let you fine-tune the height. And they can be adjusted independently of one another to stabilize the steps on uneven terrain, eliminating any wobble.

Will Torklift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps Work for You?

Pull-out steps are typically installed on travel trailers. The GlowStep Revolution pull-out steps from Torklift are easy to install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.

Revolution Mounting

The GlowStep Revolution pull-out scissor steps attach to the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the doorframe, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 25-1/2" wide and 13-7/8" deep.

If it turns out you have more space beneath your doorway, there are larger step assemblies available with 27-1/2" wide brackets. A full list of the available steps is below.

Outrigger RV Steps

Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.

Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.

How Many Steps Do You Need?

Revolution Entry Height

To determine how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need.

The chart below displays entry height measurement ranges in the first column. If you determined you need a 25-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the second column. If you determined you need a 27-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the third column. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.

This page's step assembly is in bold text.

How Do You Install the Steps?

To install the steps:

  1. Make sure the camper is level on flat ground
  2. Lift the steps into the mounting space and prop into place

-Fully extend steps until feet touch the ground

  3. If needed, mark the mounting holes on the camper and drill

    -Set aside steps before drilling

  4. If needed, install the outriggers
  5. Align step mounting holes and secure in place with carriage bolts and flange lock nuts

-Make sure the bracket is backed up fully against the I-beam on the chassis

    -Hardware not included

  6. Tighten hardware until snug
  7. Make sure assembly is sitting square and level
  8. Torque the hardware tight

GlowStep Accessories

Torklift Accessories

Add any of these accessories to your Revolution scissor steps for stability, eliminating gaps, and keeping your steps and RV interior clean. The GlowGuide handrail (TLA7621 - sold separately) attaches to the outside of your RV and a bracket on the bottom of the steps. This helps to steady the assembly and adds 25 lbs to the weight capacity of the stairs. The SafeStep vinyl barrier (TLA7602 - sold separately) easily fastens with Velcro strips in between any 2 steps. This prevents you or your pets from accidentally slipping between steps. The DirtDestroyer boot brush (TLA7603 - sold separately) affixes to the bottom of the steps so you can scrape your shoes before climbing into your RV.

The entire step purchase was Great ! Order arrived quickly and was packaged very well. The installation was on our lance 2285 and couldn’t have been any easier. After removing the old the install took 5 minutes. No drilling or modification needed , 4 bolts lined up perfectly. Quality of the steps was second to none. We originally purchased a step that lifted into doorway , halfway through the install realized entry screen door needed modifying , didn’t like that idea. Also did not care for steps folding into camper. Returned to vendor and purchased the Tork Lift Revolution from etrailer and couldn’t be happier with new steps. 765625

Bought a new Lance RV, Model 1995. The steps were horrible. Installed the Glowstep Revolution steps and it made a world of difference. I installed them myself in under an hour following the instructions and using a small jack to hold the frame up while I bolted the steps to my RV. Had to use the two enclosed spacers but the installation was a cinch. Couldn't be happier with the steps and with the assistance from etrailer which is a great company with terrific support. 729730

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Our rig is a 2015 Lifestyle LS39FB 5th wheel and was factory equipped with the typical fold down steel steps. The issue with the stock steps is that the bottom step was rather high off the ground after I raised the coach in order to gain more clearance between the underside of the nose and the truck bed; my wife had a hard time getting in and out of the coach. I researched these steps for quite some time before purchase and came to the conclusion that they were the best solution. The stock steps were attached via four vertical studs, so I also purchased the vertical stud adapter bracket, part number TLA8022. I completed the installation just today and was very pleased to find that they were a "near bolt-on" installation. The only obstacle was that the entry light mounted on the back wall of the stair pocket was too high for the new steps and had to be moved downward about 3/8". Fortunately, the hole for the wiring was oversized so all I had to do was remove the screws from the light fixture, move the fixture down, and put the screws back in Both my wife and I very pleased with the steps. The bottom step is much closer to the ground and the separately adjustable landing gear is great, especially since the place we park the coach at home is not level. We did find it necessary to adjust the bolts on the scissors to make it easier to fold the steps back up - this topic is well covered in the owners manual. Finally, these steps are very well engineered, very well made, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. 693550

Still liking them after a year of use. We did have one mishap that damaged the landing gear on the steps. We were on a dirt road rife with stutter-bumps washboard and the retaining pin vibrated out of the latch. That allowed the latch to move upward and the steps fell to the ground while in motion I had to replace the landing gear and straighten out a couple of the aluminum scissors. Considering that the steps were dragged for close to a quarter mile and that was he only damage is testament to quality construction of the steps. To prevent the problem from happening again, we installed a hitch pin with integral safety wire in the second pin hole on the latch, so now we have two pins locking the steps in the stowed position.

