Will Lippert Pull-Out Steps Work for You?
Pull-out steps are typically installed on travel trailers. The pull-out steps from Lippert are easy to install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Lippert pull-out steps attach the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the door frame, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 27-1/2" wide and 12" deep.
If it turns out you have more or less space beneath your doorway, there are other step assemblies available with bracket sizes ranging from 25-1/2" wide to 28" wide. A full list of the available steps is below.
Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.
Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To determine how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, plus 6" to 9" to account for the drop from the bottom step to the ground. This measurement will also tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays entry height measurements in the first column. If you determined you need a 25-1/2" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the second column. If you determined you need a 25-3/4" mounting bracket, the step part numbers with that width are in the third column. The steps for 27-1/2" mounting bracket widths are in the fourth column, and the steps for 28" mounting bracket widths are in the fifth column. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.

Works well,I could have gotten the 2 step instead, double check all of you heights. Excellent product and price.
Ed & - 11/13/2020I stupidly backed my wife's car into the steps of our 5th wheel, damaging them. I looked on-line and found a replacement for the steps, perfectly described and with measurements and pictures so I knew they were the right ones. And at a great price, less than that big box Camping place - with free shipping. I ordered them and promptly got an email from George J. in customer service advising that the order had been received and shipped, giving me a tracking link and his own email address and a phone number to contact him with any questions. The steps arrived in perfect condition within 6 days at which time I received another email from Carol C. advising that the steps had been reported as delivered and to contact her with any questions, giving her email and phone number. Mike - 08/28/2019Do to a minor accident, I needed to replace my steps to my trailer. I've dealt with etrailer before and know they have quality materials and the staff is more than helpful. The steps arrived and the delivery man carried them into the back yard for me. No shipping cost, I might add. Getting the old steps out was a bit of a problem because of a bent bracket but with the aid of a torch and some swearing, the carrier was ready for the new unit. Being 75 years old, I lack some muscle power but with the help of a couple of hydraulic jacks, the unit went in with a lot less trouble than taking the old one out. My wife loves the slight curve because it makes her feel like there is a larger platform to step on as she uses them.
I received my set of steps for our 5th wheel they were a perfect match for replacement everything lined up and bolted together easily the only thing I would recommend is supplying the carriage bolts with the steps thank you very much

The steps we purchased replaced our old ones perfectly. They are a little lighter weight than the old ones and a little lower to the ground, but we find that is better for us.
We did our research and took measurements very carefully for this step set. We went on-line to re-search for manual pull out RV steps to replace our damaged step. We found the steps needed at etrailer, checked the schematics and watched the video that actually told us everything we needed to know about the mounting hole measurements, step offsets etc. The steps were delivered a day earlier than estimated nicely boxed. The swap from old step to new Lippert step literally took my wife and I, 5 minutes to change out with the help of a floor jack. We chose the Lippert because it has a little lower bottom step than our previous step which helps with our dry camping that we do accessing the trailer. Quality is very high as usual from Lippert products.
The steps are well made. The mounting holes appear to perfectly match my old steps, but I bent the mounting brackets so badly that, so far, I have only been able to align the front two bolts of the original four. I would warn buyers to investigate the damage to their RV as well as to the steps before purchasing and attempting to install replacements. It has become a major ordeal for me.
Got here in 2 days and my 16 year old son had the old broken steps removed and the new ones installed in less than 30 minutes!! Super easy install and great set of steps to replace the ones on our toyhauler.

Robert M - 10/09/2019These steps operate much easier than the original ones that came with the trailer. They are well made - good quality steps! It took me about 3.0 hours to install the steps. I did not order the outriggers so I used the old brackets off of my original steps. To remove the old bracket from my existing steps, I used a disk grinder to grind off the head of the pin. I drilled/enlarged the exiting holes (six total) in the new steps to 3/8 inch to match the size of the bolts that secured the existing steps. Attached are pictures of the brackets that I removed from my existing steps and the bracket complete installation.

I bought these to replace the Hickory Springs steps that were OEM on my trailer (I had cut a right turn to tight and bent up both original sets). The overall measurements shown on the webpage are identical to those of the Hickory Springs steps, and the Hickory Spring steps were aging quickly anyhow. Shipping was fast and included in the price. These would rate a five star rating except they are actually slightly wider (1/8") than the old steps, so the fit was really tight. They are also made in India instead of the USA.
Stairs arrived early, installed them same day I received them. I really like the non-slip surface strips that seem really beefy. These steps have a small dish going from one side of each step to the other... and drain holes to channel rain water away. These are great steps at a great price, thanks etrailer.
New steps arrived quickly and were easy to install. Original steps were the same brand and model, so the new ones fit right in with the original mounting hardware. Bottom step even has a handle for opening, the original steps did not. Very pleased with my purchase and etrailer's delivery.
I ordered these to replace 7-inch steps which left a long way to the ground. They arrived very quickly, and in good shape. I like the solid step (no drain holes which hurt to walk on with bare feet), and the non-slip coating. The bottom step is now virtually on the ground. It does significantly reduce the clearance from the ground when folded compared to the original, which could be an issue if you camp in areas with rough roads and uneven ground.
