Easy Operation

These manual steps lessen the distance between your RV and the ground. The pull-out design lets you easily slide the steps out of their base for use and back in for storage during travel. The steps lock into place in the stored position.

Sturdy, Non-Slip Construction

These steps are designed with oval tread holes and 1-1/2" wide strips of grip tape to provide an anti-slip surface.

The strong steel steps can hold 350 lbs, and they are powder coated for rust resistance.

Simple Installation

Pre-drilled holes on the top of the mounting base match up to factory holes on the bottom of your RV. Just install the base with 2 carriage bolts and nuts (not included) on each side, and you're ready to use your steps. These steps can also be welded onto your RV's frame. Outriggers (sold separately) may be necessary for installation depending on the model of your original stairs.

Video Transcript for Stromberg Carlson RV and Camper Steps - Motorhome - SMFP-2100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Flexco manual pull out steps for RV's. This is a manually operated RV step that's going to make it easier to get into and out of their motor home. All you have to do is pull the step out for use and then they easily position back into a stowed or travel position for traveling. Here on the step surfacing, we're going to have nonslip surfaces. We're going to have oval tread holes that are going to provide sure footing. That's going to be located on each step. Now those tread holes also allow for dirt and moisture to fall through the step, that way it doesn't collect on the step surface.

At the front of each step we're going to have a piece of grip tape on the edge. It's going to measure about an inch and a half wide and that's going to offer additional traction. These steps are made from a steel construction so they're very strong and durable. They actually feature a weight capacity of 350 pounds. It's also going to feature a durable black powder coat finish, which is going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. This is an easy bolt on or weld on installation.

It's going to mount to the RV frame in the same manner as your original steps. Mounting hardware's not included. You're going to have 2 mount holes located on the upper portion of each arm. These are going to have a diameter measurement of 3/8ths of an inch. Now the unit may require outriggers for installation depending on the model of your original stairs.

Outriggers are sold separately and they are available here at etrailer.com if you need them. The product's made right here in the USA. A few measurements I want to go over with you real quick starting with the base dimensions. We're going to take a measurement from outer edge to outer edge. That's going to give us a measurement of about 26 and 1/8th of an inch wide. The depth of just that arm, that's going to measure about 8 inches deep.

Then when it comes to the bolt hole pattern, what we're doing is, we're just taking a measurement from the center of one hole to the center of the other. Right here on top, those are going to give us a separation measurement on center of about 24 and a half inches, and then going front to back, those are going to be separated on center by about 7 inches. Then when it comes to the dimensions of the actual step, go in this direction. Now each step is going to be the same. Overall width is going to be about 24 inches wide, and then the overall depth right here at the center's going to be about 9 inches deep. When it comes to the drop or rise of the unit, what we're doing is we're measuring from the top of one step to the top of the other. That separation's going to be about 7 and 7/8ths of an inch. We're going to have about 4 and 11/16ths of an inch from the top of the mounting surface to the top of the upper step platform, and about 12 and 3/8ths from the top of the mounting surface to the top of the lowest step. Measuring to the bottom of the lowest step, that's going to give us an overall drop measurement with it fully extended out, so that's going to be the lowest that it's going to hang down in a usable position of about 13 and 5/8ths of an inch. Now with the unit in a stowed position, to get it into a stowed position all you have to do is lift up on the bottom step here. It's going to fold on top of this step, and then there's going to be these rubber pads. That way it's going to prevent metal to metal contact. Very nice, seamless operation. Then you can go around here in the middle, we'll get it started, and then it has a tracking system here on the side where the unit goes in. Once you get it to this point, you just push it down a little bit, and it's going to move it into the fully locked position for travel, but this is the stowed position. We're going to take some measurements here of the side bracket. Measuring the overall width of that piece, it's going to be about 12 inches wide, about 9 and 7/16ths of an inch tall. Now you notice that right here's actually going to be our lowest point. With it in a retracted, or stowed position, from the top of the mounting surface to the bottom of that piece right there, that's going to give us a hang down measurement of about 10 inches. Again, this step's going to feature a weight capacity of 350 pounds. When you're ready to use it, all you have to do is pull out here in the center, grab the folding step, unfold it, and that's all there is to it. That's going to do it for today's look at the Flexco manual pullout steps for RV's.