Great product, install was easy, price was great, shipping was quick, and these steps are exactly what we needed to baby our old knees, especially when exiting our fifth wheel. Had a 27 inch mounting frame on our 2019 Dutchmen Astoria, so used shims that I drilled to match frame...holes in step frame and Dutchmen frame lined up perfectly. etrailer folks were great to work with! Thanks. 730981

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Installed on our '04 Pioneer 23T6 travel trailer. I used the original mounting holes from the 2 step steps. The included spacer plates have a self stick tape that hold them tight to the new steps. Everything lines up, bolts slide in place, life is good! I used a small automotive floor jack with a couple of 2X4's to lift and steady while bolting into place. The Torklift steps weigh in at about 50 lbs, so the additional support is welcome especially if performing this task alone. I had some help from my wife's uncle, however, it can be done by yourself if you take your time. The steps themselves are fantastic. Extremely strong and stable. The rise of the treads are 7 1/2" with the top step having a 9 1/4" rise to the threshold of our TT. The old factory steps had a 11" rise to the threshold. Much improved for my wife and our two small dogs. I can drill new mounting holes in the trailer bracket if the need to bring the last step up a little. We have not been camping in any uneven terrain yet, but the landing gear on the steps has over 6" of adjustment and is very robust. These steps hang down a little farther than the original 2 step steps. The TorkLift steps are about 6" taller than the original step. Our travel trailer sets up on the axles so I don't anticipate any clearance or curb issues. All in all, this is a very well made, easy to install, durable product. I admit this is a pricey addition to your travel trailer, but the quality is there and and in the long run, a good investment. 603845

We received the wiring harness very fast but the steps did not come as was given. Not a big deal the weather has been cold anyway but UPS does hand items over to the post office and it takes additional days to receive them. We haven't been able to install them yet. 603173

I don't like the price, however every step is worth it to me. These fold up like your hanging steps but there is no bouncing, wiggle, or sway. They do not dump dirt inside your RV. They don't need a large swing out space. They do adjust reasonably well to various heights. Please note both top and bottom have height adjustments but the top step is best in the high position. The lower position will make your first step much bigger and if not attentive will send you tumbling if you miss it. At night the glow dot work great, much better than expected and makes it easy to see your steps. I installed them myself but it takes care and I needed the spacer kit. Measurement is important. They still work like new after a year. 737072

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

The Torqlift Glow Steps are a great addition to our 2013 DRV Mobile Suites. They are a whole lot sturdier and not as vertical as the original steps. I give the steps 5 stars and Etrailer 3 stars for the packaging. I had to straighten one of the release handles due to etrailers inferior packaging, I ordered the spacer kit also and instead of shipping in the original packaging they elected to place both items in a new box with less padding. I ordered the 25.5" steps to fit the 27" opening per Torqlifts instructions; well do the math but 4- 1/4" spacers do not makeup an 1.5" so I had to make an additional spacer or spend more money buying another 4 spacers for $56.00. Torqlift needs to sell individual spacers. 542227

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

I purchased these steps to replace those on my 2014 Primetime Crusader 295RST trailer. The steps arrived a couple of days after ordering them. The box was beat up a little in shipping but the steps were not damaged at all. The step unit appears to be a high quality unit. I purchased the four step model and thought they would be heavier than my trailers current 3 step unit but they were actually just over 3 lbs lighter. They were fairly easy to install. It took less than 15 minutes to remove the old steps and the new ones were installed in about 45 minutes. The longest part of the installation was the fact that I had to measure the location of, and bore out, two holes in the original trailer mounting bracket to allow room for two bolt heads on the new step unit. If this was not needed the whole job could have been completed in about 30 minutes. I was able to remove the old steps by myself but my wife helped me position the new steps while I installed the mount bolts. This was quicker than getting a jack to raise the steps, or by disassembling the steps from the step frame, as shown in the instructions. The steps are very easy to operate, and to adjust higher or lower, as needed, for the steps to be level. They are very stable as compared to the old steps since they sit on the ground. They were a little more than I wanted to spend but I feel they will last a long time and they have the benefit of added safety when walking up and down them since they don't flex. I'm happy with the purchase and highly recommend these steps. 735382