The folded unit sticks a little when lifting into the stored position. Other than that, function, rigidity and quality are all fine. It replaced a single step unit that was uncomfortable to use. Good product that I would not hesitate to recommend. Made an USA: what a concept! 561138

Got the step in just a few days. Took about fifteen minuets to put on. Had just single step but it 12 inches from the door. This double step is 9 inches. Might not seem like much but when you have bad knees the inches may as well be feet. Can still go up about two more inches but have to modify the bracket that is welded to the camper frame. But we love the double step. Trying it out this weekend. Thank you for having a web sight. Sure makes my life better. I know where to go for thing like this double step. I highly recommend etrailor. Great company. 301505

REALLY need some suggested mounting methods suited to particular trailers. How would you like to buy a couple of airplane wings with no suggestion as to what they would fit and how to mount them? 517744

Comments
This particular step has a 27-5/8 inch wide mounting bracket. The best way to determine the correct steps for your application is to measure the width of the mounting bracket of your existing steps, and compare that dimension to the available steps.

My camper came with one step. We tried several step stools and after falling several times I found this item and the price was low. I had to do a little cutting of corners to mount, but it worked like a champ. It only took me about 2 hours and it took the place of the single step. We love it. It looks like it was factory installed. 575162

The steps are still working great. I am sure they will hold up for the life of the camper.

Great product, my previous two step was twice as long and I dragged the ground with it on the maiden voyage home. The flexco two step is well built, made in the USA, is half as tall when folded with the right stepping distance when extended and half the weight. I use my RV at least one weekend a month and the new step makes it much more enjoyable. 545703

Received steps right on schedule and the fit with just minor adjustments, such as elongating two mounting holes. We believe they’ll work great as the single step was physically hard for my wife to get in and out of trailer. Only one problem is they didn’t retract easily at first until I readjusted the step arms. We’re pleased as these steps saved us money, time, and inconvience of having an RV shop order them and install that is always pricey! 544431

This is the 2nd one of these steps I have purchased and they work great. I have a bandwagon I use for playing in Mardi Gras parades and have one of these mounted on the front and back of the bandwagon. They are durable and have no problem supporting the weight of the musicians getting on and off the bandwagon. 516227

The steps were to arrive by 8 pm on Monday, were surprised when UPS delivered them on Saturday afternoon! The installation wasn't as easy as we hoped, had to notch the back and drill out the back hole on both sides. No install instructions, but we got it installed. I think the double step will make our knees happy. Service was great. 494871

Comments
I recommend this 2-step, with its higher weight limit, it handles weight very good. Its great for our old knees. Our R-POD has the lift kit, and was a bit of a struggle to get up and down the steps with arms full. Now its a breeze. As someone mentioned, it sticks occasionally, but Ive found if I reach above the steps and pull from behind, it comes out with ease.

I'm impressed with the quality of the product. We purchased the 2-step model to replace a single step. Two years ago we raised our camper about 6 inches because it was so low it hit on all parking lot entrances. Moved the springs on top of the axels?. This will be a great upgrade along with a Lend a Hand grab bar. 391527

- SMFP-2100
by:

Installation was simple: clamped in place, drilled holes and bolted to frame. Steps dragged in the channels making them hard to deploy. It took some serious filing to get the clearance necessary for smooth operation. Very safe and sturdy. 385946

- SMFP-2100
by:

Bought these steps to replace single step on my Rpod 177. We have the lift kit on the axle, so the single step was difficult to get up and down on. This unit slid between the welded bracket with some persuasion. I had to enlarge the rear bolt holes on the bracket. Very pleased with the layout of the steps now! 382611

With a little retrofitting, this worked perfectly. My wife can now get in and out of our camper with ease. Thanks so much for all your help on choosing the best product for our needs. 377485

Comments
It was perfect for what we needed. A little modification on the hook up to the camper itself but I knew that going in. Makes getting in and out so much simpler with that extra step. I thank you and my wife said to tell you it was a knee saver.