Excellent steps. No bounce, easy to deploy. We also got a larger handle for the side of the camper. The wife is a bit of a clutz, and she now loves the steps compared to the stock unit. 635919

The reason I replace the factory step on my toy hauler was because, the drop from the floor to the first step was 12 inches. The replacement step has a adjustable height, and is easy to use. The install was easy. I am very happy with the GlowStep Revolution. 699636

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

Install was easy though I did have to drill two holes in the existing brackets to clear bolts on the steps. This is mentioned as a possibility in the directions. If doing the install alone take the steps off the frame as noted in the directions for ease of install. Steps are sturdy as shown in numerous videos. The adjustments are easy for both the top and bottom. The only thing I'm wondering is if the two plastic catch doohickeys are supposed to be bent down as visible in the photos. I replaced a 3 step set with these because they were very bouncy and my old dog had a hard time negotiating the steep steps. 555685

Comments
Everyone who sees and uses these steps love them. The two catch pieces were a bit bent but were easy to straighten and have caused no problems. After a year of use I would not hesitate to recommend these steps.

Review from a similar GlowStep Revolution in RV and Camper Steps

The Torklift Glowsteps are GREAT, but it took 2 weeks from the time I ordered them to install the steps. Don't let that scare you. I'm 68, was working by myself, and have been disabled for 29 years, and I doubt anyone else will experience all the difficulties I did to buy, have delivered, and install the steps. I measured according to Torklift and etrailer instructions, and ordered the 4-step, 27 1/2-inch frame TLA8004 from etrailer, because that was the width of the original steps' frame. I also ordered the TLA8022 Vertical Stud Adapter Kit. When the steps arrived, the UPS driver had the step box sitting on what was the top, because the bottom had become completely un-taped during shipment. The steps and their frame were still in the box, but the owner's manual, installation instructions, warranty card, and hardware kit were not. The Stud Adapter Kit was in its own separate box, and was intact. While the steps were here, using a wood platform I built, I lifted them up into our trailer's step well with a floor jack to check the fit. That's when the REAL nightmare began. We had an industry-standard 27 1/2-inch step frame on the original steps, but the manufacturer had placed both the vertical studs in the floor at a steep angle, instead of perfectly vertical. The factory had bent the original step brackets to make the original suspended steps fit the brackets. But the Glowstep frame fits MUCH higher up, next to the floor, and there was no way the 27 1/2-inch Glowstep frame was going to work with those angled studs and our narrow step well. So when they reshipped another set of steps, I asked etrailer to replace the steps with the TLA8104 4-step (same price), which has a 25 1/2-inch-wide frame. I also ordered the TLA8020 Spacer KIt to use with the TLA8104. Problems like the shipping snafu and the stud problem are why I deal with etrailer, and my previous order history with the company is about an arm's length! Hally C. , Lisa D., and John R. were all VERY helpful in helping me to resolve my problems. They contacted UPS to pick up the original steps at my home (after I repacked and solidly retaped the box). In 2 days, UPS picked up the original steps (I kept the stud adapter kit). Next day, UPS delivered another set of Glowsteps with 25 1/2-inch frame, this time with an etrailer box stapled COMPLETELY around the Glowsteps box, and VERY securely stapled with 111 BIG staples!! Then the fun began. Due to disabilities and medications I take I can't be exposed to high heat for long, or I will pass out and/or be unable to walk into the house to cool off, and our heat index in Central Texas has been running in the +100 degree range. Actual temperatures in our metal RV garage have been running 110-117 or more from noon to about midnight. I had to make some small modifications in order for the step frame to fit on the angled (non-) vertical studs on our trailer. I do NOT recommend anyone else modify ANYTHING. But I was determined to get us some premium steps that were easier to climb at our ages, and warranty was NOT one of my concerns. In our tight RV garage we CANNOT use the pivoting steps that store inside that are becoming popular. The Glowsteps were our only option, so I HAD to make them fit. These steps are built like a tank anyway, so I can't imagine ever needing the warranty, only insurance, if the steps are damaged by some outside force. I still had spacing difficulty, so I ended up having to straighten the factory-installed step brackets that the factory workers had bent, and drill them to match the mounting holes in the Glowstep frame. Then I had to paint the bare metal exposed by the work I had to do. When I finally finished all this, and jacked the step frame up into the step well, everything fit perfectly, and I had access to all the hardware. Tight clearance between our trailer side and the RV garage wall is the reason we could not consider the pivoting steps which pivot up and store inside the doorway, and I'm glad to say that even though we can't extend the Glowsteps out all the way due to the metal framing of the garage wall, the steps are rock solid and can be easily and safely used in just about any position. I have bad knees, and my wife has a bad hip, and the difference these steps make in allowing us easy entry and exit from our trailer is like the difference between night and day from the original shaky, suspended factory steps. My wife's sister and 94-year-old mother have their own trailer and camp with us, and even my M-I-L can easily get in and out of our trailer now, with the Glowsteps. She has never liked having to climb into our trailer with the original steps, even with a folding platform at the bottom. The "rise" on our steps was just too much for many of us. She does have to use the assist handle on the wall for balance with the Glowsteps, but she has to do that on any trailer, even my niece's 5th-wheel, which has the pivoting, store-inside-the-door steps. The Glowsteps are NOT inexpensive, and I had no idea of the trouble I was about to run into in installing them, due to the angled (non) vertical studs installed on our trailer at the factory, and the limited space in our enclosed step well. But now that the blood, sweat, and tears are behind me and the Glowsteps are installed, I don't think that my wife and I will EVER regret making this upgrade to our trailer, which is our preferred (and ONLY) recreation, that we've enjoyed immensely for 45 years! THANK YOU, ETRAILER, and THANK YOU, HALLY C., LISA D., AND JOHN R. YOU ARE LIFESAVERS!! 667824

These steps weren't our first choice -- we wanted the "big name" ones that fold up inside the door. But we have an inside stepdown and those wouldn't fit, so we got these. Boy are we GLAD that we did! They were super simple to install. These are just as stable as any others we've been on but so much easier to stow and use. And, if we do get them muddy, they are now outside the trailer instead of inside, like the ones we originally wanted, whew, dodged a bullet there! Like most dogs, ours are a bit wary of the 'see through' risers but they find these so firm and steady that they use them readily (unlike the free-hanging steps that came with the trailer). Highly recommend!!!! 660113

  • How to Determine if TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Fit Grand Design Travel Trailer
Steps like the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear # TLA8104 are not fit guided for year, make and model of trailer the way a trailer hitch is for a passenger vehicle, which means you will need to take a couple simple measurement to determine the correct fit. Just measure from the ground to the bottom of the door opening on your 2019 Grand Design Reflection 297RSTS, as well as the width of the factory mounting brackets. • How to Determine the Correct Replacement Steps for 2017 Winnebago Winnie
In order to determine which double steps to use with your 2017 Winnebago Winnie you will need to know the mounting bolt pattern of your current steps. For example, the Lippert Kwikee 32 Series # LC3722617 has a mounting bolt pattern that is 22" wide x 8" deep. It sounds like you are looking for the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear - 2 Steps - 25-7/16" Base - 350 lbs # TLA8102. I reached out to my contact at TorkLift and many of these Airstream applications use shims on the outside because the opening isn't straight. They have not decided to go with a full line for the Airstream campers because these steps work just fine. I asked specifically about the manual...

Since almost every situation is different, I cannot accurately give you a recommendation for your steps unless I know the size and drop of your current steps. We have a variety of universal fit steps including manual pull out steps and electric steps with drops ranging from 6 inches to 9 inches. Other dimensions that you will want to consider before choosing...

  • Will the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps Work On a 2015 Livin' Lite CampLite
I do have an upgraded step option for a 2015 Livin' Lite CampLite but the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps are simply too wide for your narrow doorway. Instead, I recommend the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps which like the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps go all the way to the ground so they will be much more stable than the factory pull-out steps. They also have glow-in the dark sections so you can see the steps when getting in and out of the trailer at night. In order...
